5 th Class – 8 th -12 th June Hi Boys! I hope you are well! You’ll all be happy to hear that this will be the last week of actual work I will be setting. Next week (June 15 th ) we will be having our creative week and the following week (June 22 nd ) we will be having our active homes week. I want to say a huge well done to all of you for working so hard over the past couple of months. I know it has not been easy and that you would much rather be in school with your friends. Hi Boys!

I hope you are well! You’ll all be happy to hear that this will be the last week of actual work I will be setting. Next week (June 15th) we will be having our creative week and the following week (June 22nd) we will be having our active homes week.

** REMEMBER** TIME is the only TIME you use 60MINUTES instead of 100 for operations.

Read the information at the top of the page carefully.

Q1.You need to figure out how many in minutes in each fraction of an hour (divide into 60) E.g. ½ =30mins

Q2. Just match up the times to events (no need to write whole thing just 2a) = (ii)) Q3. Match times from top row to bottom row. E.g. In copy 1a) 93 mins = 1hr 33 mins

Jolly Grammar P101 <-ship> Write the words down the side. Write the words into the fish with the root of the word in the body and the suffix in the tail. E.g. lord-ship, member-ship etc. P102 Dictation – If you can, get an adult to call out 3 sentences using the words on the list. If not, you can choose three words to put into a sentence. Vocabulary – Homophones – these words sound the same but have very different meanings. Write the meaning of each word. You can look them up in your dictionary/google. Parse the sentence P103 Homograph/Homonyms Homographs are words that are spelled the same but have different meaning e.g.

Draw two images for bat and two for wave to show different meanings. Fill in the correct homonym for the two definitions on the leaves either side. E.g. 1. bark.

Pobble 365 – Lost Monday – Story Starter Read the story starter more than once and visualise the story in your mind. What do you think is about to happen? Continue the story in your copybook. Try to use as descriptive language as you can. Make your story interesting to read! Tuesday – Sentence Challenge Make these two sentences more interesting by using suitable adverbs – Adverbs describe the verb. E.g. ‘There was only one path forward, and she took it hesitantly...’ She took the path without wanting to, she was slow to take the path. Wednesday – Question Time Complete the questions about the story in your copybook. Thursday – Sick Sentences Make these sentences better by adding interesting, rich and beautiful language. Friday – Perfect Picture Draw 5 items you would like to have with you if you were lost in the forest. Explain why you have chosen these items.
