OPENING BLUNDER
We're going to make a- FAUX PAS.
It's going to be another bloomer.
We hope we don't go- too far . ..
But why care, we're
Quite happy as we are.
We have set our sights at Baxter, Yanks, and Channel 2,
And our city in- the spring.
And if perhaps you find that we have got at you,
Then the bells will start to ring !
We hope you won't make - no fuss
When you see how right - we are,
So come along enjoy yourself and laugh with us,
And you can make a- FAUX PAS.
At the ballet world, psychiatry and Hamlet too,
Then we'll take it on the lam.
Then the wharfies, Mary Queen of Scots - they get it too -
But we couldn't give a DAMN !
So open your programme wide,
Sit yourself back - and laugh.
Perhaps you'll think without a doubt we've got a hide,
But that'll be our- FAUX PAS.
CORN
FLAKES
The Queen of Hearts
- a card sharper than
most revived the
fashion- and we, be
ing of hearty stock,
revere her traditions.
Not for her the unsubtle club, and spades cut no "ice"
with this whistful monarch. The heads rolled by the Five
Hundred, but only, gentle Reader, the heads of those with
too much neck.
Having got the opening off our chest let us bustle on to
revue the miss-steps taken in this entertainment.
If we shock, we trust we are not revolting, for we merely
wish to amplify current thoughts and bring the battery of
ridicule to bear on them in such a manner that the Powers
that Be will not try to cell us up the Throsby.
Those who feel the draughts of the winds of change may
get a creek in the neck - (a drain on their resources?)!
