Why Choose GO Fest?

GO Fest is a free annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor recreation. A celebration of everything outdoors which combines all the things outdoor enthusiasts love - camping, adventure activities, music, gear, races, demos, and beer all in a beautiful mountainous venue. GO Fest is hosted by the Roanoke Outside (501c3) Foundation and the City of Roanoke’s Parks and Recreation, so every sponsor dollar goes back into the festival, reaching more people and booking bigger and better events each year.

This isn’t your ordinary sit-in-your seat and hand out a pamphlet kind of event. Both participants and sponsors are encouraged to get involved. Festivals inspire consumers to get involved, learn something, try a new sport, cheer on pro athletes, taste local brews & food, take demo products for test runs or rides, enjoy live music and above all, have fun.

Unlike most outdoor festivals, our goal IS NOT to make money. Our goal is to encourage as many outdoor users as possible and to create the best festival experience for both attendees and sponsors. Every dollar you spend with us creates a better atmosphere for you to get involved with potential customers, or toward marketing you and your involvement. What Are Your Goals?

Think about what products or services you are planning to highlight this year, and then get creative. The bottom line is YOU have total control over your festival sponsorship. Just let us know what interests you and we’ll custom build an option just for your brand.

Note: The “Title” Sponsor option for each activity gives you exclusive rights both during our marketing campaigns as well as on-site at the festival. If that isn’t a priority for you, or your budget is limited, allow our staff to match you up with non-competing brands so you can still be involved with your favorite activation.

GO Fest helps sponsors meet their goals from brand awareness, to ambassador building, all the way to product sales. Regardless of your objective, our flexibility allows sponsors to be in control of their on-site experience, as well as their marketing involvement prior to the festival.

Since our goal is to provide an amazing festival experience. Sometimes equipment, staffing, in-kind product or services, or promotional reciprocation can be just as valuable as cash sponsorships. Below are some examples of resources that could be considered.

Did you know that “lumber-sexual” is the new hipster? Be ahead of the trend and get on board with this crowd pleasing spectacle. There will be 7 performances; each featuring log rolling, Axe throwing, chainsawing, pole climbing and other exciting competitions.

• Much like the ever-popular Ultimate Air Dogs, this show will draw in HUGE crowds throughout the entire festival.

• Activities that attract large crowds receive more attention on TV & radio, digital billboards, social media and in our year-round marketing campaign.

Lumber Jack

The best part of camping is really getting to spend quality time with people you care about. Tap into that connection by sponsoring our ever-growing camping area. Offer campers a group hang out lounge, VIP amenities, night time festivities, or demo gear. Regardless of your activation, you will be building life-long brand advocates.

Camping Zone

• With approval, title sponsorship dollars can go toward building infrastructure with tents, fire pits, lounge areas, etc which can be used in the future. Remember, our #1 goal is to build an amazing festival experience.

• There will be plenty of room for large banners, flags, balloons, or other promotions of your choosing. Title sponsorship may include assistance with banner creation. Ask your GO Fest coordinator for details.

Pump TrackTitle Sponsor: $7,000 (Exclusive) Contributing Sponsor: $2,300

• Highlight your product and get involved with the ever- growing cycling community.

• Our staff will help you schedule contests, races or demos at the track throughout the festival to feature your products.

• A dedicated emcee will run contests throughout the festival and deliver your custom message over a loud speaker.

The pump track is a highly visible, interactive attraction that garners attention from participants & spectators. Great fit for bike related equipment, tech gear, as well as lifestyle brands of all kinds. Have attendees test gear, participate in competitions and engage them with a full-time emcee provided by GO Fest.

Ultimate Air Dogs

Voted “Best Spectator Event” by 2014 & 2015 attendees, the Ultimate Air Dog Show is worth every penny. The show will be featured a minimum of 8 times throughout the weekend, and unlike other dog shows, festival goers can give it a try with their dog too!

• The Ultimate Air Dog show come with a charismatic emcee that will deliver your custom message to hundreds of people at each show.

• Let’s face it, people love their dogs. They consider their pup’s happiness when making big purchases including cars, boats, tents & more. Show them you care about their pet too.

Pro BMX Stunt Shows

It’s not hard to see why the ProTown BMX Stunt Show was a crowd favorite from last year’s event. This event draws in major crowds during SEVEN shows throughout the weekend, which can all be focused on your brand.

• The Pro Town team is very active on social media and tweets/posts constantly on your behalf throughout the festival.

• A dedicated emcee will deliver your message to hundreds of cheering fans.

• Centrally located activity with the largest on-site footprint, has fencing that runs 50’

across the festival. Utilize this prime location to hang your banners and promotional materials.

One of the most important parts of every festival is the MUSIC! Now GO Fest is offering a variety of commitment levels, so you can pick an option that matches your budget.

• Our music acts have the greatest attendance of any ONE show during the entire festival (~3k-5k spectators).

• Stage emcee will read custom announcements before & during music acts, allowing you to reach a greater number of ears with your message.

• Unlimited opportunities for creative brand placement on and around the stage (large balloons, flags, banners behind artists or beside stage).

• Music acts will receive a higher percentage of air time on radio & Pandora ads.

Silent Disco

New for 2016! Silent Discos have become extremely popular throughout the UK and in college towns, but it’s time to bring the party to Roanoke! Rather than a speaker system, music is broadcast via radio

transmitters directly into the dancers ears with wireless headphones. Communicate with Millennials and stand out at our event with this unique addition. • We are partnering up with the ENO lotus lounge

to bring this bad ass party to Roanoke. Perfect fit for any company looking to stand out from the crowd and do something totally different.

• Silent Disco sponsors would get tons of attention from social media and traditional media.

Pro Slackline Show or Competition

Slacklining has been around for decades, but once it appeared during the Super Bowl Half Time Show, participation in this sport has skyrocketed. This package is fully customizable, options include:

• A full fledged 20+ athlete competition like the image shown

• A high-line across 30’ scaffolding (perfect for branding)

• Several pros doing shows throughout the day on trick lines (no comp)

• Interactive demos & padded slackline play area for kids & adults.

• Choose one or ALL of the options (left) to create your desired impact. Official slackline competitions draw in thousands of spectators, whereas interactive demos allow for an intimate connection. Remember... what is your goal?

In 2014 our large demo pool was utilized to highlight water shoes, kayaks, boards, paddles, SUP Yoga, log rolling, and more. The options are matched only by the popularity of water sports in our region. There aren’t very many places where thousands of people can test out your products on-site.

In 2015 the Go Outside Festival was affiliated with seven competitive events such as the Superhero Race, a trail half marathon, an urban/wilderness adventure race, Cyclocross, Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, etc. Contact your GO Fest sponsor coordinator to learn more about each event & sponsorship opportunities.

Wild Gear ChaseThe Wild Gear Chase is a unique, urban scavenger hunt that requires participants to navigate to ~12 checkpoints within a two mile radius surrounding the festival site. At the end of the two hour time limit, racers are ranked by the number of checkpoints located and finish time. Everyone then lines up by their ranking, and enter the massive gear tent in 30 second increments.

Participants will spend hours plotting what gear they would like in the tent, which means they are engaging with your products first hand.

GO Fest FREE. This is a huge part of our mission that allows us to continue exposing new users to all the outdoors has to offer.

All exhibitors are strongly encouraged to go above and beyond by hosting contests, raffles, demonstrations, or giveaways at their booth.
