We often find that whilst training is useful and targeted for staff to engage
in best practice and the most up to date information, when the new
learning is transferred and integrated back into the workplace, it gradually
becomes something that sits on the ‘shelf’.
Research suggests that only 10-13% of new learning in training is
transferred back into the workplace.
At Amovita, we have a training program that ensures you and your staff
integrate the new learning from our training for the longer term where it
can really make a difference to the workplace.
We understand learning theory and the important elements of maximising
the transfer of learning back into the workplace.
Amovita is a provider of a range of professional development and
accredited training presentations for the corporate and business world and
specific presentations for the human and community services sector.

‘How to Become a Lion Tamer’ - 1 Day Presentation
Being able to communicate confidently and effectively is an essential skill in
today’s competitive workplace. This is especially true for those who work in
the ‘front line’ of public services, dealing with clients, families and carers or
in the corporate sector working with and responding to resistant
customers.
These roles often involve working under a pressure, whilst at times having
to negotiate conflicting values, opinions and beliefs of others.
This training presentation provides valuable skills and knowledge for
participants to communicate with influence that will allow the creation of
positive and productive working relationships, skills to diffuse hostile
situations, respond appropriately to confrontations and successfully resolve
misunderstandings.
It is an experiential learning journey that will enable participants to reflect
and consider the impact that certain communication styles and behavioural
approaches can have on relationships with others. The course works
through a five-tiered model that will develop an understanding and
appreciation of the different levels and types of assertiveness. Participants
will be provided with various opportunities for reflection and analyse
different examples of when, where, how and why staff find themselves in
challenging situations.
Participants will then be provided with the opportunity to practice the
techniques they have learned, building their confidence and emphasising
the use of specific strategies for promoting positive and productive
interactions.
Learning Outcomes
Identify behavioural styles and how they can impact on working
relationships
Identify their own natural style of assertiveness and apply
techniques in a range of work situations to promote positive
relationships
Identify appropriate communication strategies and utilise specific
techniques in work situations that require assertiveness
Manage conflict and challenge others with empathy and sensitivity.

‘Getting called into the Front Line’ - 1 Day Presentation
It can be difficult to know what to do or say when approached by someone
who is anxious or in distress. Without specialist knowledge, training and
experience having to step into an accidental counsellor role can be difficult
and overwhelming.
There may be times where you will be first point of contact for someone in
crisis, and whether it is a major emergency or some sort of emotional

Even without a formal qualification in counselling it’s important to have a

provide the necessary support to others when they are anxious, angry,
experiencing grief or a challenging time in their lives.
One of the main aims of the presentation is to provide participants with a
framework with which to respond when having to step into an accidental
counsellor role in the workplace.

be able to respond appropriately, empathetically and effectively to others
in crisis including team members and clients.
Participants will learn general counselling techniques including different
questioning frameworks for use in different situations, how to de-escalate
a situation and engage in self-care post the situation.
