Dec. 27..The com¬ mencement cxercises of the lirs' tiuar-1 ter of the present session were ii^id in the auditorium on December IS. Presi- dent McConnell, in awarding tint; diplomas, discussed the policy of the State Normal School at Radford to keep the school plant and equipment in use throughout the year. In consequence of this plan, students in this institution may graduate at the close of sny quar- ter, either in June. August, December- or March. The large number of the students graduate at the commencement exercises in June. Students may enfr this institution very profitably *at thel opening of the quarter, either in Janti-' ary. March or June. Since this school is in session forty- eight weeks each year, the buildings: land equipment are used practically thej whole time The session of forty-eight weeks is divided into four quarters of! about equal length. Three quarters.! mailing thirty-six weeks, or nine school months, count as one regular session in; this institution as in other institutions in Virginia. Most of the new students' enter at the beginning of the fall quar- tor in September. Old students who sometimes teach before finishing the course and teachers who are already in the teaching force of the State, enter at the beginning of each of the four quarters. The winter quarter, which opens Jan-' uary 5, promises to he very aatisfac- j lory. The personnel of the .student! body of the present session has been of a very high order. Kvery interest and enterprise. of the institution flourished during the first quarter. HOUJtS: i>:00 A. M. to :»;:{«! I'. }\, Saturday >. »:«« A. Presi-dent McConnell, in awarding tint;diplomas, discussed the policy of theState Normal School at Radford to keepthe school plant and equipment in usethroughout the year. In consequence ofthis plan, students in this institutionmay graduate at the close of sny quar-ter, either in June. August, December-or March. The large number of thestudents graduate at the commencementexercises in June. Students may enfrthis institution very profitably *at thelopening of the quarter, either in Janti-'ary. March or June.

Since this school is in session forty-eight weeks each year, the buildings:land equipment are used practically thejwhole time The session of forty-eightweeks is divided into four quarters of!about equal length. Three quarters.!mailing thirty-six weeks, or nine schoolmonths, count as one regular session in;this institution as in other institutionsin Virginia. Most of the new students'enter at the beginning of the fall quar-tor in September. Old students whosometimes teach before finishing thecourse and teachers who are already inthe teaching force of the State, enterat the beginning of each of the fourquarters. The winter quarter, which opens Jan-'
