The Yellow Jacket Band, comprised of students from Bartow High Schoo!, lnternational

Baccalaureate and Summerlin Academy, has been recognized by the Governor's office

and the Department of Education as one of the best band programs in the State of

Florida.

Recently, the band's Wind Symphony was selected to perform at the 2018 Chicago

lnternational Music Festival in April. They will perform on the Armour Stage - home tothe Chicago Symphony Orchestra, who will also perform at the festival. Only four high

school groups notionwide ore selected to perform annually. The Wind Symphony is very

honored to be the only band selected from the Stote of Florida.

As you know, Bartow was hit quite hard by Hurricane lrma and many parents of band

students are struggling to provide the financial support for this once in a lifetime

experience.

The Bartow Band is a very important part of our community. Each year, we march inparades, perform at Veteran's Day performances, kick off the Relay for Life Event, andcelebrates with its community in everything that is wonderful about Bartow. At this time,we are working to find organizations that would like to sponsor our students to helpthem attend this once in a lifetime event. We are reaching out to the community to help

eet the Bartow High School Band eet to Chicaso.
