Despite major advances in coronary intervention, the recanalization of a chronic total occlusion (CTO) remains a challenge for many interventional cardi-ologists. Complex anatomy and lesion characteris-tics demand a special set of skills for procedural success. Provided patient selection is appropriate, CTO intervention can confer a variety of benefits including relief of angina, improvement in left ven-tricular function and reduction in ischemic burden.
: : : Our missionProcedural success is enhanced by adequate train-ing of staff, by quality control and availability of equipment. RETRO CTO Vienna is a unique oppor-tunity to meet world leaders in CTO revasculariza-tions during the performance of live cases, during lectures and interactive sessions on recorded cases, all in the fantastic city of Vienna, and the friendly venue of the Vienna General Hospital, Medical Uni-versity of Vienna.
