Geology Study of rocks, minerals, parts of earth
Sedimentary Metamorphic Igneous
Minerals
The Igneous rock is made when the magma is
underground erupts , and the lava cools above
ground.
Igneous rocks are split into two groups. When the Igneous rock cools quickly, the rock is as
smooth as glass. When it cools slowly, air bubbles will get
trapped into the rock, and then the Igneous rock will have spaces
in it.
Granite is a example of Igneous Rock, and people can use it for counters for
their kitchen
Obsidian is used for
sharp edges such as
knives, and arrowheads.
Amphibolite is also a type of Igneous rock. It is used as crushed stone for the
use of road and railroad bed construction.
Rocks metamorphose when they are in a place where it is very hot or the
pressure is high. It is squeezed under the earth for millions of years. The
rocks will often have layers and crystals.
A metamorphic rock is formed by the rock being
crushed between the Earths crust, and heat
and high pressure.
A marble metamorphic
rock is used for making floor
tiles
A quartzite metamorphic rock is used for making
building tools.
A Phylite metamorphic rock is used for making
marble buildings
A Sedimentary rock is made up of about three-quarters of the rocks on the Earth. They are from environments such
as beaches, rivers, the ocean, and anywhere that sand, mud, and other types of
sediment collect.
Many sedimentary rocks are made from the broken bits of other rocks, which
are called Clastic Sedimentary Rocks. The
other types of Sedimentary rocks, are called Chemical Sedimentary Rocks, and is
made up of mineral crystals.
Shale is a Sedimentary Rock and is used as a
filler for paint
Breccia is used for countertops and walk ways.
Sandstone is also a Sedimentary
rock and is used for sharpening
devices, buildings, and
glass production.
The inner core of the earth is the hottest. Its about 1,216 km in the
radius. The inner core is a solid as it is packed together so tightly.
Inner Core
The outer core of the earth is the second hottest. It’s a liquid layer of about 2,266 km. Its also composed
of iron and nickel.
Outer Core
The mantle is divided into two regions. It is made from hot, semisolid rock. Its
about 2,900 km. thick.
Hard and rigid, the crust is the earth’s thinnest layer, and its about 5 km.
thick and under the ocean.

A mineral is a non-living solid that is made of
atoms and elements. The atoms divides the
minerals into many different groups.
A mineral is formed by atoms and elements. A
mineral could be formed by magma, cools and leaves
crystals. When minerals are formed by the sea, it is a
sedimentary-mineral rock. Also, when the mineral is a
metamorphic it forms where mountains start
forming.
The Minerals are Quartz, Talc, Gold, Copper, Silver, Diamond, Mesa,
Feldspars and many more.
The Asychanite is rock is a rock that is sold for millions of
dollars
Many people buy this rock because it is
very pretty to look at it is called a Ajoyt
Crystals are often put on jewelry and sold
for thousands dollars
