Stewardship Program 2015 Weekend 3 - Values Engagement Weekend
Our Stewardship Program continues this week as we focus on how Our Parish Com-munity values engagement.
Parishioners, Peter Leamon, Mary Martin and David Wirth will speak at Masses over the weekend and will share with us the importance of our Parish in their lives. They will discuss their own experiences and encourage us all to be actively involved in parish life by joining and participating in our parish groups and ministries. We thank them for sharing their stories.
PARISH INFORMATION MEETING
All parishioners are reminded of our Parish Information Meeting this coming Tues-day, the 26th at 7.30pm in the Church. The Parish Information Meeting is the key meeting of our Program. We will gather as a parish community to celebrate our achievements and plan for the future. Light refreshments will also be provided. If you have not already accepted, please complete the RSVP cards available at all Masses over the weekend.
STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM PRAYER Lord, we thank you for calling us to be your Church.
Through our Baptism we are called to service and to witness. In the Eucharist we sustain and strengthen that call.
By serving others we follow your example and proclaim our beliefs. By our Christian generosity we demonstrate our love and care.
Lord, help us always to worship you as you deserve, to grow in faith and service
and to give without counting the cost. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Parish Directory
Copies of the 2015 Parish Directory (containing information about all our Par-
ish groups) are now available. Please take a copy home with you today.
COMMISSIONING OF PPLT AND MORNING TEA
This weekend at the 10 am Mass the new Parish Pastoral
Leadership Team, for the next 2 years, will be commis-
sioned. To celebrate this, we will have morning tea after
Mass.

Baptisms These are held on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month at 11:15 am or at any of the Parish Masses on the 2nd, 4th
or 5th Sundays. A compulsory preparation night for parents takes place on the first Tuesday of each month in the
Parish Community Centre at 7:30 pm. Children to be baptised, and their families, are then invited to a Welcome
Mass prior to Baptism where they are introduced to the Parish Community and welcomed by them. In order for
this to happen, preparation needs to begin at least 4-6 weeks before the Baptism, with a call to confirm parents’
attendance at the Preparation Night.
When children of school age are to be baptised an extended preparation time is required. It is important to re-
member that Baptism is about the initiation of a child into a community of Faith or a community of Disciples. There
is no such thing as a ‘private’ Baptism... it is something done by the whole Church.

Sponsorship Of Timor L’este (East Timor) Students
Please Give Them Hope I am appealing for generous sponsors for the 6 gifted, poor, students graduating from Patrick Browne Secondary
School, who hope to attend Don Bosco Laga, Timor L’Este ,commencing Year 10. Six generous sponsors have
already committed, and I need another 6.
These gifted students will not be able to continue their secondary education if they do not receive sponsorships.
They will most likely become workers in their family vegetable gardens or join the great mass of unemployed Ti-
mor L’Este youth.
By sponsoring you will give them hope.
Sponsors will receive a photo of a child allocated to them as well as reports on their academic progress. You will
also be able to communicate with them through Fr Manuel Ximenes in Laga.
Sponsorship is $US300 per year for three years depending on the student’s academic progress. If you are interest-
ed in finding out more contact Les Harper on 0408 123 562 or by email: [email protected]
