Fighting Words• Similarly, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) offer

dramatic new means to analyze spatiality, even if these are often drenched in empiricist and positivist epistemologies [emphasis added]. GIS, therefore, is not simply reflective of the new importance of space, but also constitutive of it. (Warf and Arias, eds. 2008)
