Cats　　 Cats can see some colours, but not all colours. They cannot distinguish things in red from things in green. In their eyes, all apples are green!

Bees　　 Bees can see a world that is different from ours. Their eyes are sensitive to ultraviolet light. Thanks to the ability, bees can then see the patterns on flower petals. And that helps them find nectar in flowers.

Rattlesnake　　 During the daytime, the world in rattlesnakes’ eyes is blurred. But when at night, their vision becomes much better. So humans and rattlesnakes can never enjoy the same view together!

ScienceColour Blindness

色盲 ( 亦称“色觉辨认障碍” ) 是指无法正确感知部分或全部颜色间区别的缺陷。通常色盲发生的原因与遗传有关，但部分色盲则与眼、视神经或脑部损伤有关，也可由于接触特定化学物质而产生。

　　眼睛之所以能辨识颜色，是由于眼睛存在三种能辨色的椎状细胞，这三种椎状细胞能吸收不同波长范围的光，分别是蓝、绿、红 ( 即光的三原色 ) 。当椎状细胞受到损伤或发育不全时，就有可能造成色盲。

　　以发生原因来分，色盲可分为“先天性色盲”和“后天性色盲”。先天性色盲多为红绿色盲，对于红绿辨色有障碍。后天性色盲的发生原因则可能与视网膜、视神经病变有关。

a cold place to a hot place. He stayed in the house all day because it was too hot to go out.

At night, the scholar went out of his house to get some fresh air. “There are a lot of people here. Now I feel better. But how come the house across the street is so quiet?” he thought.

The scholar got near to the house. He heard music from the house, and saw beautiful flowers in the house. “There must be a pretty woman living in this house,” he thought.
