History

Riga State Gymnasium № 3 was established in December 1918

Transformed from a girl’s school that was formed in 1805.

At the beginning 397 girls and 64 boys. In 1919 there were 15 different classes

with 530 students Later on it was turned back to a girl’s

school.

In 1925 it was a regular high school again and it kept working until 1966

New premises in 1966 in Old Riga. In 1939 the school got its school flag with

the embroidered school motto on it - life is work, duty and loyalty.

Our school nowadays Riga State Gymnasium № 3 is located

in Old Riga. Andris Priekulis has been the school

principal since 2000. This year the total number of pupils is

about 900.

School anthem

School anthem was written in 2012. It’s called “The School doors are

never closed”

Education

3 new classes in elementary school and 6 new classes in high school every year

High school education curriculum offers 7

different learning modules The school participates in international

exchange projects

The main subjects are Math and English.

The school offers to learn different languages e.g. German, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Portugese and Chinese.

Sports

The school is well-known for its students’ achievments in sports.

Our students takes part in competitions with other Latvian schools.

In addition to the physical training our school offers

swimming and dancing lessons.

Life is work, duty and loyalty.
