Dr. S. Kumar, Honorable Chancellor SDUAHER on 11-03-2019.
International Women’s day was celebrated by Women Empowerment Cell on 12-03-2019. Dr Rohini Katoch, I.P.S, Superintendent of Police, Kolar was the Chief Guest for the event .
Department of Clinical Nu-trition and Dietetics con-ducted Guest Lecture on 13-04-2019 titled: “Nutritional Aspect and Practical appli-cations of Enteral feeding in Health Care Systems”. Emi-nent nutritionist Ms. Payal was the resource person.
She highlighted on the importance and limitations of En-teral Feeding.
Department of Ophthalmology observed Glaucoma week on 14-03-2019. This is an awareness programme on preventable diseases of the eye to the Ophthalmic Assistants of Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts.
College day was celebrated on 22-03-2019. Programme in-clude distribution of degree certificates to the graduates who have completed MBBS. Dr. M R Jayaram, Hon’ble Chancel-lor, M.S. Ramaiah University of
Applied Sciences, Bangalore was the chief guest. In the event our Academy annual magazine SANKEERNA 2019 was released.

State level Preliminary RNTCP quiz for undergraduates was conducted on 22-03-2019 as a part of World TB day by Department of Community Medicine.
9th annual convocation was conducted on 23-03-2019 at Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Prof (Dr) B. N. Gangadhar, Director, NIMHANS, Banga-lore & Member, Board of Governors, MCI was the Chief Guest for the Occasion.
A total of 217 Students were conferred Degrees.
Department of Community Medicine conducted Tubercu-losis Jatha on 25-03-2019 which was flagged off by Dr. Narayanswamy, District Surgeon, SNR Hospital, Kolar.
CME on ‘Recent up-dates on management of TB under RNTCP’ was conducted by Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with De-partments of Pulmonolo-gy, Microbiology and
General Medicine and District TB society on 26-03-2019.
Department of General Medicine conducted Guest Lecture on “Role of ARNi in Heart failure” and “Management of Heart failure in Diabetes”. The resource persons were Dr. Niranjan Reddy
Cardiologist, RL Jalappa Narayana Hrudayalaya, Kolar and Dr. Abhijith Kulkarni, Cardiologist, Apollo Hospital, Baner ghatta, Bangalore on 29-03-2019.
Department of Orthopedics conducted CME and Workshop in association with Manipal Hospitals Bangalore on 04-04-2019, titled “Basic Arthoplasty” course and hands on work-shop.

CDLS conducted Guest Lecture by Anand Diagnostic consultants where they discussed about advances in Pathogen identification, Auto-immune Diagnostics in clini-cal practice and Quality assur-ance in laboratory on 21-06-2019.
NSS Cell and Department of Integrative Medicine celebrated International Yoga Day on 21-06-2019.
Department of Physiology conducted OSPE and OSCE Workshop from 21-6-2019 to 27-6-2019.
Yoga Orientation program for Police Personnel at District Armed Reserve Police Kolar was conducted by Department of Integrative Medicine on 24-06-2019 to 02-07-2019.
Department of Pediatrics conducted “Navajaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (NSSK) Programme (National Pro-gramme)” where 80 newly joined interns participated on 29-05-2019 & 30-05-2019.
Dr.Sri Raksha Sathya, Post Graduate in Department of Paediatics recieved first prize in scientific paper presentation in IAP BPS 6th Bangalore PEDICON 2019 on 08-06-2019 & 09-06-2019.
Department of Community Medicine celebrated World Food Safety day on 10-06-2019 at R L Jalappa School, Kolar. During the program aware-ness regarding Food safety & Hygiene was given to School
Children.
Mrs Krishnaveni.C from De-partment of Anatomy was award-ed Bharath Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Gold Medal Award on 20-07-2019 for Individual Achievements and National Development on The Occasion of Environmental & Na-
ture Conservation Day.
Dr. Lakshmi K Swamy & Dr. Pallavi N were felicitated as the Best outgoing Post Graduates for the year 2019-20 in MD & DA by ISA Kolar City Branch.
“Hands-on workshop on infection control practices” was conducted by Dept. of Microbiology for newly joined Interns of SDUMC on 04-04-2019 & 05-04-2019.
State level IAPSM World Health Day Quiz for under-graduates was conducted by Department of Community Medicine on 08-04-2019. Winners were felicitated with IAPSM Textbook of Community Medicine by
Dr. Prasanna Kamath, HOD, Department of Community Medicine.
Department of Community Medicine celebrated World Health day on 09-04-2019 at Devarayasamudra. ASHA workers, ANM’s, Anganwadi workers, Med-ical students, interns and staff of PHC and RHTC participated in the event.
Dept. of Microbiology conducted “Hands-on work-shop for junior doctors and Nurses on infection control practices using mannequins” where delegates from Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Banga-lore districts participated on 12-04-2019.
Dept. of Integrative Medi-cine conducted Orienta-tion program at Womens Degree College, SDC Col-lege, Kolar & at Sharada Degree College, Mulbagal on 26-04-2019, 08-05-2019 & 09-05-2019 respectively .
Dept. of Microbiology conducted guest lecture on topic entitled “Nanopore DNA sequencing” by Dr. Varsha Sridhar on 16-05-2019.
State level CME titled “Nutraceuticals in Health and Disease: Envisioning the Future” was organized by Department of Biochemis-try on 17-05-2019.
Workshop on Microteach-ing was conducted by UDOME on 25-05-2019 for Post Graduates.
Department of Community Medicine celebrated World No Tobacco day on 31-05-2019 at UHTC, Kolar.
World Environment day was celebrated by Department of Community Medicine on 06-06-2019 at the RHTC Devarayasamudra where students and staff of Govern-ment higher primary school participated along with Nursing and AHS students. A Jatha and Street Play was
also organized at Tamaka in association with NSS Unit, SDUAHER.
Blood Donation Day was celebrated by Department of Pathology on 14-6-2019.
CME and Live workshop titled “Beyond Mainstream ENT – Thinking out of box” was conducted by Depart-ment of ENT from 14-6-2019 to 16-6-2019.
Workshop for Police Officers Titled: Empowering Police Force, Crimes scene and Stress management was conducted by Department of Forensic Medicine on
18-06-2019. Sri. C. H. Pratap Reddy, I.P.S, Additional Director General of Police was the Chief Guest for the event.
Department of Pathology conducted guest lecture on the topic Risk Mitigation in transfusion services on 18-06-2019 by Dr. Shivaram. C.
CISP workshop was conducted on 17-06-2019 to 19-06-2019 at SDUMC.
Department of Integra-tive Medicine conducted Yoga event for Jail Inmates at District Jail, Kolar and at Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi, Mulbagal on 21-06-2019 .
