The Friends of Telford Town Park would like to welcome you toour unique Sakura (Cherry blossom) Festival on Saturday 21 April2018. We are very grateful to Telford & Wrekin Council ParksDepartment and the companies who have generously sponsored thissuper event as part of Telford’s Fiftieth Anniversary celebrations. Youwill find a list of them on the rear cover, so please support theseorganisations whenever possible. The Maxell Cherry Garden will be open all day as usual until4pm for this event but will open again for ticket holders after 5pm until9pm when the festival will close. Tickets are £5 but children under 16accompanied by a ticket holder are free.From midday until 4pm you will be able to enjoy the gardens plus listento some singing from the Telford & District Light Operatic Players in thebandstand and try some Japanese street food from Gresko-Bohdi anda special flavour ice cream from the Shropshire Ice Cream Company.In addition, the Japanese Garden Society will be exhibiting along withthe RSPB and a couple of brand new Japanese cars will be on showfrom W.R.Davies. From 5pm you will also be able, with a ticket, to gainaccess to the Maxell Cherry Garden to enjoy the illuminated waterfeatures and listen to some live Japanese music from Japanesqueand drumming from the Taiko West Drummers, along with Origamidemonstrations and silhouette cutting. The Chelsea and Maxell Gardens will be open to thepublic as usual to visit and admire the beautiful cherryblossom until 4pm.
From midday there will be singing until 5pm fromTADLOP, Japanese street food from Gresko-Bohdi, IceCream, Tea, Coffee, Refreshments available fromThe Shropshire Ice Cream Company, a display by theJapanese Garden Society, the RSPB display andW.R.Davies (Toyota & Nissan).These stalls will be available until 9pm.

From 5pm entry to the gardens will be by pre purchasedticket only, to enjoy the live Japanese music, Origamiand Silhouette cutting along with the illuminated gar-dens and water features.
