أ عينان؟

المثبتتان على اللوحة، المسّيجة بحلٍم حولها كي ترسم القلب، ترمقان المارة بصمت، تحدقان جيًدا.. هكذا للون سٌر.. هكذا تشّد على الحكاية غطاءها الملّون، أو ربما يطفو جسُد الفكرة على

بحيرٍة تشكيلية كي يصطاد العابرون منها معنى الكالم.

أ يدان؟

تنقران للتذكر. الوحيدة بالحيلة تمسكا كي النسيان تغافالن أخيًرا، اتجاًها القلِب في تحّركان بطريقة طفيفة على الحلم، فيخرج من الحلم أحياء الذاكرة، يوميات تستيقظ مرة أخرى، قضايا

صغيرة تتفّقد صوتها، وأشياء بسيطة تنتظر في الصف لتكبر.

أ قدمان؟

تمشي عليهما الفكرة، من داخل اإلطار إلى خارجه، وتلمس بمكٍر جميل مالمح الناس فتلّونها. كل في الفرَح تحّك مراًرا، األسئلة تطرح صغيرة، طفلة الحقيقة فتصير المكان بداخل تجريان على أكثر يبقى أن يمكنه ال ومدهش جميل قزٍح وكل فنية، قطعة وكل ثقافية، مصنوعة

طريقة الخطوط المستقيمة!

تبدو هذه األسرار مفضوحة جًدا األلوان؟ ولَم الفكرة بكل هذه بّلل تمّر من هنا؟ من أي حياٍة، وُتقال بلغٍز أو بصراحة؟!

عاصمة المنامة ترتدي التشكيلية، للفنون السنوي البحرين لمعرض تجريًبا وثالثين تسع بعد السياحة العربية 2013م جلًدا ملوًنا، تصير من بشر وتطوف..

لم ينتِه المطر.. إنه فرح قزح، مرة أخرى.

The eyes admire the artwork, which is framed by a dream that draws the heart. They glance at passers-by in silence, and focus in on them. That’s the secret of color, and how a story acquires its colourful cover. Perhaps the idea floats the surface so that its admirers may glean from it the meaning of what it is trying to say.

The hands move the heart in one last push to fight and hold on to the idea. They gently tap and massage the dream to coax lucid dreams from within it. The memories emerge once more to be put together piece by piece and slowly develop.

The feet carry the idea from inside the frame to touch its admirers in a sly fashion. As they move, reality transforms into a young child with incessant questions that seeks joy in every piece of art and every shade of colour.

Which life is passing us by from this place? Who infused the idea with all these colours? And why do these secrets suddenly seem so exposed?

Once more, Manama: Capital of Arab Culture 2013 is delighted to puts on its multi-coloured coat as it brings you the 39th edition of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.

This year, the fine arts exhibition will act as an innovative form for debate in which the different artistic monologues will have an exclusive opportunity to communicate according to the forms chosen, from calligraphy to surrealism and abstract and modernist representations to more traditional cultural expressions. Representing an opportunity to highlight different schools of thought, artists’ perceptions and ideological backgrounds will be evoked freely in order to instigate a dialogue about pluralism and artistic visions, experiences and expressions.

يمتهن كتابة الفن، ويقّدس اللوحة بحروفيات نقية وعميقة. الفنان إبراهيم بو سعد الذي جاء المجرد. الفن حقيقة إلى اللغة مجاز به ويعبر العربي الحرف مع يتضامن المحرق، مدينة من يشتغل بصمت على أعماله فتثرثر هي نيابة عنه، تومئ وتنزاح إلى اللون والزخرفة في تجسيدها جامعة من الجميلة الفنون تخصص في بكالوريوس على 1978م العام في حصل للحلم. معرضه المدرسية. للكتب أول فني كأخصائي والتعليم التربية وزارة في حالًيا ويعمل بغداد، األول كان في العام 1985م، توالت بعدها معارضه األربعة عشر منها: »انتفاضة الحرف العربي«، »أضواء وظالل«، »تقاسيم«، »قناديل«، »موسيقى الوله«، »ترانيم«، »نهاية النقطة«، وآخرها كان »طوق الخارجية في المعارض العام 2012م في عمارة بن مطر. أقام بو سعد عدًدا من الحمامة« في الشارقة، الكويت، القاهرة، لندن، الواليات المتحدة األميركية، باريس وغيرها. كما حصد مجموعة ملتقى في مشاركته نظير األولى الجائزة 2000م، العام في الدانة جائزة التقديرية، الجوائز من إعمار الدولي للفنون بدبي، وجائزة السعفة الذهبية عن مشاركته معرض دول مجلس التعاون للخط العربي في مسقط. أكثر أعماله العالقة في الذاكرة، معرض »وجوه« مع الشاعر قاسم

حداد والموسيقي خالد الشيخ والمخرج الفني عبداهلل يوسف.

A Muharraq-based artist who lives and breathes art, specifically the art of Arabic calligraphy. Although he works in silence, his works speak volumes, gesturing and undulating through color and patterns in an almost dreamy sequence. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 1978 from Baghdad University, and currently works in the Ministry of Education as a Senior Technical Specialist on school textbooks. His first exhibition was in 1985, and has since held 14 exhibitions, including: “The Rise of the Arabic Letter”, “Lights and Shadows”, “Taqaseem”, “Lanterns,”, “The Music of Longing”, “Chants”, “The End of the Point”, and finally “Pigeon Collar” in 2012 at Bin Matar House. Bu Saad also held several exhibitions abroad in Sharjah, Kuwait, Cairo, United States, and Paris, among others. He is also a recipient of several awards, including Al-Danah Award in 2000 for his participation at the Emaar Arts Exhibition in Dubai, the Golden Palm Award at the GCC Arab Calligraphy Art Exhibition in Muscat. Among his most memorable works is “Faces” exhibition in collaboration with poet Qassim Haddad, musician Khaled Al-Shaikh, and director Abdullah Yousif.

لكل حياة قصة، وقصته الجميلة تحمل سرها العابر، بحداثة تجربته، برغبته في أن ينحت األبيض على وجه اللوحة كي ُتبصَر وترى. الفنان الشاب إبراهيم خليفة، يمسُك بلغته الناصعة في الفن، الحياة! يبدع كمن خاصة تجٍل لحظات في ويبدو الخاص، مختبره داخل اللون يمتحن ويجّرب. شارك إبراهيم خليفة في عدد من المعارض من بينها معرض بابكو األول، معرض »الحياة ألوان« البحرين ومعرض أفضل« مستقبل أجل »من المرأة معرض السعودية، العربية المملكة في

السنوي للفنون التشكيلية 38 واللذين أقيما بمتحف البحرين الوطني.

Every life tells a story, and his own story carries within it a secret rooted in his modernistic experiences and desires to splash white across his painting as if endowing it with the ability to see what is around it. The young artist Ebrahim Khalifa utilizes his artistic abilities to experiment with color in his private laboratory. He participated in several exhibitions, including the First Bapco Exhibition, “Life is Color” Exhibition in Saudi Arabia, “For A Better Future for Women” Exhibition, and the 38th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibitions held in Bahrain National Museum.

الفنان البحريني إبراهيم شريف، خارًجا من كل عمره إلى الفن فقط، يجيء من أواخر أربعينيات القرن الماضي، ممدًدا على ذاكرة جميلة ومرهفة، تستعيد الحياة كما بدت له في المرة األولى والمرات الالحقة أيًضا. حاصل على بكالوريوس في علوم اإلدارة إال أنه تفرع للفن تماًما، وكما ُأوِلَع بهذا العالم المدهش، فقد شارك في جميع معارض وزارة الثقافة منذ العام 1974م إلى جانب

سلسلة معارض أخرى داخل وخارج البحرين.

An artist through and through, Bahraini artist Ebrahim Sharif’s illustrious career dates back to the 1940’s. Stretching across decades of lovely memories, he preserves life as it once was and how it is now. Although he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management, he chose to devote his life to art, and took part in every exhibition put on by the Ministry of Culture since 1974, in addition to a series of exhibitions both in Bahrain and abroad.

Still tender and malleable, her sunny disposition shines through in her works. Despite her formal education in Business Management, the young artist Areej Rajab was unable to hide her passion for color, lines, and calligraphy; elements which she uses to capture moments of inspiration. She boldly left her imprint on the artistic scene through several solo exhibitions, including “Florals – 2010”, “Inner Gestures”, and “Ten Thoughts”.

He is a luminary amongst Bahraini fine artists. Despite his relatively humble media exposure, he never ceases to amaze with his works. His use of different tools and lines has become his signature. He participated in several exhibitions, most notably the GCC Exhibition in Tunisia, General Union of Arab Fine Artists exhibitions in Jordan, Morocco, and Kuwait, Cairo Biennale, as well as Bahrain Culture Week in China, Jordan, Morocco, and Kuwait. His works were also on display at “Aseela” Cultural Exhibition in Morocco, and 33rd to 36th editions of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.

Aymen Haji

للوحاته ساقان، لها أيًضا معتقداتها الجميلة التي انتبهت في لونها وتمردها إلى أشياء عميقة أكثر يملك نفسه، ليكون فيه يستعّد الذي بربيعه حاجي، أيمن الفنان تطفو. ألن وقتها حان من لغة لونية رحل بها إلى العراق في المرة األولى في العام 2008م ليشارك في معرض ربيع 2010م العام في ثم ومن المعاصر، للفن البحرين جمعية في مشاركته أتبعتها الشهادة، بدأ فيه مشاركة معرض العام األولى. وفي ذات الجائزة األلوان ربيع حيث حصد في مهرجان معارض مجموعة إلى بفنه انتقل كما وإنجازاته. إبداعاته التشكيلية للفنون السنوي البحرين

His works seem to have legs and their own set of wonderful beliefs which draw attention to deep thoughts looking to shine through. Aymen Haji took his artistic style to Iraq in 2008 to take part in the Spring of Martyrdom Exhibition, followed by participating at an exhibition held by the Bahrain Modern Arts Society. In 2010, he earned first place at the Spring of Colors Festival, and participated in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Festival for the first time. He also took his works on the road in exhibitions in India, Thailand, and the United States of America.

بديٌع جًدا كما اسمه، غارق حتى آخره في تشكيل عالمه. الفنان البحريني بديع البو بشيت يحمل في قلبه فكرة العالم برؤى بعيدة، انطلق طوياًل في معارض جماعية منذ منتصف سبعينات القرن الماضي، وتحديًدا من الكويت حين لم يكن عمره يتجاوز العشرين عاًما، ثم بدأ بتشكيل ثالثياته الخاصة واالندماج في معارض مشتركة، كان من بينها معرض البحرين السنوي للفنون التشكيلية الذي شارك فيه للمرة األولى في نسخته الخامسة عشر، مبرهًنا أن تجربته تستحق أن 2000م، خرج العام الفن. في الذي يستدعيه الفريدة أمام كل هذا السحر يكون لها بصمتها للمرة األولى من رداء الجماعة إلى معرضه الشخصي »رؤى«، وعادلت تجربته الشخصية ارتحاالت بعيدة وجميلة مارس فيها الفن في كل من الكويت، لندن، الجزائر، تونس، فرنسا، مصر، المغرب،

الصين والمملكة العربية السعودية.

Bahraini artist Badea Albubshait is a man with a vision. He boasts a long history of exhibitions dating back to the mid 70’s, namely in Kuwait when he was barely 20 years old. He began forming his own signature style and rose to prominence soon after through such exhibitions as the 15th Annual Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition. In 2000, he did his first solo exhibition named “Visions”, drawing on his long personal experiences in Kuwait, London, Algeria, Tunisia, France, Egypt, Morocco, China, and Saudi Arabia.

The expressions contained within her works speak of an unfinished idea that cannot be completed by simply adding a splash of color. Born in Bahrain 1988, and holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, Perrihan drew on her experiences and travels from Canada to Dubai in her works which she displayed in group and solo exhibitions. She also took part in several cultural events at Al-Riwaq Art Space and Ta’a Al-Shabab, and her works were displayed in the Art Hall at Bahrain Financial Harbor and 2nd Annual Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition for Female Bahraini Artists.

To put it simply, Bahraini artist Balqees Fakhro embodies the realism of art in her humanity and approach. The delicate nature of art add strength and conviction to her works to tell it like it is. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Art History from Lone Mountain College in San Francisco, USA. She is also a member of the International Center for Women Artists (ICWA). In 1994, she took part in the “Powers of Change: Arab Women Reshaping Reality” Exhibition which toured the USA for two years. She also travelled as a member of the GCC Friends of the Arts to several countries, including Damascus, Amman, Cairo, Tunis, Madrid, Bonn, Madrid, Istanbul, and New York. Her work entitled “City” was selected as the poster for the 19th Symposium at the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies in Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Balqees also worked as Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Bahrain for some time, and earned several awards over her career, including the Golden Palm Award at the Kuwait Biennale, and the Al-Danah Award at the 27th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.

Jaffar Al Oraibi

سيرة تشكيلية طويلة رغم أن تجربته يافعة، الفنان جعفر العريبي يجّرد األشياء كما يرى، يحلل ذائقته بطريقة مطبوعة، حيث اشتغل على فن الطباعة بشكل الفت إلى جانب تجربته الزيتية، وقد تتفق التجربة أحياًنا مع فضاء قراءته وأفكاره، فيصير أن يكون نتاجه إبداعًيا منفرًدا كما حدث في اشتغاله على الكتاب الفني المطبوع باليد »ولقد ذكرتك – معلقة عنترة بن شداد«. يدرك العريبي أن الفن التشكيلي كسائر الفنون األخرى، مجرد لعبة يتم تغيير قوانينها بحسب الزعيم، لذا فقد صنع من أعماله تناسًخا جمياًل لحاالته، كان األول منها في العام 1997م مناسبات في يتناقلها كان مدهشة فنية متابعات اللحظة تلك منذ ونسج األول، الشباب معرض شارك حينما المملكة من كل استضافت فيما والصين. األردن المغرب، الكويت، في حدث كما البحريني الثقافي األسبوع العربية السعودية والسويد معرضّي »مدى« األول والثاني. له سبعة معارض شخصية آخرها كان العام 2012م باريس، انترناشيونال ديزارت في 2006م على منحة إقامة فنان بالسيتي بمدينة دبي. حصل العريبي في العام ومنحة أخرى أيًضا في العام 2010م تابعة لمؤسسة دلفينا بلندن. ونظًرا تجربته الالمعة، فقد حصد العديد من الجوائز والشهادات التقديرية أهمها جائزة الفنانين العرب لصالون الشباب الخامس عشر بمصر، جائزة السعفة الفضية في المعرض الدوري السابع للفنون التشكيلية والخط العربي لفنانين دول مجلس التعاون الذي انعقد عام 2003م بالكويت، والجائزة األولى التي حصدها مناصفة خالل سمبوزيوم الديار القطرية األولى عام 2008م.

Despite his relatively brief career, his output has been prodigious. The artist Jaffar Al-Oraibi’s works are a reflection of how he sees his surroundings. In addition to his oil paintings, he has a passion for the art of printing which adds a unique flavour to his works, such as his book “And I Have Reminded You – Poem by Antara bin Shaddad”. To him, the fine arts a fluid game with ever-changing rules in which he constantly experiments. In 1997, he took part in the 1st Exhibition for Youth, and from then on he went to showcase his works in Kuwait, Morocco, Jordan, and China. His exhibition “Limit” was featured in Saudi Arabia and Sweden. He has seven solo exhibitions to his credit, the latest of which in 2012 in Dubai. In 2006, Jaffar won a grant as a resident artist in Cite Internationale des Artes, and another at the Delfina Foundation in London. In recognition of his brilliant works, he received several awards, most notably the 15th Young Arab Artists Salon in Egypt, Silver Palm Award at the 7th GCC Fine Arts and Calligraphy Exhibition in 2003 in Kuwait, and First Place at the 1st Al-Diyar Al-Qatariya Symposium in 2008.

Khalid Al Tohmazi

بين التجسيد والتجريد، تظهر شخوصه الرومنطيقية بمزجية فريدة، تطورت الحًقا إلى فضاءات موظفة في تجريد مفاهيمي يقترب كثيًرا إلى التعبيرية الحديثة. الفنان خالد الطهمازي، لم يتوقف فيه الفن منذ العام 1991م. أقام ستة معارض فردية في البحرين وكندا. كما ُعِرضت أعماله في مجموعة من المعارض الجماعية منها ما كان بمتحف البحرين الوطني، المتحف الوطني للفنون الجميلة في األردن، متحف الفن المعاصر في طهران، معهد العالم العربي في باريس، المركز الثقافي للمحيط الهادي في تابيه باإلضافة إلى صاالت عرض في كل من: البحرين، كندا، الكويت، السعودية، مصر، لبنان، اإلمارات العربية المتحدة، قطر، عمان. حاز على عدة جوائز منها: الجائزة األولى في المعرض التشكيلي التاسع لشباب مجلس التعاون الخليجي 1993م - الجائزة التقديرية في المعرض الوطني للفنون التشكيلية السادس والعشرون 1997م - الجائزة الرابعة لمسابقة أبيزا الدولية للفنون التشكيلية 2001م ، الجائزة

التقديرية من بينالي طهران الدولي للفنون اإلسالمية 2002م.

His romantic tendencies shine through his works in uniquely distinct blend which evolved over the years into more contemporary expressionist influences. Since 1991, the artist Khalid Al-Tohmazi has not stopped creating art, including six solo exhibitions in Bahrain and Canada. His works were also on display in several exhibitions in Bahrain National Museum, National Museum of Fine Arts in Jordan, Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran, Arab World Center in Paris, Pacific Cultural Center in Taipei, as well as galleries in Bahrain, Canada, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebnanon, UAE, Qatar, and Oman. His is a recipient of several awards, including First Place at the 9th GCC Fine Arts Exhibition for Youth in 1993, Honorary Award at the 26th Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1993, Fourth Place at the Ibiza International Competition for Fine Arts in 2001, and Honorary Award at the Tehran International Biennale for Islamic Arts in 2002.

المتمردة على كل ما الحلم، ينحت طبيعته الفنان الشاب خالد فرحان على مدارج أخيًرا، يحّط تلمسه يداه من خامات ومواد. يصنع طبيعته الذي هو عليها، ويستدعي الحياة في الجمادات جامعة من الفنية التربية بكالوريوس على حاصل فرحان خالد النحات بها. يمّر التي العابرة القاهرة وعضو جماعة الفنانين العرب في مصر. شارك للمرة األولى في مسابقة البحرين للفنون التشكيلية في العام 1997م، وانتقل لمشاركات محلية ودولية في العديد من ملتقيات النحت الدولي«، »سمبوزيوم البحرين »بينالي بور سعيد الخامس القومي«، »سمبوزيوم السنوية أهمها: عمان »سمبوزيوم للنحت«، الثاني الدولي هيركا »سمبوزيوم للنحت«، التاسع الدولي البرتغال »مدارج بعنوان 2005م العام في فردي معرض له كان كما وغيرها. للنحت« الثاني الدولي الحلم« مرفًقا بموسيقى محمد حداد. تجدر اإلشارة إلى أن فرحان قد حصد المركز الثاني في

جائزة شباب الجامعات لمجال النحت بمدينة القاهرة.

At long last, the young artist Khalid Farhan sets foot on the runway of dreams; sculpting all that is within the reach of his rebellious hands, and bringing life to inanimate objects. Khalid Farhan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Teaching from the University of Cairo, and is a member of the Arab Artists Society in Egypt. He first participated in the Bahrain Fine Arts Competition in `1997, and went on to participate in several local and international sculpture exhibitions, including: 5th Port Said Biennale, Bahrain International Symposium, 9th Sculpture Symposium in Portugal, 2nd International Herka Scuplture Symposium, 2nd International Oman Scuplture Symposium, among others. He also had a solo exhibition in 2005 entitled “Runway of Dream” which included music from Mohammed Haddad. Khaled also placed second at the Young University Sculptors Award in Cairo.

يجيب أن يحاول حيث الفن في التقليدية على متجرًئا واألفكار، الرمزيات الكثير في مندمًجا بعض األلغاز واألسئلة. الفنان البحريني خليفة محمد شويطر، يواصل اختبار العالم على محك السنوي البحرين معرض في بأعماله حاضًرا كان إذ المتنوعة، مشاركاته خالل من التشكيل »الدانة«. األولى الجائزة الذي حصد فيه الثالث والعشرين والسادس والثالثين التشكيلية للفنون التشكيلية للفنون قطر لمعرض التابع السالم أجل من عالمية فنون برنامج في شارك كما لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي حيث حصد الجائزة األولى لتميزه الفني. شارك شويطر أيًضا في معرض الناشئين الثامن والتاسع الذي تقيمه جمعية البحرين للفنون التشكيلية، حيث حصل في

المرة األولى على جائزة تقديرية، وتمكن في المرة الثانية من حيازة المركز األول.

Bahraini artist Khalifa Mohammed Showaiter indulges in symbolism and ideas, and rebels against conventionalism in art in her search for answers to various questions and riddles. Always one to experiment, he displayed his works in several exhibitions, including the 23rd and 36th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition – in which he earned Al-Danah Award. He also took part in a global arts program for peace organized by the GCC Fine Arts Exhibition held in Qatar where he also took home the top award. Khalifa also participated in the 28th Exhibition for Beginners organized by the Bahrain Society for Fine Arts, in which he took an honorary award the first time then First Place in only his second participation.

تجربتها العرادي. سارة البحرينية الفنانة لوحات بقلب متراصة هويات اإلنسان.. الوجه، الملمح، 1985م. شاركت في عدد من الحديثة تأخذ مسارها بخطوات سريعة وجريئة. سارة من مواليد دورات معرض البحرين السنوي للفنون التشكيلية 36، 37 و38. كما شاركت مع نادين جاليري في معرض البحرين السنوي للفنانات البحرينيات، إلى جانب اندماج أعمالها في معرض نساء لمستقبل في أعمالها بعض سارة الفنانة عرضت العربية، للثقافة عاصمة الدوحة احتفالية خالل أفضل.

»أيام بحرينية« بقطر. وال زالت محاوالتها تأخذ طريقها لصياغة الوجه الفني الخاص بها.

Expressions, faces, and mankind are entities which swirl around to form the focal point of the works of Bahraini artist Sarah Al-Aradi. Her contemporary experiences take fast bold steps forward in her pursuit to establish her style. Born in 1985, she participated in the 36th, 37th, and 38th editions of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition. Sara also took part in the Annual Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition for Female Bahraini Artists in collaboration with Nadine Gallery, and the “Towards A Better Future for Women” Exhibition. Her works were also displayed in the “Days of Bahrain” in Qatar during the Doha: Arab Capital of Culture celebrations.

المست الفن التشكيلي بقلبها، ومن ثم بأصابعها. هكذا تقول سيرة الفنانة سلوى المؤيد التي تلّقت الفن التشكيلي خارج المدرسة حيث كانت منجذبة للون والفن، فبدأت بالتعامل والتعلم مع مدرسة إسبانية تدعى »راكيل دوران كليج« منذ العام 1984م وحتى 1990م. من هنا، بدأت مشوارها الفني معتمدة على األسلوب االنطباعي والتعبيري التجريدي، وتسعى لتطوير قدراتها الفنية واكتشاف االتجاهات الجديدة في الفت التشكيلي عبر دورات فنية بالمعهد العالي للفنون التطبيقية بمصر. شاركت في العديد من المعارض التشكيلية منذ العام 1985م، وأقامت مع التشكيلي المصري مجدي الكفراوي معرًضا خاًصا في البحرين عام 2003م. كما شاركت في

العام الماضي في معرض جمعية الفن التشكيلي بدولة الكويت.

According to artist Salwa Al-Moayed, she first feels art with her heart and then her fingers. She opened up to the world of fine arts outside school under the mentorship of a Spanish teacher named Raquel Doran Cleg from 1984 to 1990 who helped her follow her passion for colors and art in general. Drawing heavily on the impressionist, abstract, and expressionist schools in her artistic endeavors, she is on a constant mission to develop her skills and find new avenues in the fine arts world, having taken part in several courses at the Higher Institute of Applied Arts in Egypt. Since 1985, she has been a frequent participant in fine arts exhibitions, and held an exhibition in Bahrain with Egyptian artist Majdi Al-Kafrawi in 2003. She also took part last year in the Fine Arts Society Exhibition in Kuwait.

An artist who delved into the arts world by sheer happenstance while still an interior design and history student at the University of Bahrain, whose hallways are still an inspiration to this day for his works, including “The Worry of Distance” and “Ishtar”. Since 2000, he carries the message for a more colorful world wherever he went. He took part in several exhibitions with such artists as Mohammed Al-Mahdi, and Anan and Jehan Saleh in “Bahrain – Art Select Dubai” exhibition, and with Al-Mahdi and Riyadh Mansour in “Waqif Center” held in Dar Al-Barih. He also participated in the Global Caricature Exhibition in Iran, the 4th Global Spring of Culture Festival in Iraq, Bahrain Cultural Days in Syria, “Tajaliyat” Exhibition in Jeddah, the Kuwait Fine Arts Exhibition – where he won Dr. Suad AlSubah Award, and the Annual Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition in 2007 where he was also honored.

كلية خريجة الهرمي، شفيقة البحرينية الفنانة حياة. كأسلوب التشكيلي بالفن متمسكة الفنون الجميلة بالقاهرة، اندمجت خالل مشوارها بالعديد من المعارض المشتركة في الكويت، قطر، دمشق، مسقط، فرنسا، المغرب وغيرها. وكانت لها مشاركات مميزة ضمن »أيام ثقافية بحرينية« في كل من األردن والصين، الكويت واإلمارات. تتبع إنسانيتها خالل العمل الفني، لذا كان وغيرها. السرطان وجمعية واألمومة الطفل لرعاية الخيرية المعارض بعض في حضورها لها لدول البصرية الفنون وملتقى )2012م( أفضل مستقبل أجل من المرأة معرض في شاركت مجلس التعاون بالمملكة العربية السعودية. نالت الهرمي جائزة تقديرية في معرض البحرين السنوي للفنون التشكيلية )2003م(، جائزة تقديرية في معرض اليوم العالمي للمرأة بجمعية البحرين للفن المعاصر والجائزة الفضية عن مشاركتها في المعرض السادس للفنون التشكيلية

Fine arts are a way of life for Bahraini artist Shafiqa Al-Hermi. A graduate of the College of Fine Arts in Cairo, she took part in several exhibitions throughout her career in Kuwait, Qatar, Damascus, Muscat, France, Morocco, and many others. She had notable participations in the “Bahrain Cultural Days” in Jordan, China, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. She follows her own sense of humanity through her work, which led to her taking part in numerous exhibitions to support a wide range of charitable causes. She also participated in the “Towards A Better Future for Women” Exhibition in 2012, and the GCC Visual Arts Convention in Saudi Arabia. She received an award in the International Women’s Day Exhibition at the Bahrain Society for Contemporary Arts, and Silver Award at the 6th Fine Arts & Calligraphy Exhibition in Muscat.

الصحراء وتحديًدا الطبيعة رسم خالل من االنطباعية المدرسة إلى منتمًيا الفنية مرحلته بدأ فترة خالل التجريد ثم ومن المجاز إلى الحًقا تدّرج ثم الشرقي، وسحرها تفاصيلها بكامل التسعينات في تكوين مزجي يجمع ما بين الطبيعة واألجسام والمساحات الخضراء. وفي حقله التجريبي الفني، حاول أن يبتكر فنًيا مجموعة من األعمال ثالثية األبعاد التي تستطيع االنتصاب بعيًدا عن أية حامالت، فاكتشف بالصدفة أسلوب اللوحات المحدبة بأدوات متعددة كالقماش وصفه: الذي جديد« منظور المحدبة: »اللوحة معارضه أهم من الياباني. والورنيش والخشب »االنحداب منح اللوحة منظورًا جديدًا أبعد من المنظور التقليدي، إذ يساهم في أخذ الناظر إلى داخل اللوحة، التي تعمل على مد جسر بين المشاهد والعمل الفني«، حيث قّدم األعمال على

شكل سلسلة فنية تبرز بصورة حركات وأعماق متداخلة ُتكَتشف بطرق مختلفة في كل زاوية.

He started his artistic journey as a disciple of the impressionist school, using nature and the desert as his inspiration. He then moved on to more metaphoric and abstract themes in the 90’s, combining nature, shapes, and green spaces. In his artistic search, he looked to innovate a series of three-dimensional works that stand alone, and in the process discovered the convex art forms which used various materials such as cloth, wood, and Japanese varnish. Among his most notable exhibitions is “The Convex Painting: A New Dimension”, in which he presented his works as a series which interweave movements and depths in an interesting way. He said about this exhibition, “The convex form gives the works a new dimension that goes beyond the traditional because it draws the viewer into the painting itself, acting as a bridge between the viewer and the work of art.”

التاريخ واسع وفضفاٌض لدى الفنان البحريني راشد العريفي الذي تمنحه سيرته الفنية الشاسعة انفرادية خاصة وذاتية مدهشة يمكن اكتشاف الفن من خاللها. العريفي هو مؤسس جمعية له تشهد مادته. وجامع الشعبي التراث متحف مؤسسي ومن 1970م، عام المعاصر الفن سيرته بمشاركات عميقة في جميع معارض أسرة هواة الفن منذ العام 1963م. وهو أول فنان بحريني يحصل على ترخيص بتأسيس جاليري، كما كان أول فنان بحريني يقيم معرًضا خاًصا به عام 1967م في نادي العروبة. تنّقل بأعماله إلى العديد من دول مجلس التعاون، باإلضافة إلى العديد الفنية نتاج خبرته العريفي العراق، فرنسا وغيرها. قّدم اليابان، مونت كارلو، سنغافورة، سلمان بمركز سنوات طيلة لألطفال الفنية الورش بتقديم وساهم والمحاضرات، الندوات من الثقافي. ُرّشح الفنان العريفي عام 1999م كشخصية مميزة في عالم الفن واإلبداع. له العديد من المؤلفات، منها: »فنون بحرينية«، »آفاق دلمونية« و«العمارة البحرينية«. وقد حصد في مشواره

History is able to stretch and flow according to renowned Bahraini artist Rashid Al-Oraifi. His long storied career enables him to discover and create art with ease. He founded the Bahrain Society for Contemporary Art in 1970, is one of the founders of the National Heritage Museum and chief collector. Since 1963, Al-Oraifi has been a familiar face at arts exhibitions, and is the first Bahraini artist to acquire a license to open an arts gallery, as well as the first Bahraini artist to hold a solo exhibition in 1967 at Al-Orouba Club. His works travelled far and wide, from the GCC to Singapore, Japan, Monte Carlo, Iraq, France, and many other locations across the globe. He also shared his experiences and passion for the arts at many symposia and forums, as well conducting workshops for kids at Salman Cultural Center. In 1999, he was nominated as an outstanding person in the arts world in recognition of his enormous contributions. He is also an accomplished author, among his most notable works are “Arts of Bahrain”, “Delmonic Horizons”, and “Architecture of Bahrain”. Al-Oraifi is a recipient of a large number of awards as well.

Carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, burdened with hopes that never sleep, Adel Mohammed Al-Abbasi has never ceased producing in his craft. Instead, he used it as an excuse to follow the paths he so chooses. After years spent pursuing economic and business degrees, interspersed with some cinematography courses, he remained connected to the world which took him the United States to Switzerland. He focused in his works on the identity and essence of mankind, which earned top honors in several competitions including “A Different View of the Messiah” in 2004, “Panasonic” from Bahrain Confidential photography competition in 2007, and Al-Danah Award at the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in 2011.

To Abbas Al-Mosawi, illustration was a mere idea and craft that sprang to life through his mentor, the respected Bahraini artists Dr. Ahmed Baqer. He then moved on to the lively multi-textured city of Cairo where he fell in love with the impressionist styles of the renowned illustrator Sabri Ragheb, and emulated his style in his works which showcase his simple rustic life in the Old Manama Souq and its surrounding villages which kept their unique character despite the incursion of modern civilization. This gives a logical explanation to his works which form a fantasy-filled bridge between the beauty of times past and reality of modern life, providing a space in which he captures and preserves life in Bahrain for posterity

While art seems to be an unconstrained and ever-changing language, in his hands it transforms into a written word that can be read or admired for hours on end. Abdulelah Al-Arab is a calligrapher and director who uses letters as an inspiration for his integrated works of art. He took home top honors in Egypt while still a student pursuing a Diploma in Arabic Calligraphy. In 1973, he was tasked with writing down the Constituion of the Kingdom of Bahrain. His proficiency in Arabic calligraphy also inspired him to establish the first center for Arabic Calligraphy in Bahrain.

From the Parson’s School of Design in New York, USA, and before that the National School for Fine Arts in Paris, Abdulrahim Hussain Sharif broke away from a world of convention to embrace the entire artistic world. He lives and breathes his works, which have taken him to over 70 exhibitions around the world from Paris, Damascus, Beirut, Geneva, New York, to Luxembourg, and other countries. He currently works as a Arts Professor at the University of Bahrain, and is a member of several judging panels. He is also a recipient of several awards, the latest of which was Al-Danah Award at the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in 1995 and 1996.

ربما بتمرده القريب جًدا من أصابعه، جعل من كل قطعة بين يديه مصنوعة فريدة، ونحًتا عميًقا يكشف عن مفارقات حياتية لن ينجبها فنان سواه. التشكيلي عبدالرسول محمد الغائب ينحت قطع في مداخالته ويستعيد أمامه، التي األليفة والمواد الخامات على يراه كما العالم وجه يألف جيًدا كل واحدة منها. بقدميه عبر إلى بريطانيا، اليونان وتركيا للتعرف على مدارس الفن، وفي وطنه البحرين عمل مدرًسا للتربية الفنية قبل أن يصبح أخصائي إشراف تربوي أول بقسم التربية الفنية في وزارة التربية والتعليم. في اشتغاله الفني، نحت السمه مكاًنا بالكويت، اإلمارات العربية المتحدة، سلطنة عمان والصين حيث دمغ منحوتة بارتفاع مترين في حديقة المنحوتات المختلفة، وكان عضو تحكيم والنحتية الفنية الملتقيات الغائب في عدد من العالمية. شارك في عدد من المسابقات. وحصد في مشواره العديد من الجوائز التقديرية، باإلضافة إلى جائزة

Through his rebellious fingertips, he makes every piece unique which underline paradoxes no other artist can bring to life. Artist Abdulrasool Mohammed Al-Ghayeb sculpts the world as he sees it through familiar everyday materials. He travelled to England, Greece, and Turkey to discover different schools of art, and in his home country Bahrain he worked as an arts teacher before becoming a Senior Specialist in Art at the Ministry of Education. In his artworks, he built a name for himself in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and China where he created a two-meter sculpture in the International Sculptures garden. Al-Ghayeb is a frequent participant in art exhibitions, and served as a judge in several competitions. In his career, he earned a large number of awards, including the Fastest Sculpture Award at the Sculpture Symposium in China in 2003.

Born into an artistic family, artist Abdulkarim Al-Arayyedh is a man filled with enough passion to express himself clearly through art and color. He boasts a distinguished career that rebels against conventionalism and taboos. As one of the founders of the Bahrain Society for Modern Art and long-time President, this stubborn artist is still capable of breaking free from the shackles of time to create his own style which he showcased in exhibitions around the world including Morocco, Singapore, Algeria, Cairo, and Jordan, as well as exhibitions held by the Ministry of Information. Al-Arayyedh also penned several books, including “Pioneers of the Fine Arts Movement in Bahrain” in 1982, “The Fine Arts Movement in Bahrain” in 1984, “Manama Over Five Centuries” in 2010, and “Days of Art and Literature” in 2012.

Never content with art as a talent, artist Adnan Al-Ahmed always has something to say through his artistic style which is inspired from the fine arts schools of France and his study of classic and expressionist art in Bianson. He draws from these sources on his works, using his amazing ability to communicate with the rest of the world in numerous exhibitions which never stray far from his French roots, taking from England, Switzerland, the GCC, Egypt, Taiwan, Bengladesh, and elsewhere. Al-Ahmed received numerous awards in his career, including the Golden Sail Award at the Kuwait Biennale in 1996, and the Judges Award at the 3rd Kuwait Exhibition for Fine Arts in 2012. Keenly aware of the ability of color to tell a story, he wrote a book on the life of the late artist Rashid Siwar, as well as a textbook for illustration for the Ministry of Education, and contributing to several publications by the Bahrain Society of Fine Arts.

From exotic materials, Bahraini artist Ali Mohammed Al-Mahmeed molds brings new entities to life. Currently serving as the President of the Bahrain Fine Arts Society and Coordinator General of the Bahrain Symposium for Sculpture. Many of his sculptures are on display at Bahrain National Museum, as well as Kuwait, England, Beirut, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Russia, France, and Cyprus. He also has three solo exhibitions to his credit, one of which was in Kuwait, and participated in 18 art conventions around the world with artists from different cultures and backgrounds, including the 15th and 16th Asian Biennale in Bengladesh, 25th International Publishing Expo in Spain, 8th Cairo Biennale, Arab Colors Exhibition in Tehran, among others. In 1994, he earned top honors for national monuments from the Central Municipalities Organization, Golden Palm Award at the 1st GCC Fine Arts Exhibition in Riyadh in 1989, and First Place for Scuplture at the 6th Fine Arts Exhibition for Bahraini Artists in 1977.

ال يبدو شبيًها بآخر، ذاته المنفردة ال تردد صوًتا سوى قلبه وهدير روحه. الفنان الشاب علي حسين ميرزا بعشرينيته يبسط المسرح الذي تعّلمه على هيئة لوحة وبطريقة غير مألوفة في استدعاء الحياة ومراياها. تخّرج من المعهد العالي للفنون المسرحية حيث يختص بتصميم ديكور األعمال المسرحية. وبسبب تعلقه بالفن، صار عليه كما اختار هو، أن يقدم األدوات الفنية والحيل الجميلة لألطفال في عدد من المراكز الثقافية. شارك في سلسلة من المعارض أهمها معارض »منامتنا«، الثاني في مسابقة »في حب 338« في مساحة الرواق. كما حصد المركز »أنا هو اآلخر« و«سوق

البحرين« التي أقامها مركز عيسى الثقافي في العام 2012م.

He an artist with a distinct style that echoes his very soul. Twenty-something artist Ali Hussain Mirza’s works are an unconventional panorama of life. A graduate of the Institute of Higher Education for Theater where he specialized in Stage Design, he followed his passion for art and performed for kids in several cultural centers. He also took part in several exhibitions such as “Our Manama”, “I Am the Other”, and “Souq 338” in Al-Riwaq Art Space. He also took home second place in the “For the Love of Bahrain” competition which was held by the Isa Cultural Center in 2012.

In the space occupying the distance between his heart and fingertips, artist Ali Khamis has a clear vision and firm belief in his individual artistic style. He started his career in 1986 when he became a member of the Photography Club in the Bahrain Fine Arts Society, followed by exhibitions in Egypt, Kuwait, Bengladesh, China, Jordan, Norway, and the GCC member states. He earned his first award in a competition organized by the World Health Organization in Switzerland, followed by first place prize in the Aramco Club competition in 1991, first place in a global arts exhibition for peace in 2000, two awards at the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in 2006 and 2007, and most recently the Dr. Suad Al Sabah Award at the 3rd GCC Fine Arts Exhibition in 2012.

His works a portrayal of the artist Ali Ebrahim Mubarak’s boldness, and abstract and metaphoric tendencies, as well his ability to encapsulate himself in a minute obscure idea. He held his first exhibition at the Bahrain Fine Arts Society back in 1995, which launched him on a trek across the world which covered Switzerland, Tunisia, Norway, Sharjah, Cairo, Morocco, China, and Jordan. He also formed a unique trifecta with artists Ali Khamis and Jafar Al-Oraibi in two graphic art exhibitions, and received two awards at the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in 2000 and 2001, as well as first place for Nature Illustration at the Bahrain Fine Arts Society exhibition.

كلغة التشكيل مع يتواصل الراشد عمر الفنان الفريد، التشكيلي تكوينه الخاص، أثره متتبًعا المستمرة المشاركة عبر الفني اشتغاله بدأ تجسيده. يحاول ما عميًقا تشرح وجميلة عفوية في معرض البحرين السنوي للفن التشكيلي، وجّرد تجربته على مرأى العالم في رحالت عديدة ستة له وغيرها. والمغرب باريس األردن، الصين، الكويت، لبنان، الشارقة، أوزبكستان، شملت 1998م بعنوان »الحداثة والتراث« بمركز الفنون، وآخرها معارض شخصية أولها كان في العام من والثانية األولى الجائزتين منها الجوائز من العديد حصد 2010م. عام »موعد« معرض في معرض شباب مجلس التعاون الخليجي للفنون التشكيلية في الكويت والبحرين، جائزة السعفة العام الشارقة. في التعاون في التشكيلية لدول مجلس للفنون الدوري المعرض الذهبية من إنجازاته آخر أما للجميع، للرياضة البحرينية للجنة شعار تصميم أحسن الراشد حقق 2008م،

فكانت في العام 2010م حينما حصد الجائزة األولى لمسابقة البحرين لفن المنمنمات.

He follows his own path to spontaneously communicate with his art in an impromptu dialogue that strives to portray his ideas. Omar Al-Rashid started his artistic journey through the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, and put his works on display for the world to see in places such as Uzbekistan, Sharjah, Lebanon, Kuwait, China, Jordan, Paris, Morocco, and others. He has six solo exhibitions to his credit, the first of which was “Modernism and Tradition” in 1998 at the Arts Center, and most recently “Maw’ed” in 2010. Among the numerous awards he received is First and Second Place Awards at the GCC Fine Arts Exhibition for Youth in Kuwait and Bahrain, respectively, and Golden Palm Award at the GCC Fine Arts Exhibition in Sharjah in 2008. He also won Best Design for the logo of Sports for Everyone Committee in Bahrain. His most recent award came in 2010 when he won First Place in the Miniatures Competition in Bahrain.

The works of renowned Iraqi artist Ghassan Mohsen are a unique interpretation of his world which revolves around colors and lines. Since his first exhibition held in Rotas Gallery in Pakistan in 1982, he never ceased to conjure up his dreams and delineate his reality with precision and symbolism which convey his individual style. He is a familiar face at the Arts Gallery in Baghdad, and has travelled the world to showcase his works in solo exhibitions in India, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and United States. To date, he has taken part in over 40 exhibitions, in addition to art workshops at Aseelah Festival in Morocco, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.

وتستعيد وجهها، مرايا الجامع فاطمة البحرينية الفنانة تجمع قلبها، شفاف خلف من التشكيل بذريعة األنثى الجميلة كي تمارس أزرقها وتمردها. يوم أينعت وجدت نفسها تكّرس الفن كشكل تقول فيه ما تريد. بدأت أولى مشاركاتها في الثامنة عشر من عمرها حين شاركت مسارها بعده تتبعت الوطني، العيد بمناسبة ُنِظم الذي التشكيلي الفن معارض أحد في الخاص في معارض الفنون التشكيلية الخاصة بوزارة اإلعالم، جمعية الفن المعاصر، مركز إلياس فرانسيس وغيرهم. وتّقفت أثر الفن في العديد من معارض ومسابقات دول مجلس التعاون. في مشوارها الفني، نالت عدًدا من الجوائز أهمها جائزة الفنانة واإلبداع بمركز إليانس فرانسيس، والجائزة الثانية في معرض الفن التشكيلي لدول الخليج العربي خالل دورتيه بالكويت ومملكة البحرين. كما حصدت أربع جوائز ما بين األولى والثانية بمعرض الزهور السنوي الذي ينظمه نادي

Bahraini artist Fatima Al-Jamea uses her heart as a mirror of her artistic expression which carries a distinctly feminine touch. She started his career at the tender age of 18 when she took part in one of the fine arts exhibitions held to commemorate Bahrain National Day, using that as a springboard to take part in several exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Information, Modern Art Society, Elias Frances Center, and others. She is also a familiar face in several GCC exhibitions and competitions, in which she earned several awards including “The Artist” and “Creativity” Awards from Elias Frances Center, and Second Place at the GCC Fine Arts Exhibition in Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as four top-two finishes in the Annual Flower Exhibition organized by the Bahrain Garden Club.

Her feminine side infused all her works in its clarity and oddness. The young artist Fatima Mansour Al-Sarhan’s fierce femininity pushed her to rebel in her works, not to be bound by conventions. She peers out to the world through her works with keen awareness and dreamy nature. Her works took her across various exhibitions the globe, including “Four Directions” Exhibition from 2003 – 2005, the Miniature Oil Paintings Exhibition in Barcelona in 2006, “Galleria de Art Montana” Exhibition in Italy in 2006, Sanaa Biennale in 2009, “Jewels” Exhibition in Damascus in 2009, International Contemporary Art Exhibition in Austria in 2009, and “Across the Gulf” Exhibition in Australia in 2009. She also has several solo exhibitions, including “Circles of Hope” at Bait Al-Fann in Damascus, “Spotlight” in Madrid in 2010 and Luxembourg in 2011 and 2012. Her latest exhibition “It’s Not Exactly Red” was held in Al-Barih Gallery in November 2012. Faeqa earned the Bahrain Fine Arts Award in 2007, as well as the GCC Golden Palm Award for Fine Arts.

In his career which spans over 30 years, artist Fareed Buqais is never satisified with mere ideas. A teacher by profession, he inspires the next generations through his craft. As one of the founders of the Bahrain Fine Arts Society, he has been a frequent contributor to solo and group exhibitions both in Bahrain and abroad since 1979, including Egypt, London in 1984, Singapore in 1985, Jordan in 1992, and Kuwait in 1995 which earned him several awards.

Fuad Al Binfalah

ال يكتفي باللون، تكفيه رائحة، ملمس، شكل وعيون بداخل النحِت تتأمل الخارج بصمت. الفنان النحات فؤاد علي البنفالح تعود ذاكرته إلى وقت قريب حين اصطدم بقدرة أصابعه على إحداث في االنتفاضة لدعم التشكيلية للفنون البحرين بجمعية األولة مشاركته في وذلك الجمال، العام 2002م. أما فردادته الجميلة فقد كانت واضحة في معرضه األول في يناير 2007م، الذي قّدم فيه مجموعة منتقاة من أعمال النحت على الخشب المحلي. أتبعه باشتغال فني صادم على الرخام في العام الذي يليه. وربما منذ تلك اللحظة صار عليه اكتشاف نفسه مراًرا كما حدث في معرضيه الالحقين في أبريل 2010م وفبراير 2011م. وقد حصد في العام 2008م جائزة

د. سعاد الصباح اإلبداعية نظير مشاركته في ملتقى الكويت لإلبداع التشكيلي.

Color is not enough. For him, a smell, texture, shape, and eyes which admire the outside world in silence. Sculptor Fuad Ali Al-Binfalah’s history of producing beautiful artworks dates back to his participation in the Bahrain Fine Arts Society in support of the Intifada in 2002. His unique style was evident in his first exhibition held in 2007, in which he showcased a select group of his sculptures done on local wood. He followed that with a striking array of marble artworks the following year, driving him to constantly re-invent himself and discover new forms of expression in his exhibitions in April 2010 and February 2011. In 2008, he earned Dr. Suad Al-Sabah Creativity Award for his participation in the Kuwait Fine Arts Exhibition.

ال يكتفي باللون، تكفيه رائحة، ملمس، شكل وعيون بداخل النحِت تتأمل الخارج بصمت. الفنان ترتدي الفنانة كريمة ياسين طه ذرائع عديدة وجميلة كي تودع الفن التشكيلي أسرارها الصغيرة التسعينيات أوائل منذ اإلسكندرية. جامعة من جميلة فنون بكالوروس على حاصلة واألليفة. 1990م وهي تشتغل بتوقيعها الخاص على أعمالها ولوحاتها التشكيلية. شاركت في العام المعارض من العديد في مشاركاتها جانب إلى التشكيلية للفنون السنوي المعرض في الفني الماراثون في بعدها مجدًدا وبرزت فهمي. عائشة وقصر القاهرة أتيليه في الجماعية لدعم المرأة في المغرب عام 2005م. أقامت كريمة معرًضا مشترًكا مع بلقيس فخرو ومريم »Art lounge« فخرو بجمعية البحرين للفنون التشكيلية. أما آخر مشاركاتها فكانت عبر معرض

في العام 2008م.

She uses her works as a place to embed her secrets. Kareema Yassin Taha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Alexandria. In 1990, she participated in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, and group exhibitions in Atelier Cairo and Aisha Fahmi Palace. She also had a notable participation at the arts festival held to support women in Morocco in 2005. Kareema had a joint exhibition with Balqees Fakhro and Mariam Fakhro at the Bahrain Society for Fine Arts. Her most recent showcase was at the “Art Lounge” Exhibition 2008.

His imagination drives him to produce striking and distinct works of art at a prodigious rate. A woman brimming with tenderness and dreamy visions, Maysa bint Sultan Al-Suwaidi’s works are characterized by their distinct shapes and impressions. Although she holds an MBA, she nonetheless is a strong presence in a large number of artistic events, including “Inner Gestures” in which she recited poems about the essence of colors. Maysa also participated in “Towards A Better Future for Women”, “A Woman’s Story”, “The Beauty of Youth Collection”, “Two Kingdoms in A Single Heart”, and most recently in Al-Kharafi International Biennale for Contemporary Arab Art in Kuwait. Four of her works were selected as covers of Arabic novels and critical studies in collaboration with Nainawa Publishing House. To further refine and hone her skills as an artist, she took part in several workshops and conducted several others. Maysa also received second place at the 3rd GCC Arts Expo in Kuwait.

Even his artworks sip coffee! His works are an obsession with leisurely day-to-day activities, open get-togethers, intimate hugs, and the delightful fragrance of coffee. Mohsen Al-Mubarak’s artworks are evidence of his poetic tendencies which almost jump out at the viewer. Born in 1974, Al-Mubarak is an artist and poet who specializes in using coffee in his various artistic endeavors. Dar Al-Barih recently hosted his exhibition entitled “Coffee, Sugar, and a Cigar”, and here is again taking part in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition for the second consecutive year.

خطاط وتشكيلي أنيق، من مدينة المحرق. يتقن توظيف الحرف في سياق اللون، ويمنح لنفسه مساحة واسعة يفرد عليها خياالته وعالقاته الفنية. الفنان البحريني محمود المال صنع لنفسه منظمة واختارت 1973م، العام في البحرين دستور من نسخة بخط ُكّلف إذ جميلة، منجزات بطاقات على لطبعها أعماله أحد 1989م العام في الطفولة لرعاية العالمية )اليونيسيف( للفنون السنوي البحرين معرض في الداخلية المشاركات من العديد له والمناسبات. األعياد العربي الخط معرض في شارك كما التشكيلية، للفنون البحرين جمعية معارض التشكيلية، لخطاطي البحرين في بيت القرآن )2002م( ومعرض الخط المعاصر الثاني في دار البارح )2007م(. توازي تجربته المحلية رحالت عالمية أخرى شملت: معرض صالون الفنانين الفرنسيين في باريس، معارض الخط العربي لفناني دول مجلس التعاون، بينالي القاهرة الدولي الثاني بمصر، معرض الخط العربي في ذكرى مرور خمسين عاًما على تأسيس الجامعة اللبنانية وانعقاد مؤتمر القمة العربية بلبنان ومعرض الخط العربي في بيت الفن بمدينة طرابلس. كما حصل على درع ملتقى

A Muharraq-based calligrapher and artist extraordinaire, Mahmood Al-Mulla is a master of utilizing letters in his works, using them as an open space to stretch his artistic talents to the limit. In 1973, he was tasked with penning the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in 1989, UNICEF selected one of his works for one of their commemorative cards. He has several exhibitions in Bahrain to his credit, including the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, Bahrain Fine Arts Society, Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition in Bait Al-Quran in 2002, and 2nd Contemporary Calligraphy in Dar Al-Barih in 2007. He took part in several exhibitions around the globe, including the French Artists Salon in Paris, calligraphy exhibitions around the GCC, 2nd International Cairo Biennale, Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition in Lebanon to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the University of Lebanon and Arabic Summit, and Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition at Bait Al-Fann in Tripoli. He earned his first award in 1977 at the 6th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, as well as the Convention of Arab Pioneers held in Doha in 2010.

Her works are distinct statement of beauty unlike any other. Bahraini artist Marwa bint Rashid Al Khalifa, a graduate of Emerson College in 1996, infuses her wild feminine spirit into all of her works. She held her first solo exhibition 2012, and in the same year took part in the 2nd Annual Fine Arts Exhibition for Bahraini Female Artists. She also won an award for her participation at the 38th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.

Filled with the vigor of life and vitality, Mariam Fakhro’s life as an artist is as active as one would expect from an artist of her stature. Her insights into everyday life are the secret to her works, which blend realism with her sense of longing and keen sensibilities, which incorporate spaces, places, and people into a single entity unique to human life. She showcased her works in several exhibitions including “Bahraini Female Artists” Exhibition in Qatar, “Annual Exhibition for Bahraini Female Fine Artists”, “Professional Bahraini Fine Artist Exhibition” in Paris. Her highest ambition was realized in 2011 when she opened her first solo exhibition named “The Longing for Places” in which she presented 25 artworks representing the 25 years of her life an artist.

Bold in his use of color, young artist Naji Siwar immerses himself in finding interconnected worlds within his works. Born in 1982, he specializes in interior design and furniture, and is a member of the Bahrain Society for Contemporary Art. He independently started to participate in student exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Hussaini artworks 10 years ago. This is his first time participating in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.

بهواجسها الصغيرة والعميقة، تخرج الفنانة نبيلة الخير من واقعها إلى المكان األبعد واألجمل، تكتمل فيها الفراشة كلما غمست أصابعها في اللوحة الفنية التشكيلية وتبدأ األنثى فيها تتمرد بشقاوة أحياًنا أو بوداعة في أحيان أخرى. تتأنى كثيًرا في أعمالها الجميلة، لذا ففي رصيدها أربعة لها كان كما )2004م(، الكويت وفي البحرين، في 2002م العام منذ فقط، فريدة معارض معرض خاص في سياق مهرجان الدوحة الثقافي )2005م( وأخيًرا في صالة الرواق حيث أقيم معرضها »أجناس« )2007م(. شاركت الخير بكثافة في معارض الفن التشكيلي الخاصة بوزارة باريس األردن، بكين، القاهرة، الكويت، مسقط، في متعددة مشاركات إلى باإلضافة اإلعالم،

وغيرها. نالت في العام 2003م جائزة السعفة الفضية عن مشاركتها في مهرجان القرين.

From her innermost feelings, artist Nabeela Al-Khaier emerges from her reality to a place more distant and beautiful. Her feminine nature breaks through, sometimes lashing out, and at other times with a gentle caress. Methodical to a fault, she has four solo exhibitions to her cedit, including one in Bahrain 2002 and Kuwait in 2004. She also had an exhibition in the Doha Cultural Festival in 2005, and most recently “Ajnaas” at Al-Riwaq Art Space in 2007. Nabila is a frequent contributor to fine arts exhibitions put on by the Ministry of Information, in addition to participations in Muscat, Kuwait, Cairo, Beijing, Jordan, Paris, and others. In 2003, she received the Silver Palm award for her participation at “Al-Qareen” Festival.

Her feminine soul remains ever-alert and ready to break free and follow its dreams. Artist Hadeer Al-Baqali got her start through the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in 2006, and went on to take home several awards in subsequent editions in 2009, 2011, and 2012. She took part in several local exhibitions including the Bahrain International Garden Show, Modern Art Society, Dar Al-Barih, Al-Riwaq, and others. She also contributed to exhibitions in Alexandria, Sharm Al-Shaikh, Qatar, 2nd Kuwait Fine Arts Exhibition, and GCC Visual Arts Exhibition held in Jeddah.

Waheeda Malallah is a multi-dimensional Bahraini artist, always looking to push the envelope in her work as a graphic designer, fine artist, photographer, and short film producer. Her avant-garde style never ceases to astound all who observe it. She took part in several exhibitions with artists from different generations, including exhibitions in Spain, Egypt, north Africa, Morocco, Slovenia, Greece, San Francisco, Germany, and Denmark, among others. She also participated in specialist exhibitions, most notable of which include “Modern Curves” and “More Darkness… More Light”. Her credits also include filmmaking workshops with Egyptian director Hala Jalal Global Artists Workshops in Jordan, and another on kids cartoons in 2007 organized by Al-Riwaq arts space. She earned several awards over her career, including awards at the “Women & Creativity”, 1st Yamaha Fine Arts Exhibition for Youth, “First Talents” Exhibition, and “Inside Edward Said Exhibition”, as well as the Golden Pyramid Award at the 1st International Media Convention for Youth at Qasr Al-Funoon in Cairo.
