天倫之樂！

一年一度的中秋節，除了市場上，各色月餅紛紛擺上貨架，許多人

也趁著這個小假期想好好跟家人團聚或出去旅遊放鬆心情。中國自

古以來都很重視過節，中秋節對於國人來說，是一個舉家團圓的日

子，吃月餅，賞滿月，豐盛的水果擺上，一家人其樂融融。每當這

種和諧而美好的畫面出現時，總是會引來一片羨慕之音。

然而，在聖經中也給我們介紹了一種高於人倫關係的天倫世界。中

秋享受美好的人倫的同時，不妨讓我們也來思考另外一個天倫的世

界。耶穌來到這個世界，給我們帶來的不僅是血緣的世界，而是天

國。在天國的世界裡面，人們並不受血緣關係的束縛。

在神的家中，所有的人都是一家人，所有的人都沒有區分，都是神

所愛的孩子。中秋月圓之夜，作為基督徒的我們，也同樣可以一起

來默想主耶穌來到這個世界帶給我們的更大的世界。當我們與家人

團聚，當我們跟親友聚會時，也同樣來默想我們天父的話語。他是

多麼希望他的所有兒女能夠生活在一個更大的國度當中，並且每個

人都可以在這個國度當中自由喜樂的生活。

The Living Water Fellowship has a lot of activities in September. We began the month with a camping trip to Lake Perris. The place was like an oven with the temperature was close to 110 °F, but that makes the water activity more fun. We had kayak, swam, and

played “monkey steal ball” at the lake. At night, it was warm enough for us to sit outside watching the stars comfortably. It was a good experience for us to appreciate God’s creation, learn how to work with each other

(分工合作), and got to

know each other even more. Thanks Marco and Ken for planning and organizing the camping trip for us! On 9/5, we had a Mid-Autumn Festival potluck dinner. Byron prepared a Jeopardy game with bible, random, and Mid-Autumn festival questions. The girls blew the

boys away with 5500 points to a whopping 1 point for the guys. What can I say, the guys are all gentlemen. It was a fun and relaxing night, and we learned that James Kwok was a very good cook.

On 9/12, we had a Mission & Volunteering Sharing night. Raymond shared about his

wheelchair ministry trip with the HIS Foundation’s wheelchair in Inner Mongolia, while Ken shared about the LWF’s home building for the poor volunteer work with the Habitat of Humanity. Through Raymond and Ken’s sharing, it helped us to remember that there are so many unlucky people in

the world who are in so much need both spiritually and physically. As Christians, we need to step out of our comfort zones to help others and share the Good News with them.

On 9/19, we had a non-traditional bible study by reading the Book of Acts and acting out the scenes. We studied Paul’s third mission trip and journey to Rome and through all the drama scenes, we had experienced “first hand” of what Paul had gone through and how God had protected him through all the dangers. We can certainly learn from Paul that although mission is not easy, God will give us the wisdom, strength, and the Holy Spiritual to guide us. And one great news, our new sister Amy Chan has accepted our Lord Jesus Christ! Congratulations Amy! Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord for another

blissful month in Living Stone! The

month of September is always an

exciting one as we prepare the season of

outreach in UCI and IVC. Thank you

Jesus for bringing new brothers and

sisters to the Living Stone family each year. We have

experienced highs and lows in the past years but our God is full

of grace. He is perfectly good and strong. May God guide every

one of us to rejoice and walk in His glorious truth as we

continue to grow.

8/29 Cell Group

It was a joyful cell group meeting for the girls! We did quite a

lot in one evening. Praise the Lord for such fun moments over a

delicious dinner, study on Isaac, prayer for each other, etc. We

are very excited to have Vonnie’s little sister, Monette, to join

our cell group for the very first time. After praise-sharing

prayer, we made green tea ice cream and mocha together for

dessert, and worked on little craft projects for the upcoming

outreach as a new academic year approaches.

This Friday we continued to read Acts Chapter 7 under Nick’s

lead. This chapter focuses on Stephen and his martyrdom.

Reflecting upon Stephen’s message to the ones who hated him,

we saw how much he has trusted in Jesus and His truth.

Stephen was also full of grace and prayed for the ones who

wronged him. From Stephen’s encounter, we saw he could die

for Jesus like that. The sins in our world are so great that many

still persecute Christians. May the Lord continue to sustain our

hearts to seek and trust Him and love our neighbors and

enemies. After Bible study, we held a small celebration for Ian’s

birthday. Happy Birthday Ian!

9/17 Outreach at IVC Campus

We are back on IVC campus after two years, and it’s good to be

back on campus months after graduation! We’re very grateful

to have Sandy, GS, and Margaret’s help in this outreach

experience. It was great to see many young faces on campus

regardless of what languages they speak. A student who

currently serves at other church stopped by our booth. She

later shared her joy and burden with us and we just started

praying together. It is truly amazing to see how God brings His

people together and uses the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts

through His love. On another note, welcome Dickson, Laura,

Tony, and Ah Seng to join our little family. What a great start!

We’ll start outreaching in UCI starting 9/29, and we’re doing

something special this year in our outreach booth. If you want

with us on 10/12 during her visit with us. Yay! =)

� Pray for Terry's parent's health and salvation. Pray for Terry

and I to have better time management so we can spend more

time with his parents.

活石 FM 245 活石採訪組

這次活石 FM 請來的嘉賓是 Kelvin Chiu；Kelvin 是大學二年級生，

是活石團契的御用游泳教練、網球小子、全方位運動健將，也偶爾

在週五聚會裡中氣十足地帶領我們唱詩敬拜。感謝神， 通過這次訪

問讓我們有機會更加了解 Kelvin!

Q: 你最喜歡什麼運動？

A: 喜歡的運動太多了，真的好難選擇！如果要說頭四位，應該是游

泳、tennis、American football 和 soccer。

Q: 是什麼讓你決定過來美國唸大學？唸什麼專業？

A: 因為我在美國出生，在香港長大，讀完高中希望出國留學，見識

一下這個世界。去年我唸 Bioscience 為做眼科醫生作準備。逐漸卻

發現那條路太漫長了，我希望可以早一點進入社會。所以我今年改

了方向唸 Kinesiology，因為跟運動有關，自己也很感興趣。

Q: 知道你從小已經開始去教會，你的信仰歷程是怎樣的？路途上有

什麼特別影響你的人嗎？

A: 我在媽媽的肚子裡面已經開始去教會了 ;) 因為我從小在教會長大，

所以印象中沒有一個特別深刻的從未信到信的轉捩點。不過在我升

上中學後曾有一段時間，因為抗拒團契常常玩遊戲的模式（感覺好

像是為玩而玩，跟聖經關係不大，浪費時間），而對團契聚會感到

抽離、厭倦。最影響我的人應該是我的媽媽，我小時候媽媽總會跟

我一起禱告，講聖經故事給我聽，讓我更加認識神。長大後，最影

響我的是身邊的基督徒朋友。

Q: 來了美國後，跟家人的相處和關係有沒有改變？

A: 可能因為不能常常見面，所以媽媽和其他家人比以前對我更加關

心，一有空就會用 text, call, Skype 聯絡。

Q: 你是如何來到 CBCCOC 和 活石團契的？

A: 來到新的環境，我覺得應該重新找個屬靈的家，所以跟著姑媽一

起來這裡聚會。一開始其實對參加團契有點猶豫，但慢慢也很想找

到一群屬靈的朋友，也跟 Benny, Ian 他們熟起來，就投入起來了。

Q: 你的 Favorite LSF Moment 是什麼？

A: 應該是四月份的 retreat，我覺得整個退修營都很好；雖然在香港

也參加過類似的 camp，但從來都沒有如此深刻。

Q: 你對於活石團契有什麼期盼？

A: 希望見到更加多人！我明白這個年齡的人一般都很愛玩，比較少

人願意專心 commit to 每週五來團契。希望今年能接觸更多新人、

更多新同工，一起努力加油。

Q: 你最喜歡的經文是什麼？

A: 詩篇 18:39。美式足球 49ers 的一位我很喜歡的 Quarterback 手臂

紋上了這節經文。覺得前面縱有苦難或問題，上帝總會安排好前面

的路，叫我們一定能跨過，提醒我們對上帝有信心，都對自己有信

心。

因為你曾以力量束我的腰，使我能爭戰；你也使那起來攻擊我的都

服在我以下。You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my

adversaries. - Psalm 18:39

Q: 可以怎樣為你禱告？對弟兄姐妹有什麼勉勵？

A: 主要也是學業上吧。因為我這個學期在非常非常倉促的情況下轉

了 major，所以在某些課堂的挑戰比較大，對於前路也仍有點模糊。

希望神帶領我前面的路。對大家想說的是：為你的目標奮鬥吧！

Finish Strong!

初信主時，我很少讀神的話，卻對聖經抱著許多誤解。例如，

我誤解聖經裡面的人（如亞伯拉罕、大衛、保羅等）都是遙不

可及的屬靈高人，與自己不能扯上什麼關係。但當我願意翻開

聖經時，才驚奇發現亞伯拉罕的害怕和小信，雅各的處處謀算

和抓住不放，以利亞的屬靈低沈，大衛的姦淫和謀殺，希西家

面對大敵時的懼怕等。原來，我們都不過是人，有剛強的時候，

有軟弱的時候，但在一切背後的真正主角，是不改變的、定意

愛我們到底的天父！我們有機會在神生命建造學校中成長，是

最幸福的。

其中，讀到一個個猶太王和以色列王的生平時，無論他們作王

多久，都會有一句「某某行耶和華眼中看為正的事」或「某某

行耶和華眼中看為惡的事」。讓我反思，究竟自己每時每刻所

作所想在神的眼裡是看為正的嗎？還是讓主傷心呢？哦主啊，

我需要有你在我生命中！

然後，我進一步看幾個猶太王的故事，每當讀到他們在害怕中，

在面對大敵時，在憂傷懊悔裡所作的禱告和宣告，都叫我很感

動，很受激勵，例如：

希西家：「你們當剛強壯膽，不要因亞述王和跟隨他的大軍恐懼、驚慌；因為與我們同在的，比與他們同在的更大。與他們同在的是肉臂，與我們同在的是耶和華我們的神，他必幫助我們，為我們爭戰。」(2 Chronicles 32:7-8)

約沙發：在恐怖的大軍臨到時，帶領人民尋求耶和華，承認他們無力抵擋，也不知道怎樣行，又宣告勝敗不在乎他們，乃在乎神。最後，他們迎戰，但走在軍隊最前線的，竟然不是戰士，而是穿上聖潔禮服，歌唱讚美神的人！(2 Chronicles 20)

當我們面對著絕境和黑暗仍然憑信心宣告神的名，在黑暗裡也

讚美祂，神總讓我們經歷祂的信實、能力、和得勝！你願意一

同尋求和經歷神嗎？

但是，王的故事卻還未完結。在經歷神所成就的勝利後，在經

過多年的平順後，最後發生什麼事呢？竟然有很多都跌倒了、

忘記神了、依靠人的勢力了！例如：

亞撒：早年靠神打敗外敵，進行改革，砍下偶像，帶領人盡心盡意尋求耶和華。神賜給他們四境平安，從他在位 15 年到 35年都沒有爭戰的事。到了 36 年，以色列王上來攻擊猶大。可惜，亞撒尋求的不再是神的幫助，而是把金銀都拿出來求亞蘭王的幫助！後來有先知來責備，亞撒也沒有懊悔，反而惱恨先知，將先知囚在監裡，又虐待一些人民。後來生病，也沒有求耶和華，只求醫生。兩年後，亞撒就死了。（2 Chronicles 15-16)

你呢？是否也曾經歷神許多的恩典？曾經見證祂奇妙的大能？

曾經享受祂甜美的同在？可是在 Irvine 這個安舒平順的地方，

當人都忙於打造更美生活時，你的心還在依靠神嗎？你真心相

信神愛你嗎？耶穌的生命還是你每天的鼓勵嗎？甚願我們都可

以 finish strong，到最後可以與保羅同說：「那美好的仗我已

經打過了，當跑的路我已經跑盡了，所信的道我已經守住了。」

嗐！你們有話說：「今天明天我們要往某城裡去，在那裡住一年，做買賣得利。」其實明天如何，你們還不知道。你們的生命是甚麼呢？你們原來是一片雲霧，出現少時就不見了。你們只當說：「主若願意，我們就可以活著，也可以做這事，或做那事。」現今你們竟以張狂誇口；凡這樣誇口都是惡的。人若知道行善，卻不去行，這就是他的罪了。(James 4:13-17) 凡較力爭勝的，諸事都有節制，他們不過是要得能壞的冠冕；我們卻是要得不能壞的冠冕。所以，我奔跑不像無定向的；我鬥拳不像打空氣的。我是攻克己身，叫身服我，恐怕我傳福音給別人，自己反被棄絕了。(1 Corinthians 9:25-27)

The Ten Loves in the Bible – A Devotional Thought

The famous Christian writer, C. S. Lewis has a book called “The Four Loves”. It was difficult to understand his concepts. But lately, I read about these ten loves of the Bible. They are simple, straight forward and very inspiring. I want to share these with you all. Biblical loves are above all human understanding and logic. Jesus was doing these actions when He was ministering to people while He was on earth. He practices what He teaches. He shows us the examples. And Jesus wants us to learn these loves and practice them in our daily life. I am sure that each one of us will be able to learn from Jesus. Disciple September 2014
