8 9EXHIBITION S I T E SEXHIBITION S I T E S
INTERNAUTICA covers over 35,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space. The indoor venues provide space for
displaying smaller yachts, inflatable boats, other nautical accessories and navigation equipment. The outdoor exhibition
site has expanded every year as a result of increased, year-on-year exhibitor demand, including the increasing demand
for showcasing larger vessels. Our floating docks are suitably extended for this purpose: appropriate mooring spaces
for bigger yachts are added and major improvements in the planning of the exhibition areas are made.

Borut Pahor
President of the Republic of Slovenia
Dear friends of INTERNAUTICA, visitors and seafaring lovers,
INTERNAUTICA is a well established international boat show and it’s celebrating the twentieth
anniversary of its growth and development. In that span, Slovenia established itself not only as
a coastal country, but a country that knows, explores and uses its sea with love.
INTERNAUTICA has been fascinating its visitors from the country and from afar from its very
beginnings - from the day that the daring and determined story of preparing the leading
nautical event in the Adriatic started, as if that was something that belonged to us all along. The
organizers have been following the most recent nautical developments in the world for the last
twenty years while emphasizing things that belong to us. This hard journey shows that the first
step was easy only because no one was aware of the challenges in the future. I would therefore
like to thank everyone who followed INTERNAUTICA in its journey to where it is today. You are
not stopping yet and you are finding new ways to strengthen the biggest Slovenian nautical
show in its position as the leading show in the entire Central European region.
INTERNAUTICA has been a very important contributing factor to the growth of nautical tourism
in Slovenia, but its ripple effects may be even more important. When the show quiets down and
the wind settles, only the love of the sea remains. Its openness and boundlessness bring us to
the realization that the seas connect us all instead of setting us apart. I like to say that Slovenia
is beautiful and smart, but today I would like to add that it is not that small either, since it has
the sea and the largest nautical show in the region.
I wish a for nice stay on the Slovenian coast to all the visitors. I hope they will have fun socializing on
the sea and by it. For the organizers, I wish that they make the a daring step into the next decade.
Fascination: THE SEA
or as Tolstoy wrote:If you want to be happy, be!April is as restless as those born in this month. I get restless in April, like everyone who shares my love of the sea. We have to go to sea, we have to stretch our sea legs..It’s cold, the boat not yet ready, the weather still fickle, stomachs weak from winter and everyone seems cranky and in a bad mood. So what! We’re off, and that’s that. Labour Day and the Day of Rising against our Occupiers, plus an extended leave between the two, a great holiday awaits! Not everything goes smoothly: corrosion has taken its toll on the yacht during its winter sleep and I shall attribute the damages resulting from the lack of maintenance to her, of course... The electrics are acting up, presenting me with mysteriously unclear reasons as to why; there’s always some fuss around the engine, which has only stiffened up more over the winter; then there’re the sails and deck equipment - oh, I know I said I’d sort everything out right after the past season... I’m sure the sail permit is still valid, since I’d just renewed it – what year did you say?No matter, a true seaman always has to make do, regardless of the circumstances. Who did I lend those neoprene sailing trousers to? It won’t rain, anyway. We won’t be sailing windward in a case of high waves either, we’re not that green anymore...Things are bound to sort themselves out as soon as I sail out to sea.As soon as native Piran disappears behind the cape, one can relax. Strange that there’s such a strong bora blowing. The sky’s dark. It doesn’t seem to be blowing from the usual direction either, but rather from the east. What was it they used to tell us back at sailing school? “Beware of the clear southerly and the cloudy bora!” I’m sure that in the same breath they must have said something along the lines of: “If you can’t handle the sea, stick to the land.”We’re not made of sugar, a few drop won’t spoil our fun. Drip, drop, drip, April showers. The first big wave strikes the side at such a weird angle that parts of it splash down the helmsman’s collar and into his ear and onto the chart table and onto the computer there...Hmm, winter hasn’t done me any good either: I’m stumbling awkwardly around the boat, my knees refusing to obey; I’ve forgotten all the manoeuvres (how do I rig the topsail?), I tighten the sheet of the Genoa jib, my shoulders are crackling and I feel a weird stinging sensation in my muscles... Drenched, freezing, flushed from the wind, we arrive at our first day’s destination, deep within a bay, a refuge from the wind, where the anchor holds as if nailed to the seabed. The deck is tidied in a flash. See how everything’s at hand! Inside the yacht it’s nice and warm. Dinner appears on the table, together with a nice bottle of rosé.It’s not that late yet, but the berth in the bow is soft, warm and inviting. It is too early to sleep, yet just right to doze. The boat rocks so very gently: is it but a cradle? The stays clink gently against the mast while the wind with its nightly dance strums its symphony through the rigging. The anchor chain gives out mild rattling sounds and the bow moans with every stronger gust of wind. This harmony of familiar melodies from days of youth sings the most beautiful lullabies. Consciousness now in bliss, together with memories, slowly wanes away - who sings this again? I’m not sure, but back then...Under the soft blanket, the gentle brush of the feet of someone most dear to me.Nirvana? Happiness? Certainly something indescribably beautiful. And in the morning? Nothing at all like at home: I wake up early, rising spry and rested. The glittering light – THE SEA!How will we ever make it till summer, when it’s time to sail around the islands of Croatia and Greece, when in the middle of the sea, we become the centre of the world?Yet here at Internautica, in a few more days, we shall see our friends once again, those who share our fortune, those the sea loves.
One of these fortunate ones is Jurij. And that’s why we have Internautica.

22nd INTERNAUTICA will be focusing again on the presentation of innovative future technologies increasing individual’s ecological awareness promoting the use of energy from renewable sources, or hybrid systems with reduced fuel consumption and emissions. The Green Avenue project 2017 is presenting new electric and hybrid vehicles, and of course vessels and nautical equipment of this type.
In 2014 various electric and hybrid vehicles have been exhibited: Pipistrel NASA-award winning aircraft, various hybrid and electric cars (BMW i3, Tesla, Opel Ampera, E-Smart Roadster, E-Smart, Nissan Leaf ), ecological vehicles (Fiat, gas engine modification), and an electric motor and bicycle. In the water it was possible to visit the hybrid vessels Greenline, as well as some purely electric-driven vessels.
In 2016 the Green Avenue has increased and presented more exhibited cars, motorcycles, bicycles and other means of transport used to drive electrical or hybrid vehicles. At the same time Green Avenue will expand the program to other products and services that are not directly related to transport. Everything ecologically oriented, that is technologically sophisticated and environmentally friendly will be shown in the area of Green Avenue. Products, supporting each other are increasing the level of all the displayed programs.
The period ahead will be marked by the prudent and efficient use of energy, shift to green energy and the development of related green technologies. In the field of green mobility, Slovenia has achieved many outstanding results - on the road, in the air and on the water. A platform and many opportunities for successful Slovenian economic future and identity has been created in last few years.
The Green Avenue Project 2017 is presenting new electric and hybrid vehicles, vessels and nautical equipment of this type.
