Page 3 What do scores mean? 1-25 (scale score) Composite = average of English, Math, Reading, and Science English sub-scores 1-12 Usage/Mechanics and Rhetorical Skills Slide 4 Slide 5 Shows how you did compared to others who took the EXPLORE test EXAMPLE: If you scored in the 56 th percentile (56%) you scored higher or the same as 56 percent of students across the country who took the test. Slide 6 Slide 7 Your EXPLORE score range can be used to estimate your PLAN score range Your PLAN score range cannot be used to estimate your ACT range You are very likely in 10 th grade to score in the range given to you on your PLAN test. Slide 8 Slide 9 Box in bottom left corner course plans compared to CORE requirements Use this to plan your high school courses Plans for after high school box in bottom middle What you selected as your plans during the beginning of the EXPLORE test Undecided is okay Invalid Response is okay just look to interest inventory results Reported Needs Box Shows your choices for extra help College Readiness Far right box Benchmark scores for college-prep English 15 Math - 19 Reading 17 Science - 21 Slide 10 Slide 11 Turn to back of results folder Step 1: World of Work Divides work into areas of interest Step 2 : Your Interests Shaded area shows the combination of your Career Area choice and the results of your Interest Survey Step 3: Exploring Career Options Visit www.explorestudent.orgwww.explorestudent.org Choose 2 career options in the shaded area that might be of interest to you **What if I dont like my results?** Slide 12 Open your folder so that the inside is showing Answers with Workbook take time to look over your answers and work Beside your answers in the purple shaded area you are given tips for improvement in each section Slide 13 Slide 14 At the bottom of page 11 you are given requirements for career options Use the career area letters on the back of your results folder to match your course requirements with your selected careers Use pages 12 13 to help plan your high school courses for the Spring registration Example is given on Page 14 Slide 15 Our school was above average in four sections compared to the national score, including composite score Great job!! Science was the highest average score with 17.1 AWESOME! Most chosen answer for help needed STUDY SKILLS Due to the high influx of this answer we will incorporate this topic into one of our guidance lessons when we see you after Christmas break.
