Course Duration The duration is 4.5 days – beginning on Monday at 0900 and ending on Friday at 1200.

Course Type This is an instructor led course. Approximately 50% of the time is used for hands-on labs and exercises.

Course Goal The goal of the course is to teach students how to configure and operate Advant Controller 400 and how to write programs in AMPL using on-line & off-line programming techniques.

Student Profile This training is targeted to system, process, application, instrumentation, and electrical and service engineers.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Students should have a basic knowledge of logic diagrams and how processes are controlled in order to gain maximum benefit from this course.

Course Duration The duration is 4.5 days – beginning on Monday at 0900 and ending on Friday at 1200.

Course Type This is an instructor led course. Approximately 50% of the time is used for hands-on labs and exercises.

Course Goal The goal of the course is to teach students how to configure and operate some of the more advanced features of the Advant Controller 400 series.

Student Profile This training is targeted to process, instrumentation, electrical and service engineers as well as designers and consultants with a need for detailed knowledge of ABB Master Advant 400 series controllers.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Students should have attended the GB870 (A331) course, together with either the GB350 (T680) or GB880 (A351) course.

Course Objectives Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: • Understand how the different

products in Advant Master interact

• Build up a process control system • Describe and use the facilities offered

by functional units included in an Advant Master system

• Develop complete control functions employing PIDCON, MOTCON, VALVECON and SEQ

• Cover the operator interface functionality as well as the control functions for these functional units

Course Duration The duration is 4.5 days – beginning on Monday at 0900 and ending on Friday at 1200.

Course Type This is an instructor led course. Approximately 50% of the time is used for hands-on labs and exercises.

Course Goal The goal of the course is to provide students with the base knowledge to be able to use and configure OS500 equipment.

Student Profile This training is targeted to those who are going to work with the Advant OS500 equipment, such as process controllers, instrumentation and electrical engineers.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Students should have attended the GB870 (A331) AC400 Configuration & Operation Training course

Student Profile This training is targeted to Maintenance Technicians and Engineers who will be responsible for the first-line maintenance of Advant Master systems.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Students should normally be expected to have a basic knowledge of electrical functions.

Course Duration The duration is 2 days – beginning on the first day at 0900 and ending on the last day at 1600.

Course Type This is an instructor led course. Approximately 80% of the time is used for hands-on labs and exercises.

Course Goal The goal of the course is to provide operator training for an Advant Master system.

Student Profile This training is targeted to operators or other personnel who need to become familiar with the operator functions in an ABB Master Advant System.

Prerequisites and Recommendations No formal requirements, but to obtain the maximum benefit from the course participants should ideally be familiar with the details of their own process.

Course Objectives Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: • Describe the signal path in an ABB

Master Advant system from the process to the operator station

• Find their way through the system using the ADVANT OS operator keyboard, trackball and mouse

• Be able to select process displays from menus and direct selection keys

• Read process and system status displays

• Carry out basic fault finding using the system displays from the operator station

Course Duration The duration is 5 days.

Course Type This is an instructor led course. Approximately 50% of the time is used for hands-on labs and exercises.

Course Goal The course is intended to provide engineers with the Microsoft Windows 2000 training necessary to support Process Portal - OperateIT Systems. These requirements may also be satisfied by attendance on Microsoft Training Courses 2151 and 2152.

Student Profile This training is primarily designed for System, Process and Application Engineers who will be engineering ABB IndustrialI T systems.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Knowledge of PC’s and the Windows operating environment together with a basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles is an essential pre-requisite for this course.

Course Goal The goal of this course is to teach plant personnel how to operate and use the functions of the Process Portal - Operate IT operator workstation.

Student Profile The students will be process operators and supervisors.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Students should have a background in process operations and be familiar with operating in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Course Objectives Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: • Describe how data is exchanged

between the controllers and operator console

• Describe the different types of operator interfaces – servers/clients etc.

• Explain the concept of an Aspect Object™

Course Goal The goal of this course is to provide engineers with the training necessary to configure OperateIT /Process Portal A.

Student Profile The student will typically be System, Process and Application Engineers.

Prerequisites and Recommendations Basic knowledge of Process Control The student must be experienced in the use of Microsoft Windows 2000. Pre-requisites for this course are either:

GB002 – “Windows 2000 for Process Portal” or: Microsoft 2151 and 2152 courses.
