What they say What is meant?

It’s always been like this.”“It’s like that everywhere.” “There are worse things.” “It’s not really that bad.” “It’s not my problem.” “It’s not really a problem at all.” “It’s complicated.” “It’s just the way it is.” “You can’t change it.” “I’m the wrong person to talk toIt’s too hard.” “It’s too complicated.” “It’s been done before.” “It’s never been done before.” “It’s not our problem.” “We don’t have the time.” “It’ll never work.” “We don’t have the money.” “We tried that, it didn’t work”

The problem is older than you think. It’s more widespread than you think.I don’t care about them either I don’t really care.I really don’t really care. Really. Everyone’s gotten used to it.Give up. I did. I’ve never questioned it.I didn’t change it. I’m too scared to even think about it. I haven’t got time. I just don’t get it. We did it half-arsed last time. No-one’s ever thought of it before. Denial is still our preferred strategy. I’m swamped just doing stupid stuff. People will block it for no reason. We blew our budget on dumb stuff.. We seriously stuffed it up last time

Are we there yet?

Find a way!

How could we do that?

What are the limitations?

How do we do this??Start with some ‘thinking’ questions

• Is it time to rethink your Strategy?

• Is it time to rethink the Strategies Purpose?

• Is it time to rethink the Process?

• Is it time to re- prioritise your schools Barriers?

Page 26: Successful initiatives Building a regional Wiki Implementation of RAVE ◦ Boys and Girls Career Education ◦ Enterprise education Survey Results

is it time to rethink your

Can we make it better? What cool stuff could we keep?

What do we need to add? What should we change?

What can we chuck? What’s the next big thing?

Strategy?

Page 27: Successful initiatives Building a regional Wiki Implementation of RAVE ◦ Boys and Girls Career Education ◦ Enterprise education Survey Results

purpose? Is there something more important we should

be doing? If we stopped tomorrow would anyone care?

Or notice?

Does the world need what we do?Why are we doing this? What’s the point again?

is it time to rethink the Strategies

Page 28: Successful initiatives Building a regional Wiki Implementation of RAVE ◦ Boys and Girls Career Education ◦ Enterprise education Survey Results

is it time to rethink your

Would a rethink of ‘how we do’ improve ‘what we do’?

Are our systems holding us back? Are we a good bunch to deal with?

What’s letting us down? Are we delivering?

Can it be simpler? Can it quicker? Can it be cheaper? Can it be more fun?

process?

barriers?Too much work? Not enough time?

Too many meetings? Not enough resources?

Not enough progress?Not enough clarity?

is it time to re-prioritise your schools

Page 30: Successful initiatives Building a regional Wiki Implementation of RAVE ◦ Boys and Girls Career Education ◦ Enterprise education Survey Results

So ...Time to develop a resource that will suit your schools needs.

•The funding model in 2011 will be project based- remember that in your contemplation of a resource!

Who will be my school/ student target audience?

Where do I start?- the zoomerang surveyhttp://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22B3SS9NGN3 RAVE will cease to exist in its current form-

in 2011 regional coordination will be reflected through the funded projects.
