Needs analysis
1st phase of analysis It focuses on determining the current state and
the desired state and the discrepancies between them + establishes priorities for action

Job/task analysis
Breaking down the job into duties and tasks, determining the knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSA) that job performers must have.
Procedure:1. Define the position title2. Identify all job-related duties3. Identify all tasks4. Create a task hierarchy by listing all
superordinate tasks with their subordinate tasks.
What are tasks?
Tasks have a definite beginning and end. Tasks are of short duration. A task can be observed. Tasks are independent of other actions. Tasks start with a verb or highly specific action.
Audience analysis
Number of people Primary vs. secondary audience Age, gender Language or cultural background Motivation level General education and background Job function Skills and knowledge relative to the course Technical skills relative to course delivery mode Environment Previous training or job experience
