Efic is the federal government export credit agency, providing financial solutions, guidance and resources to businesses. The organization wanted to offer a new product, the Small Business Export loan, to SMEs with a turnover of less than $5 million. Efic worked with Eclipse to custom-develop an online platform, called EficDirect, for this new product.

Efic needed a solution that was cloud-based and secure that could integrate with back-end systems, and synchronize information from multiple sources within the organization and from third parties.

Eclipse implemented a cutting-edge solution developed in .NET, using Microsoft Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Azure KeyVault, Azure Business to Commerce Services (B2C), and Azure SQL. The entire application exists in the cloud in a PaaS model, so it can scale up or down as needed. The footprint is very light and easy to manage, and the entire solution is cost-effective. The cloud-based nature of the solution means Efic now has the flexibility to design loan products much more effectively and efficiently than was previously possible.

Pacific Rail Engineering (PRE) is an Australian engineering company based in New South Wales. The company was operating to a high standard but knew it could become even more efficient if it had a better way to manage business processes, both within Dynamics AX and across the rest of the business. It needed a systematic way to map processes so that it could see how to improve them. It also needed to keep the integrity of quality management in place through better document control.

PRE worked with Eclipse to implement its BPM solution built on Mavim software; a dedicated group of processes to help staff extract maximum value from Dynamics AX. PRE was able to save significantly on training costs and the time associated with bringing new employees up to speed on Dynamics AX.

PRE is integrating all policy and procedure documents into a single location. Having information in one place in clearly-mapped processes, which cannot be altered without authorization, will make the business more efficient. New employees will be up and running faster because of the readily available information and PRE will be able to use this to support their training and induction programs.

Tourism Australia (TA) set four key business objectives when it launched its digital transformation program. The first was to grow the audience of Australia.com and its digital platforms. Secondly, it wanted to drive personalization. Thirdly, the organization wanted to be driven by data and insights and to be evidence-based in its decision making, particularly around investments. Lastly, TA wanted to invest in its people and to grow its digital maturity.

TA staff are located in many time-zones around the world and employees have to be self-sufficient, without relying on IT for provisioning and support. Employees expect to be able to work from anywhere, so accessibility and mobility are key within their everyday operations.

Eclipse developed a hybrid cloud solution as the foundation for TA’s digital transformation. Eclipse implemented a custom SharePoint Online web portal, MyTA, which helps TA orchestrate their unique business processes independent of location or time zones. MyTA provides a familiar Windows interface and a common user experience for key business systems, custom corporate apps, and business information repositories for all employees.

The end-to-end solution delivered by Eclipse included the full Microsoft suite: Dynamics AX; Dynamics CRM Online; Office 365; SharePoint Online and custom SharePoint Web Apps (including Yammer for social collaboration), and deployed on Microsoft Surface devices, provisioned by Eclipse. Eclipse implemented a hybrid IT solution using both cloud and on-premise elements, with the aim of moving TA entirely to the cloud in the future.

Flow International Corporation (Flow) is a leading manufacturer of ultrahigh-pressure waterjet technologies. At one point, the company had built up 200 different, overlapping enterprise and line of business applications, which imposed a huge burden on IT resources. Annually Kotahi handles cargo worth billions of dollars primarily originating in New Zealand, the world’s most remote nation, moving it to more than 400 destination ports or inland facilities around the world. Demand forecasting for each of these destinations is a key challenge for Kotahi as it optimizes ocean freight and landside transport supply and demand to create an efficient global supply chain. As a result, Kotahi needed to improve forecast accuracy, which would translate to more efficient logistical decisions, such as choosing the right sized container ships, at the right times, and dispatching them to the right ports.

Eclipse implemented Exceed Analytics. The enterprise software suite includes a number of solution layers: Microsoft Power BI to visualize the data in a dashboard, Microsoft Azure SQL DB as the cloud based data warehouse, and Microsoft Machine Learning predictive models tailored by Microsoft and Eclipse for the Kotahi business.

Powerful demand forecasting models, developed by Eclipse and Microsoft, sit at the heart of Kotahi’s solution. These statistical models tap into a new cloud-based data warehouse devoted to historical supply and demand data for all Kotahi’s main markets and product lines.

Exceed Analytics has created significant savings for Kotahi by reducing demand forecasting from three days of manual processing to less than thirty minutes. In addition to demand forecasting, Kotahi wanted to improve financial reporting by increasing the speed of access to results. By customizing Exceed Analytics, Eclipse has given Kotahi financial dashboards that run simultaneously to their data, so they get instant results.
