HAMMONTON EVENTS

THE EAGLE THEATRE

Dogfight, the upcoming show at the Eagle Theatre in Hammon-ton, is based on a 1991 Warner Bros. movie. Numerous talented young women and men com-prise the cast.

Complete with a pop music score, Dogfight describes three young Marines on November 21, 1963. The world changed the following day when President John F. Kennedy was assassi-nated.

Because there is a small, but growing conflict in Vietnam in Southeast Asia. They are ship-ping out the next day. As young men often do, they want to have a final night of partying.

Eddie, one of the three, meets Rose, a shy waitress, and treats her badly. She somehow then reverses his behavior, showing him how love and compassion tops meanness.

Shows are November 15 - De-cember 8, excluding Thanks-giving Day. Performance times are 7:30 p.m., Wednesday/Thursday; 8 p.m., Friday/Satur-day; 3 p.m., Saturday/Sunday. Tickets are $29-$39, depend-ing the day/time. General ad-mission on a first come, first served seating.

THANKSGIVING ACTIVITIES

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and appreciate what we have. The entire region is invited to an interfaith community cel-ebration of gratitude on Mon-day, November 25 at 7 p.m. at Beth El Synagogue in Margate. The event is sponsored by MO-SAIC, a community of Sacred Partners & Absecon Island Clergy Fellowship.

The celebration will feature choirs and clergy, fellowship and non-denominational pray-ing preaching and singing. Re-freshments to follow the service.

To further help our needy neigh-bors, bring canned or boxed foods-no glass-for the local food pantry.

THANKSGIVING DINNER

• The Palm at the Quarter in the Tropicana will offer a spe-cial Thanksgiving dinner from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Three courses, plus a favorite side, will cost $59 per person. Children under 12 may eat for $24.

Diners will choose from mul-tiple appetizers, sides and des-serts, but hand-carved turkey is the only main option. Who

• 12/31 10 p.m.-12:30 a.m.- Hammonton New Year’s Eve Bash. Whatever you do that day, ring in the New Year with a “Countdown to Midnight.” For-get the Times Square crystal ball.
