Adapting Your Business to the Age of
Now by Improving Supply Chain Management
Efficiency
Overview: Supply Chain Execution Convergence
• High-speed mobile data capability allows companies to bring previously disparate data streams together to improve efficiency, customer service and speed to market.
• Real-time transparency and seamless flow of information are critical and impact on-demand services at the dawn of an age when they rule.
• Companies need full visibility of their supply chain and need to know how that can be accomplished.
• Real-time intelligence helps adjusting to critical customer needs.
• Supply-chain focused organization has maximum dexterity.
In this session you will learn:
1. How transformative new tools/technology can empower companies with the efficiency they need to compete.
2. How M2M technology helps draw companies closer to customers and their needs.
3. How the latest supply chain management solutions are delivering real time information to distributed businesses on mobile platforms from iOS to Windows and Android. Everyone, from upper management to dispatcher to field service engineer, gets command visibility
4. How to run tighter supply chains with less risk of disappointing customers by having 360-degree visibility of every aspect within the supply chain, from start to finish
Supply Chain Execution Convergence (SCEC)
Merging of critical supply chain processes, granting operations professionals visibility into the entire process
from start to finish.
4 Critical Areas of SCEC
What changed?
1. Everyone is “mobilized”, creating immediate demand for everything.
2. “It’s all about me!” servicing customer individual needs.
3. High-speed mobile data capability brought disparate data streams
together, creating an opportunity.
4. The age of “now” demands efficiency, customer service and speed.
5. Now companies require full supply chain visibility to compete.
6. On-demand services are king, real-time transparency and seamless
flow of information are critical.
Technologies That Make SCEC Possible
Connectivity and Mobility• 3G and 4G LTE• Powerful mobile computing devices (tablets,
smartphones)• Cloud computing and SaaS solutions
What has converged is more than technology: The
highly interactive and integrated experience available
via devices and the 4GLTE network brings several
dependencies together:
•Immediacy: Access to relevant information requires access to
ubiquitous cloud services all the time.
•Mobility: People are mobile, and they require devices and
applications in their hands as opposed to machines tethered to a
desk.
•Mapping: Location data shapes the enormous amount of
potential data into information that is most relevant.
What we can learn about B2ME?• How transformative new technology empowers companies
• How M2M helps draw companies closer to their customers and needs
• How delivering real-time information to distributed businesses on
mobile platforms makes a difference
• How real-time collaboration works: from upper management to
warehouse personnel to external suppliers, all enjoy command
visibility
• How running a tighter supply chain decreases risk, loss,
disappointment, spoilage and expense
• How running a tighter supply chain increases efficiency, economy and
sustainability by using 360-degree visibility, from start to finish
The Connected Service Vehicle (CSV) is collaboration of Apptricity, ALU & Trimble that leverages the cloud for service applications.
•4GLTE •Apptricity Smartfleet•Velocix CDN•Video Conferencing •Geo-location•Text to Speech
Fleet vehicles to efficiently dispatch and interact with technicians & vehicles using mobile platforms to leverage the high bandwidth connectivity provided by the CSV.
Tracking packages with RFID reader, Call Routing to Nearby Technicians, Telestration and In-vehicle routing with dual LTE interfaces for broadband connectivity.
Smartfleet is an operations interface that a business can use to leverage real-time information provided by a fleet of connected vehicles.
An Operations Manager will use Smartfleet to efficiently organize and direct the day-to-day operation of their fleet services.
The Fleet Manager has access to work order tracking, inventory levels, and vehicle info such as location, maintenance, and diagnostics data. Video streaming connectivity to each individual vehicle allows the Fleet Manager to quickly resolve any issues.
Connected vehicles make a difference as they:
• Allow for real-time tracking of assets M2M
• Ensure that vehicles are properly stocked based on the day’s activities
• Enhance productivity by allowing smaller & more accurate service windows
• Provide real-time information on new & updated work orders & their status
• Improve customer satisfaction through accurate service delivery times & integrated customer communication
