Built over a century ago, we all owe a debt of gratitude to the Irish faithful who were the first to call this church their parish. For apart from the countless sacrifices made by that first generation of faithful to build a suitable house of prayer and divine worship for the greater glory of God, this beautiful church would not exist. Our beautiful stained-glass windows, perhaps the most stunning feature of the church, have been newly restored. Rendered in the Munich Pictorial style, they depict scenes from the life of Christ as well as images of various angels and saints. The careful observer will discern elements from the Gothic, Romanesque, and Byzantine styles which together make up the style known as Venetian Gothic. Bishop Paprocki consecrated the new main and side altars in 2012 and established the church as a personal parish on New Years Day, 2014. The liturgy celebrated at St. Rose follows the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, and employs primarily the ancient Latin language. On Sundays, translations of both the ordinary and propers of the Mass are provided. To follow daily Mass you may wish to invest in a daily Latin English Missal available at the rectory or download an app like iMass. Internet access is available in church at StRoseChurch (password: latinmass). Make sure to mute your device while in church. Also, St. Roses state-of-the-art heating and cooling system assures a comfortable environment year round in which to pray and worship. After both Sunday Masses, visitors are invited to meet and greet our parishioners in the parish hall and socialize over coffee and donuts. If interested in joining the parish, simply call the office. Ladies of Charity in Need of Volunteers

Would you like to be part of a group whose motto is "To Serve rather than be served, in humility, simplicity, and charity"? Join The Ladies of Charity, founded by St. Vincent de Paul in France in 1617, and established in Quincy in in 1932.

The Ladies of Charity of Quincy continues to serve the poor on Mondays and Fridays of every week at our 510 S. 4th (4th & State) location.

We especially need additional volunteers for counter assistance and volunteers to sort donated clothing and items. Also needed are volunteers in the food pantry. Our hours are Mondays and Fridays, 9:00-11:45 and 1:00-2:45. Volunteers also work on Tuesdays, from about 9:00-noon. Do you have two or three hours per week to devote to this worthwhile activity? Find out if volunteering in this Vincentian ministry is a good fit for you by calling Jane Haas, 217-257-0533, for more information, or to take a tour of the facilities.

There will be a catered meal available, and so it will be necessary that you sign up for this event in order that we may have enough food for everyone. The sign up sheet is in the main vestibule. Please indicate how many people in family want Italian Chicken or Pull Pork Sandwich for their meal.

Any volunteers who can stay and help clean up afterwards, would be most helpful.

Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles is a traditional

order of nuns in Gower Missouri who are flourishing with

vocations, so that they have recently founded a second

community in Ava, Missouri. One way they support themselves

is by the sale of their music CDs. Their heavenly voices have

made them popular even in the secular world. Their debut

recording, Advent At Ephesus, reached number 2 on Billboard's

Classical Traditional Music Chart.

With the seasons of Advent and then Christmas approaching; we

will be taking orders for their CDs. Advent at Ephesus,

Christmas at Ephesus, and Caroling at Ephesus will be sold at a

discounted cost of $13 each. A listing of the tracks is located in

the vestibule with the sign up sheet. You can pay for the CD

when you pick it up. Consider buying as gifts for friends and

family.

Deadline for placing order will be November 10 to allow time

for the CDs to arrive and be picked up, especially for those

wanting Advent music.

You may learn more about the Sisters by going to their website

https://benedictinesofmary.org/ and see a listing of their other

CDs at https://music.benedictinesofmary.org/products/cds Their

latest newsletter is also available in vestibule.

You may also order any of their other titles, but the cost of those

are $16 each. All prices include shipping charges.
