Council (NAAC), Bangaluru. It is a result of commitment and

dedication towards quality education by our society Shri

Sadashivrao Patil Shikshan Sanstha, Kamptee and hard work,

enthusiasm of our team. I acknowledge the well wishers of our

institute who are always there with us.

Also, coming after a significant period of time makes this issue

an awaiting one. There were ample of activities and events

organized in last quarter, which have been covered in this

issue. Now is the season of Diwali festival and celebrations.

We are entering into a new era of quality education wherein

our stakeholders are driving us. Outcome based teaching

learning system which was discussed once as concept in the

conferences and conventions is being realized due to this. It is

paving the way for Pharmacy Education in India to be globally

acceptable.

23rd Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India

Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India Rajasthan State Branch organized Poster and oral

presentation competition in the 23rd Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical

Teachers of India, on 5thand 6thOctober 2018 at Jaipur with theme “Innovative teaching and learning

strategies in pharmacy requirements and barriers”. A team of 62 students of M Pharm and Prof. K.R.Gupta

attended the conference. Thirty two students of Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy, Kamptee

presented their posters on various research work and other topics ranging from pharmaceutics,

pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical teaching and evaluation methods,

pharmacovigilance and pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical education, pharmacy and pharmaceutical

management, and many others. The Poster Presentation on “investigation on the role of central

agmatinergic signalling in ethanol reinforcement in rats” was awarded by 1st prize which was presented by

Miss. Shalaka V. Dabhekar student of M.Pharm II while Ms Ekta Tembhare, M Pharm I received 1st prize in

Pharmaceutical Education section. Plenary scientific sessions, oral and poster scientific sessions provide

an opportunity to all the student, researchers and professionals to review discuss and exchange latest

innovative ideas and research finding in pharmaceutical sciences and current trends in providing patient

care.It was great and exiting experience, aimed at inspiring young talents. Dr Milind J Umekar, Principal

SKBCOP congratulated the winners on their achievement. Students are thankful to Dr. Rajesh Asija

(President and Convener) and his team, for organizing this competition.It was an opportunity for student

to interact /share their knowledge on Innovations in Pharmaceutical Sciences in front of society.

One day National Workshop on “Stress Free Health Care Professionals: A Self Care and Wellness

Workshop”, sponsored by Association of Pharmaceuticals Teachers of India (APTI) conducted by

Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy, Geetanjali University, Udaipur (GIP) on 18thAugust, 2018. The event

brought together around 100 Academicians, Scientists, Doctors, Research Scholars, Dentists, Post-

doctoral fellows, Nursing staff, Health care Professionals and PG medical students from different states,

all over India. The workshop was inaugurated with lighting the lamp in the presence of mother

Saraswati by the guests Dr. N. K. Sharma, GM at JK Tyres and corporate trainer, Kishore Pujari, CEO,

Geetanjali Hospital, Dr.Ramesh Patel,Dr. Ashok Dashora, Dr.AnjuGoyal and Dr.UdichiKataria. In the

welcome address Dr. Ashok Dashora, Dean, GIP & convenor of the workshop welcomed all the

dignitaries and delegates in one day workshop.After the welcome address, the keynote session started

with a talk by Dr. Kishore Pujari, CEO, GMCH discussed with that all living creatures experience stress

every day. Dr. Ramesh Patel, Consultant Cardiologist, GMCH talked that stress is body's response to

physical, chemical and emotional reactions. This was followed by a talk by Dr. UdichiKataria, organising

secretary of workshop & Associate Professor, GIP explained that stress is so much to do in less time with

less energy where we can only deal with energy. She talked about how to manage our energy with good

food, sleep, breathing exercise and a happy mind which we can do with mind management. Dr. N. K.

Sharma started with how man and women deal with stress in daily life. He said women go through more

tress in day to day life in male dominating society but male are more in stress because women are more

stable. He talked about emotional health which is balance between your work and your health and how

you keep disturb emotion with you as baggage which disturbs yourself. He also talked about quality

professionals, quality work and Intellectual wellness. The post scientific session of the workshopwas

followed by yoga session bya Master Trainer i.e. Dr. Guneet Monga Bhargava, Head of Department,

Faculty of Yoga, Pacific University, Udaipur.

The workshop was concluded by Dr. Anju Goyal, Professor, BNIPS, Udaipur and Co-ordinator, APTI,

Women Forum, Rajasthan Branch with vote of thanks.

TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION : REPORT

Throughout India, 5th of September is observed as

T E A C H E R ' S D AY i n h o n o u r o f D r. S a r v e p a l l i

Radhakrishnan. Keeping the tradition alive, the

students of S.K.B.C.O.P. organised a program to

express gratitude and give heartfelt tribute to their

teachers. The chief guests for the program DR. N. J.

Durugkar, DR. C.T.Chopde,DR. M.J.Umekar, DR.

A.T.Patil, Mr. N.M. Deshmukh were invited along with

the entire teaching and non-teaching staff members.

The program started with traditional auspicious lamp lighting ceremony as a tribute to goddess Saraswati,

the source of abundant knowledge. It was followed by a brief anecdote addressing the great work of Dr.

Radhakrishnan and paying respect to late Dr. Sudhir Wadodkar. The student council members presented

roses as a token of respect and to teachers and non-teaching staff.

DR. C. T. Chopde, addressed the program and guided the students with his valuable words reflecting his

years of experience as a teacher. Likewise, DR. A.T.Patil acknowledged the beautiful relationship that exists

between a student and a teacher and shared his priceless experiences. The Principal, Dr. M.J. Umekar, praised

the entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the college's phenomenal success. A few lines delivered by

Mrs. J. B. Taksande, depicting the importance of a mother as child's first teacher left everyone spell-bound. On

behalf of the entire non-teaching staff, Mr. Laxman Kale expressed his gratitude as well. It concluded with a

'thank you note' delivered by a student representative Ms. Akhila Reddy, marking the importance of teachers.

SKBCOP STRIVES FOR ACCREDITATION BY NAAC AND NBA

SMT. KISHORITAI BHOYAR COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, KAMPTEEOn 30-31st August, 2018, Smt. Kishoritai

Bhoyar College of Pharmacy, Kamptee faced a peer-team visit of the National Accreditation and

Assessment Council (NAAC), a national body providing assessment and accreditation to institutions

imparting higher education in different academic programmes. The peer team members were highly

experienced and gave a thorough assessment of the college, its infrastructure, facilities, herbal garden,

drug museum, and coordination among the faculty members. The evaluation was spread out over a period

of 1 and a half day, wherein their prime focus was corroboration of facts and figures with those submitted

in the self-assessment report. On 13-14th October, 2018, S.K.B. College of Pharmacy, Kamptee underwent

another visit by NBA evaluation team sent by the National Board of Accreditation to become accredited for

the same. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India was initially established by AICTE (All India

Council of Technical Education) under section 10(u) of AICTE act, in the year 1994, for periodic evaluations

of technical institutions & programs basis according to specified norms and standards as recommended by

AICTE. The evaluation visit was for 2 days wherein members met and interacted with the principal,

members of the management, faculty members (teaching and non-teaching staff), students, parents,

alumni and certain industrialists having collaborations with the institute. The schedule was followed

meticulously by the team; they were highly appreciative of the campus, facilities and the organization

amongst the teaching staff. They also scrutinized all the relevant files and documents and added that for

further inspections the files would have to be regularly maintained. They highlighted certain strengths and

weaknesses mentioning that the institution had excellent showcasing of their work and good potential for

research. The team also reviewed the classes being conducted and appreciated the use of innovative

learning techniques such as Think-pair-share and moodle undertaken by Teachers. It's a matter of pride

for SKB College of Pharmacy, Kamptee to have been accredited with grade ‘A’ with 3.19 score in NAAC first

cycle. Moreover, it was the highest score for Pharmacy colleges across India in this particular cycle.

DST sponsored ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS CAMP

The National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) under the aegis of

Department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored a 3-day ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS CAMP

supported by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), which was held from 27-29th

September, 2018 at Smt. Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy, Kamptee, Nagpur. Dr. Milind J. Umekar ,

Principal, was the convenor of the event. Dr. Kamlesh Wadher, and Mr. Nishant awandekar were the

coordinator and co- coordinator respectively. This 3-day camp was enthusiastically attended by over 150

students from different colleges. The camp addressed issues like 'Pharma Entrepreneurship and the

present scenario', 'Opportunities, Hurdles and challenges in entrepreneurship in Pharma sector, 'How to

start a SSI unit: Financial aspects of SSI unit including salient features of a project report', 'Technical and

commercial aspects of SSI unit', 'Schemes of assistance and support available from govt. agencies' and

'Personality Development and communication skill for better results'. The talks were delivered by reputed

entrepreneurs from the reputed Pharmaceutical companies of Nagpur. Mr. Ravleen Singh Khurana,

Managing Director, Nitika Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Yusuf Chimthanawala, MD, Mayon's Pharmaceuticals, Mr.

Santosh Deshpande, MD, BDA Pharma , Mr. Chetan Marwah, MD, Herbs India and Mr. Omprakash Bagdiya,

Chartered Accountant, from Nagpur. The camp also included an industrial visit to Mayon's

Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. to gain insights into the functioning of a manufacturing unit. Dr. Umekar

emphasized on the Entrepreneurship as a choice of career option in Pharmacy. The camp was well

received by all the participants and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Kamlesh Wadher.

Lloyd Institute of Management & Technology : Fresher's Welcome Party On 7th Sept'18

Lloyd Institute of Management & Technology

(Pharmacy) organized a sumptuous fresher's welcome

party on 7th Sept'18 for the newly admitted students

in D. Pharm, B. Pharm &M. Pharm 1st year, batches

2018. The juniors were welcomed by their seniors

with a tilak ceremony. Jovial smiles and high spirits

marked the welcome party for the students. The

s t u d e nt s wo r ke d u ntir i n g l y to p u t to ge t h e r

enterta inment programs that enthral led the

distinguished audience alike and drew them irresistibly on to the stage to join in the fun. The most

interesting part of the events was the selection of Miss Fresher and Mr. Fresher of the respective

departments. The students for these titles were selected by a jury consisting of the student representatives

and senior faculty members, who judged them on the basis of their talent, wit and intelligent answers in

the question rounds and appearance. Dr. VandanaArora,our fun-loving Director and Dr. Abdul Wadood

Siddiqui, our Principal, bestowed the final titles at this prime occasion. Yograj and Vaishnavi (From B.Pharm

1st Year), Shivang & Prerna (D. Pharm 1st year) were honoured as the Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher of the

Fresher Party. While Supreet & Charu (B. Pharm 1st year) stole the title of Mr. & Miss Spark of the Eve. The

party ended with a good time-span for breaking-a-leg at the dance floor with some promising lines-“The

magic in the air tuned into the chords of pulsating rhythmic hearts and bonds for the year that lay ahead.”

members, Police Patil, TantamuktiAdhyakshya, & villagers were present. Awareness rally was passing with

awareness slogan & posters by NSS students. Special guest lecture was organized at college seminar hall,

Mr. Tekale Sir ( R.F.O.) address the students & share the life of wild animals. Dr. S.P. Jain Sir explain

importance of life cycle. Mr. Rameshji Jadhav Sir, said the importance of forest & wildlife in balancing the

environment. Mr. Y. B. Ubarhande, NSS Program Officer & Mr. S. S. Kharat NSS Co- Program Officer &

supporting staff & NSS students took the effort for success of the program.

on “Revival, Modernization and Validation of Tribal

Medicine to Treat Life Threatening Diseases” on 16th

April , 2018. The event began with the auspicious

lamp-lighting ceremony at the hands of our Chief

Guest, Dr. Shailendra Saraf (Vice President, Pharmacy

Council of India and Vice Chancellor of Durg University,

Durg), Guest of Honour, Prof. V. K. Dixit (Retd.

Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. H.S Gour University Sagar), Dr. Swarnlata Saraf

(Vice-President, APTI Central Zone & Dean, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur), Dr. Prashant Shastri

(Dean, Agriculture College, Khandwa), Dr. D. K. Jain (Director, COP, IPS Academy, Indore), and Dr. Sanjay

Jain (Principal, IIP, Indore), Dr. Prashant Kodgire (Professor, Life Science, IIT Indore), Mrs. Alka Dubey

(Chairperson, SVGI), Mr. Amresh Dubey (Deputy Director, SVGI), Dr. P.K Dubey (Director, SVGI), and Dr. R.S

Tare (Principal, SVCE). After blessings of Goddess Saraswati ji, all the dignitaries were welcomed by

Flowers. After the floral welcome, Guru Vandana of Prof. V. K. Dixit was done by Dr. Shailendra Saraf, Dr.

Swarnlata Saraf, Dr. P. K Dubey, Dr. Sanjay Jain and other faculty members. All dignitaries enlightened the

students with their speech and words of wisdom. The welcome note was given by Dr. P. K. Dubey. At the end

of inaugural session all the guests unveiled the CD of Abstract Book and also launched one Association

named “Association of Progressive Pharmacists” with its website. This was followed by scientific session

that includes oral and poster presentations for students as well as faculties form different institutes. The

oral presentation competition was judged by Dr. Darshan Dubey (Professor, Vikram University, Ujjain) and

Dr. Gajanand Engla (Professor SOP, DAVV). The poster presentation competition was judged by Dr. Nirmal

Dongre (Professor, IIP), Dr. Dinesh Mishra (Narshee Monjee University, Shirpur), Dr. Anand Chourasiya

(Principal, Millennium College of Pharmacy), Dr. Sourabh Maru (Professor, SGSITS Indore), Dr. Shailesh Jain

(Principal, Patel College of Pharmacy, Bhopal), Dr. Manish Soni (Royal College of Pharmacy, Ratlam) and Dr.

Love Kumar Soni (Reader, DAVV, Indore). More than 55 posters were presented by the students and 103

papers were published in Abstract Book. The proceedings were published in International Journal

Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, indexed in Thomson Reuters. This seminar is graced with the

presence of Principals and Professors from various pharmacy colleges like IPS, IIP, SOP (DAVV), Acropolis,

Charak Institute of Pharmacy Mandleshwar, Dr. A. P. J, Abdul Kalam University, Patel College of Pharmacy

Bhopal, Royal College Ratlam, BRNCOP Mandsaur and many more. About 600 participants registered their

presence for the national conference. The Valedictory Ceremony was chaired by Prof. V.K Dixit, Dr. Prashant

Kodgire, Dr. P.K Dubey and Dr. Sanjay Jain. Dignitaries awarded winners of scientific sessions. Mr.

Satyaendra K. Shriavastava, Organizing Secretary, meticulously executed the National Conference. Vote of

thanks was given by Dr. Priya Jain.

MNR College of Pharmacy, Sangareddy, Gr. Hyderabad: Teacher's Day Celebrations

On behalf of MNR Educational Trust, Sangareddy,

“Teachers day” was celebrated on 5th September

2018 on the occasion of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's

birthday at MNR Auditorium, Sangareddy. The

program was inaugurated by the young and dynamic

Vice Chairman of MNR Educational Trust Mr. Ravi

Varma Manthena, and the presidential address was

given by Shri. M. N. Raju, Chairman, MNR Educational

Trust, Hyderabad. The program was graced by chief

controlling”. During the program the best teachers from various institutions of MNR Academy of Higher

Education and Research (MNR-AHER) campus, were honored with best teacher's awards. Around 1500

students, staff and Principals of various colleges of MNR-AHER campus participated in the celebrations.

Three faculty members from each college of MNR-AHER campus was selected for the best teacher's award

and in MNR College of Pharmacy, Dr. G. Saravanan, Professor, Dr. Vishakha S. Kulkarni, Associate Professor

& Dr. G. Preethi Prathyusha, Assistant Professor, were honoured with Best Teachers Award. Dr. V.

Alagarsamy, Principal, MNR College of Pharmacy, Sangareddy, congratulated the winners. On this occasion

the Research and Developmental activities of the faculty members of MNR-AHER campus were also

appreciated by providing incentives to encourage their research contributions. Best Researcher Award

also given to Dr. G. Saravanan, Professor, for his outstanding contribution towards research. Earlier Dr. V.

Alagarsamy and Dr. P. Subhash Chandra Bose received the Best Researcher Award. To encourage the

students, best student teacher contest was conducted. Adiba Maheen (IV B. Pharm) & Ch. Praveen Kumar

(II B. Pharm) were selected as best student teachers and the winners are honoured with prizes. The

function was also celebrated with cultural programs by students.

JSPMs Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy and Research, Tathawade, Pune organized Industrial and Environmental Tour

Industrial and Environmental Tour was organized for

Second Year B. Pharm at Parle G Manufacturing Unit,

Satara. Parle G is an Indian Private Limited Company.

Students were taken around the manufacturing plant and

were explained about the production and managing of

packaging process. Students also visited to Anand Agro

Tourism, Wai where they learned about various

agricultural activities. Prof. Asawari Pachauri, Prof Vinita

Patole and Prof. Yogesh Wagh accompanied the students.

One week fresher 's or ientation program was

organized and conducted at 'MNR Col lege of

Pharmacy, Sangareddy ' f rom 24/08/2018 to

01/09/2018 for B.Pharmacy & Pharm. D students

during the academic year 2018-19. On day one the

orientation program was inaugurated by the chief

guest and patron of the institute Shri M. N. Raju,

Chairman, MNR Educational trust, and Principal, Dr. V.

Alagarsamy. Shri. M. N. Raju addressed the gathering

with his experienced words about “How to start the

professional studies”.Vice Chairman of MNR Educational Trust Mr. Ravi Varma Manthena addressed the

gathering on need of discipline in higher education. Principal, Dr. V. Alagarsamy conducted interactive

session with the parents and students and delivered lecture on “Make in India Pharma”. Dr. P. Subhash

Chandra Bose, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, MNR College of Pharmacy, briefed the

students about rules and regulations of the institution and asked the students and parents to understand

and abide by the institutional rules and norms. On day 2, Dr. K. Pavan Kumar from Heartfulness Foundation,

Hyderabad delivered the lecture on “Awaken the leader within”. On day 3 Mr. Anirudh & Ms. Anusha from

Heartfulness Foundation, Hyderabad explained about “Achieving excellence through heartfulness

rejuvanation”. On day 4 interactive sessions are conducted by Mr. Mohan Rao & Mrs. Deepthi from

Heartfulness Foundation, Hyderabad about “Heartfulness relaxation & meditation”. On fifth day “Positive

thinking” was explained by Mr. Srinivas, soft skill expert to the students. Dr Vinod Nair, Director, NEKTAR

Therapeutics, Hyderabad, interacted with students on sixth day about “Opportunities in pharma industry”.

Around 130 students and 15 staff are benefitted by this one week orientation programme.

professional skill developments public training

program for preparation of Patent Agent examination

from 27th Aug 2018 to 7thSept 2018.The objective of

the training program was to create awareness and

importance of patent agent exam, to develop skills in

patents drafting, copyright, trademark, geographical indication and designs. To gain knowledge about the

filing and grant of patents and other intellectual property rights.

The programme was inaugurated with welcome speech of Mr. Pankaj P Borkar, Deputy Controller of Patent

and design, Head, RGNIIPM followed with introduction of program by Dr. Milind J. Umekar, Principal,

SKBCOP, Kamptee. Further, Ms. Pooja Maulikar, Examiner, Patent and Design briefed about patent agent

examination and Mrs. Chaya Satpute, Executive Senior Documentation Officer, RGNIIPM gave information

on schedule of training program. Ms. Neha Raut, Asst. Prof. SKBCOP Kamptee proposed vote of thanks for

the inaugural function. Thereafter, the several sessions were organized on various topics of IPR required for

preparation of patent agent exam.Throughout training program all the sessions were informative and

helpful for the studentsto clear their doubts regarding IP and its protection.The program was attended by

around34 students of SKBCOP and other IP professionals. Mr. Pankaj P. Borkar, Deputy Controller of Patent

A Seminar on“Awareness of ” SWAYAM

Smt. KishoritaiBhoyar College of Pharmacy, New Kampteeorganized a seminar on “Awareness of SWAYAM”

on18th August 2018 inthe seminar hall of SKB College of Pharmacy, Kamptee Nagpur.The objective of the

seminar was to create awareness of Study Web of Active Learning by Young and for Aspiring Minds

(SWAYAM) with the view to provide access to the best quality learning resourcesacross the country. The

seminar was conducted under the guidance of Dr.Rekha Sharma, University SWAYAM Co-ordinator,

RTMNU, Nagpur in presence of Dr. Milind J. Umekar, Convener & Principal, SKBCOP, Kamptee. The

SWAYAM Mentors Ms. Neha Raut, and Mr. Amol TatodeAsst. Prof., SKBCOP, Kamptee were coordinators for

the seminar and gave the details of program. Around 30 faculty members and 90 students of B.Pharm and

Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences: Brief report on the 2-Day workshop entitled “Hands on training on compression & coating of tablets held on 1st and 2ndSeptember 2018

Two days hands-on training on compression and

coating of tablets were conducted at Department of

Pharmaceutics, Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical

Sciences (RIPS) on 1st and 2nd September,2018. In the

inaugural session Dr.B.V.V.Ravi Kumar, Principal, RIPS

welcomed the industr ial experts and student

delegates of B. Pharm and M. Pharm, and explained

the importance of practical ski l ls to meet the

requirements of pharmaceutical industry. Smt. J.

Jayalakshmi, Chairperson & Dr. J. Surya Rao, Director, RIPS appreciated the efforts to reduce the gap

between industry and institute. Industrial experts Mr. Jagat Jyoti Sahu, AGM, MSAT &Mr. Durga Prasad,

Senior Team Member, Production, Dr. Redy's Laboratory, Visakhapatnam explained about the current

practices in compression & coating of tablets in Pharmaceutical Industry. Around 90 pharmacy students

have undergone this training. Dr.Ch. Niranjan Patra, Vice-Principal, RIPS delivered a address on the outcome of

the training programme in valedictory function. Mr. Goutam Kumar Jena was the Organizing Secretary for this

programme. It was supported by the teaching and non-teaching staff members of the institute.

Blood donation camp

To mark the celebration of World Pharmacist Day, the NSS unit of SKB College Of Pharmacy, Kamptee has

organised a blood donation camp in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPAI, Nagpur

Branch. Camp was inaugurated by the hands of

Dr.Milind Umekar, Principal SKB college of Pharmacy,

Kamptee and in the presence of NSS programme

officer Mr. R. T. Lohiya who is also a secretary of IPA,

Nagpur branch. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Umekar

expressed his views on pharmacist day and urged

students to increase sensitivity towards society. He

also said that if pharmacist will work for society, then

only they can get the desired recognition. It's a best

way to come close to society and work for society. Mr. R. T. Lohiya mentioned about the importance blood

donation and called students to donate blood for the welfare of society through NSS. In all ,38 students and

staff have donated blood. Donation camp was organised in association with Jeevan Jyoti Blood Bank,

Nagpur. Mr. R. T. Lohiya, Mr. Likhit Akotkar, Ms. Shivani Chandak, both student NSS coordinator, along with

other NSS volunteers worked hard for the success of programme.

ORGAN DONATION DAY

To create awareness on organ donation, tissue

transplantation and to break away from the myths

about organ donation, The National Service Scheme

(NSS) unit of SKB College of pharmacy organized a talk-

cum-seminar on Organ Donation and Tissue Transplantation.

The talkcum- seminar was held on 13 AUG, 2018 at

Seminar Hall of SKB College of pharmacy, Kamptee. A

total of 67 students participated in this talk-cum-seminar

despite having their final semester examination.

The programme was anchored by Ms. Madhura Dixit with the floral welcome of Dr. Anjali Bhandarkar. The

lecture started with the welcome speech on a brief introduction of Organ Transplantation by Dr. Anjali

Bhandarkar (obstetrician & gynecologist). Then introduction of programme was given by Mr. R.T Lohiya

(NSS officer). Dr. Anjali Bhandarkar explain type of transferable organs and tissues, discussed on renal

failure, differentiated between being in a state of Coma and being Brain Dead and summarized the current

case studies about the demands of organs transplantations and available resources. Dr. M. J Umekar also

motivate the student to come forward and work for this purpose and Dr. Dinesh Biyani also focused on

organ donation. At the end of the programme, Dr. M. J. Umekar felicitated Dr. Anjali Bhandarkar by more

than 70 filled forms of organ donation and momento. For the successful organization of programme NSS

student co-ordinator Mr. Likhit Akotkar and Ms. Shivani Chandak with all NSS volunteers work hard. The

programme was concluded by vote of thank by NSS programme officer Mr. R. T Lohiya.

Students of D. Pharm first year of Vardhaman College

of Pharmacy Koli, Karanja(Lad) celebrated Teachers

Day in their college. They organized a program and

On 25thseptember 2018 “World PharmacistsDay” was

Inaugural address was delivered by the dynamic Vice

Chairman of MNR Educational Trust Shri. Ravi Varma

Manthena. In his inaugural address he mentioned the

need of pharmacists in health care team. The program

Hyderabad. The “Theme: Pharmacists - Your Medicine Experts” was enlightened by Dr. V. Alagarsamy,

Chandra Bose, Professor, MNR College of Pharmacy, Sangareddy and National Anthem. On this occasion

Pharmacists Day on 25th September, 2018. This year's theme is “Pharmacists: Your medicines experts”. GIP

organized various events like literary competition (Pharma Quiz, Essay writing and Debate); cultural

(Song/Dance competition, Drama); blood donation camp and other including general awareness rally to

celebrate the world Pharmacist day. The programme started with invocation and welcome speech by Dr.

Ashok Dashora, Dean, Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy.

He mentioned that whenever and wherever “Medicine” is discussed, whether in distribution and retailing

of medicines in community or hospital pharmacy, manufacturing, quality, R&D, regulatory, academia etc.

Gurunanak Institution Technical Campus, School of

Pharmacy, Secunderabad, organized this poster and

oral presentation competition in the 3rd International

Conference on Innovation in Pharmaceutical Sciences

on 3rd and 4th August 2018 at Hyderabad with theme “Focus on Innovation to remain globally Competitive

in Pharma Sector”. A team of 32 students and Faculty members from Kishoritai Bhoyar College of

Pharmacy, Kamptee attended the conference. Almost 20 students presented their poster on various

topics. Plenary scientific sessions, oral and poster scientific sessions provide an opportunity to all the

student, researchers and professionals to review discuss and exchange latest innovative ideas and

research finding in pharmaceutical sciences and current trends in providing patient care. Students got the

chance to interact with Dr. B. Suresh (President of Pharmacy Council of India). It was an opportunity for

students to interact and gain knowledge on Innovations in Pharmaceutical Sciences from of

Pharmaceutical fraternity. Dr. Milind J. Umekar, Principal and Other faculty members of SKB College

congratulated the winner and motivated the students and encouraged them to get same type of

performance in the coming scientific conferences and presentations.

The research work was carried out under the able guidance of Dr. H.N. More, Professor

and Principal, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, Kolhapur and BOS – Chairman

(Pharmacy) Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He is having more than 18 years of teaching and research

experience. He has published many research papers in International & National journals and has presented

research work in various National and International conferences. He is having Editorial Membership in

many National and International Journals. He has guided three M. Pharm students and is life member of

APTI & Registered Pharmacist under Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council, Mumbai, India.
