Sample Day-by-Day Itinerary

I hope you will join us for this very special

pilgrimage with Archbishop Bernardini, who spent over 47 years in Turkey as a Franciscan Friar and as Archbishop to Smyrna, one

of the first seven churches established in the world, as written in the Book of Revelation of Saint John. We will have the opportunity to celebrate the commemoration of Mary, declared as Mother of God, (Council of Ephesus in 431) on the second Sunday of October. This is one of the most important times of the year to gather in Ephesus to honor Mary. Our pilgrimage will be the first of its kind, to highlight SERVANT OF GOD, Sister Marie de Mandat-Grancey, (Sept. 1837-1915) a French Daughter of Charity, Foundress of Mary's House who was instrumental in the finding of the last dwelling place of the Blessed Virgin Mary, she preserved, protected and restored this holy place for pilgrims of all religions to pray to honor Mary. Some of Sister Marie's family members will be present while we are in Ephesus. We will also visit where Sister Marie lived in Smyrna (now Izmir) and pray at her remains where she rests. Her Cause of Beatification is bringing forth many testimo-nies of healings. We will also walk the footsteps of our early church and pray in the exact places spoken of and recorded in the Bible. This will be a special time of grace for us all! I pray you can join us!

Sample Day-by-Day Itinerary : Day 1, Wed, Oct 08: New York to Istanbul Depart New York for your overnight flight to Istanbul. Dinner and break-fast will be served on board. Day 2, Thu, Oct 09: Arrive in Izmir via Istanbul Upon arrive in international Istanbul Ataturk airport you will be met by the 206 Tours representative, at the main arrival hall of the airport, right after the visa, immigration, customs and luggage claim areas. Next you will be walked to the domestic departure terminal to take your domestic flight to Izmir (Smyrna). Upon arrival to Izmir, you will make your way to the House of Virgin Mary’s cottage that includes the Cemetery where Sr. Marie rests. After Mass at Mary’s House, we will have some time for prayer and reflec-tions. At the end of the visits you will drive back to Izmir and visit the French Hospital. You will review the limited parts of the hospital. Next you will check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 3, Fri, Oct 10: Pergamum & Thyatira After breakfast, we will proceed to the north toward the mountain top acropolis of Pergamum. Once a busy trading center and famous as a "seller

of purple," the most favored of the Seven Churches, the church of Perga-mum was praised for its forbearance (Rev. 2:12-17). It was here that the first Christians were executed by Rome. We'll visit the fabled Acropolis, pass through the Royal Gates, view the foundations of the Temple of Zeus and visit the ruins of the library, which once held 200,000 volumes. You will also visit the Red Basilica and Asclepion; ancient health center. At the end of the visits we will continue to visit ancient Thyatira to view the an-cient roadway and period columns, at the end of the day you will proceed to your hotel in Izmir for dinner and overnight. Day 4, Sat, Oct 11: St. Polycarp, Sardis, Philadelphia, Kusadasi After breakfast we will proceed to have a city tour in Izmir, which is the third largest city in Turkey and a long time center for Jews and Christians. In Paul's day, Izmir was known as Smyrna and was another of the Seven Churches (Rev. 2:8-11). Start our day with Mass at St. Polycarp where Archbishop Bernadini lived and was Bishop! After Mass and the ancient agora. Next you will continue to drive for visit to Ancient Sardis. Sardis was berated by John for its facade of strength when in reality, it was weak (Rev. 3:1-6). Here coins were minted and the dyeing of wool originated. We'll visit the gymnasium and synagogue. Our next stop is nearby Phila-delphia from where we are challenged to “hold fast” and look forward to the coming of the "new Jerusalem" (Rev. 3:7-13) in the Book of Revelation. Accommodation and dinner will be in Kusadasi. Day 5, Sun, Oct 12: Kusadasi Following breakfast, we will celebrate Mass at Mary’s House in honor of Mary, Mother of God. Return to the Hotel for lunch, and then spend the remainder of the day traveling through the Turkish countryside arriving in the port city of Kusadasi where we spend two nights. Dinner and over-night. Lunch with the Friars who run Mary's House or at the Vera Santa Maria Hotel which is owned by Fr. Oriano, Superior of Mary's House. Fri-ars often go there for lunch after the Mass in honor of Mary, Mother of God. Accommodation and dinner in Kusadasi. Day 6, Mon, Oct 13: Ephesus – Kusadasi After breakfast taken at your hotel you will be met with your guide in the hotel lobby and continue to explore ancient city of Ephesus and surround-ings; Ephesus was one of the seven churches of Asia that are cited in the Book of Revelation. The Gospel of John may have been written here. The

city was the site of several 4th and 5th century Christian Councils. It is also the site of a large gladiators' graveyard. The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Roman Asia was associated with John, one of the chief apostles, and the Gospel of John might have been written in Ephe-

sus, c 90–100. Ephesus was one of the seven cities addressed in Revela-tion (Revelation 2:1–7), indicating that the church at Ephesus was strong. You will visit the main sites of Ancient Ephesus; Odeon Theatre, Celsus Library, Great Theatre, Hadrian Temple. You will also be visiting the The Church of Mary also known as Church of the Councils because two coun-cils of importance to the history of Early Christianity are assumed to have been held within. The church is located in the south of the Olympieion (Temple of Hadrian Olympios) next to the harbor of Ephesus. You will also visit the Basilica of St. John for a tour and a scenic overview of the Ephe-sus area. From here your guide will point out the location of the ancient harbor of Ephesus and describe the silting process that led to the demise of this important Roman city of special interest is the tomb of John and the baptismal where new believers were immersed. Day 7, Tue, Oct 14: Istanbul After breakfast you will depart to Izmir airport for your flight back to Istan-bul. Upon arrival in Istanbul you will proceed to visit the Church of St. Saviour in Chora. After Hagia Sophia, St. Saviour Chora is the most im-portant Byzantine Church in the city. It was built in the 11th century AD. The walls are decorated with breathtaking 14th century AD frescoes and mosaics. The mosaics relate to the life story of Virgin Mary and the life of Christ. Next, discover the Egyptian Bazaar; the second largest covered market in Istanbul. It was constructed in the 1660s as part of the Yeni Camii (New Mosque) complex. The name derives from the herbs, and spices imported from or through Egypt. It is still the best place to buy Turkish delight, dried fruit, exotic spices and herbs. Then, you will continue for an exciting cruise on the Bosphorus Sea. The cruise affords excellent sea views of the past palaces of the Ottomans, as well as many beautiful wood-en yalis (houses) from the 19th and 20th centuries, old mansions and modern villas. You will also view the Beylerbeyi summer palace. Istanbul life revolves around the Bosphorus Sea and has done for centuries. At the end of the visits you will continue to your hotel, check in and overnight. Day 8, Wed, Oct 15: Istanbul After breakfast you will depart to visit highlights of Istanbul city; you will visit to the Byzantine Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, St. Sophia museum, Topkapi Palace museum (including treasury - excluding harem sections) As last you will visit the Grand Bazaar. At the end of the visits you will continue to your hotel and overnight Day 9, Thu, Oct 16: Return to New York Depart for home this morning as we transfer to the airport for our return-ing flights with memories to last a lifetime! Optional Post Tour: Day 9, Thu, Oct 16: Pisidian Antioch / Konya After breakfast we will continue Istanbul airport for your flight to Isparta to visit Pisidian Antioch – one of important stops on Paul’s missionary jour-neys. Although only 10% of Pisidian Antioch has been excavated, the ruins from the Roman period are noteworthy. We’ll see Septimus Severus’ trium-phal gate, Augustus’ Temple, the Roman baths, a theater and a church dedicated to Paul. At the end of the visit in Yalvaç you will proceed to drive Konya, dinner and overnight. Day 10, Fri, Oct 17: Konya / Cappadocia After breakfast, you will depart to visit Lystra, where Paul preached on his first missionary journey (Acts 14: 6-22). Our lodging this evening will be in Konya (ancient Iconium) part of Paul's first missionary journey. Nearly two thousand years ago, Paul and Barnabas visited Iconium during Paul’s first missionary journey. As he preached to the city, God used Paul to bring many Jews and Gentiles to Christ (Acts 14: 1-6). We will also visit the ex-cavations of Catalhoyuk – you will also visit the home of the Mystic sect of the spectral Whirling Dervishes. We’ll will learn more about this mysteri-ous order when we visit the museum of its founder, Mevlana, also known as the poet Rumi. We have an opportunity to having a mass in Konya at St. Paul church, return to hotel in Cappadocia, dinner & overnight. Day 11, Sat, Oct 18: Cappadocia Consider an optional early morning hot air balloon tour and experience floating through volcanic valleys, fairy chimneys and caves at sunrise. After breakfast will be proceed to exploring the history and scenery of Cap-padocia. First off, we’ll visit the gently folding volcanic rock formations and “fairy chimneys” of Goreme Open Air Museum. These rock formations are not only beautiful, but functional as well. Many early Christian communi-ties lived and worshipped deep in the rocks and crags, leaving their fres-coes and paintings to be marveled at centuries later. Other communities lived underground, and we’ll visit these dwellings too. To protect them-selves from Roman persecution and marauding bandits, local people began to live in underground caves forming “cities” that reach a depth of up to 7 stories below the surface. Other sites include the Natural Citadel of Uchisar and the small, picturesque village of Avanos – famous for their red clay pottery. In Avanos we’ll visit “The Potter’s Place: Gift Shoppe and Cul-tural Center” and have time for visiting local potter for a demonstration and maybe try your own hand at the potter’s wheel. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia. Day 12, Sun, Oct 19: Return to New York

PARTICIPATION 206 Tours and supplier s contracted for services reserve the right to refuse to accept or retain any person whose behavior is deemed likely to affect the smooth operations of a tour, or adversely affect

the enjoyment or safety of other passengers. 206 Tours, its agents, and suppliers shall be under no liability to any such person for refund, compensa-

tion, repatriation or any other matters arising. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS Once a deposit or par tial/full payment has been made, cancellations will only be accepted in writing.

Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancel-lation is received. In addition to a $300 per person administration fee, the following charges apply if a cancellation is made before departure (per

person of total tour price): 60 - 46 days prior to departure 10%

45 - 21 days prior to departure 50% 20 - 03 days prior to departure 80% 02 days prior to departure or less no refund

Additionally, once tickets are issued (approximately 4-6 weeks prior to

departure) the ticket value is non-refundable. Requests for a refund must be in writing (mail, fax or e-mail). Phone calls can not be used as a form of

cancellation. It is the individual’s responsibility to confirm 206 Tours' receipt of cancellations regardless of their form. Refunds will be issued within 30 to 60 days of receipt and pending return of airline tickets and receipt of written

notice of cancellation. Refunds for payments made by credit card are subject to an additional 3.5% fee. No change of names or substitutions are permitted.

No refund or cancellation fees will be waived due to death or sickness. It is the sole responsibility of the passenger to request a brochure, if Internet access is not possible, and review the insurance coverage. Policies and

restrictions imposed by the insurance company are not limited to that which is stated in the brochure. Traveler's Insurance purchased through 206 Tours will only cover the services, expenses, arrangements, arranged by 206 Tours.

For additional clarifications, restrictions, regulations, etc., please contact the insurance company directly. Upon purchasing the travelers Insurance you

accept all Terms & Conditions as per our travel insurance. AIR TRANSPORTATION Air tr anspor tation is in economy class on IATA-approved carriers. Ticketing must be completed no later than 14 days

prior to departure. Fares are based on levels in effect at the time of printing and prices and schedules are subject to change without notice. All travel is subject to the airlines terms of carriage. 206 Tours is not responsible for any

cancellations, loss, delays, injury, illness, or expenses incurred due to actions made by the airlines. Business Class upgrades are available on transatlantic

flights, and are on request basis only. For any issues which arise in relation to airline service complaints and compensation should be addressed to the carrier.

SEAT ASSIGNMENT Random seats are assigned for all group par tici-pants. If you would like to secure a specific seat, or sit with a travel compan-ion please advise us of such request at the time of booking, we will make an

effort to accommodate you, however we cannot guarantee. If you must

have specific seat we recommend you to be at the airport at least three hours prior to departure and arrange the seat assignment with your airline's gate agent. Bulkhead and exit row seating can never be

requested prior to the day of departure. 206 Tours can never guarantee specific seats, which are at the discretion of the airline & are pending

availability, subject to seat map changes LAND ONLY Transfer s are NOT included in Land Only costs. From time to time, a tour may be canceled due to non-materialization.

If you chose to purchase a Land Only package and arrange your own domestic or international flight independently of us, be advised that 206 Tours is not responsible for domestic or international flights or

transfers of any kind. Booked or purchased items outside of 206tours are sole responsibility of client.

TRANSFERS Our programs include group round-trip transfers. Pilgrims or passengers who did not purchase "all-inclusive tour" or who purchased land only package and are arriving or leaving inde-

pendently must transfer at their own expense. Expenses incurred for transfers due to lateness of flights are at the expense of the passenger and may be claimed for reimbursement from the airlines. No smoking

is allowed on motor coach. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS Hotel accommodations are

based on twin-bedded or double rooms. 206 Tours reserves the right to substitute similar category hotels without prior notice. In some hotels triple accommodation is possible, however, no reduction in cost is

available for triple rooms. A limited number of single rooms are also available at a supplemental rate.

PRIVATE ROOMS and SINGLE SUPPLEMENT A limited

number of single rooms is available (on request basis only) at the supplement price. Single rooms provide privacy, but they are in some hotels smaller than twin or double rooms and sometimes may be

poorly located, especially in the older hotels. As a general ratio we are able to confirm 10% of the total number of group participants in single

rooms. If ratio is higher special supplements may be implemented for something referred to "single in double room" at an additional rate to the single supplement rate listed. If passengers are traveling alone and

wish to have 206 Tours assign a roommate we will do our best, how-ever, if we do not succeed in assigning a same sex roommate for you then you will be responsible to pay the cost of the single room.

MEALS Most tr ips includes two meals per day (breakfast and dinners) which are served at your hotel or local restaurants. Beverages

are not included with dinners where not indicated. In case you chose not to have a meal, there is no refund for unused meals. Although we cannot guarantee, we will try and accommodate each special meal

request on flights as well as at hotels. Please advise of such a request at the time of booking. We can not guarantee that special meal/diet requests can be met. BAGGAGE Each tour participant is permitted to

bring one checked suitcase, one small carry on bag, and one personal item (i.e. purse, laptop case). In general, the airlines permit 1 checked bag. Please check with your specific airline to verify the size and

weight allowances. 206 Tours is not responsible for the loss of, theft of, delay, or damage to a participant's belongings.

RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE 206 Tours acts as a tour operator . The suppliers providing transportation, sightseeing arrangements and hotel accommodations for the tour program are independent contrac-

tors and are not agents or employees of 206 Tours. All coupons, receipts and tickets issued are subject to the terms and conditions specified by suppliers. By utilizing the service of the suppliers, you

agree that 206 Tours will not be liable for any change in flight or itinerary schedule, strikes, delay, acts of governments, fires, riots,

theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, accident, loss, injury, or damage to you or to those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or any other

services or resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrence or conditions beyond its control, including defects in vehicles, break-down in equipment, thefts, delay or cancellation of or changes in

itinerary for any act, omission, or event during the time you are on board the aircraft. Neither 206 Tours and/or agents of the airlines

concerned are to be held responsible for the late arrival of passengers at airports or hotels due to inclement weather, nor are they to be held liable for payment or any refund for transfers or unused hotel accom-

registration for any tour. We make every effort to accommodate disabled passengers by reserving for them wheelchair assistance at airports and handicap accessible rooms where available, however, we

cannot guarantee and are not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. Be aware

that all of our tours are operated outside the U.S. where the Americans with Disabilities Act is not applicable and facilities for disabled individuals are limited. Most transportation services, including the

touring motor coaches, are not equipped with wheelchair ramps or lifts. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to any tour participant for walking, dining, while in their room, on flight,

getting on and off motor coaches and other vehicles, or other personal

needs. A qualified and physically able companion(s) must accompany travelers who need special assistance. It is the passenger's responsibility to arrange for such assistance prior to making their reservations. Motor-

ized scooters are unsuitable and impossible to accommodate. 206 Tours is not responsible for any medical condition that occurs prior, during or

after the tour. Additionally, airlines are not able to guarantee or provide assistance for disabled travelers including special seating. Pregnancy, Breast-Feeding, and Traveling Pregnant women considering international

travel should be advised to evaluate the potential problems associated with international travel as well as the quality of medical care available at the destination and during transit. A pregnant woman is advised to travel

with at least one companion; during her pregnancy, her level of comfort may be adversely affected by traveling.

YOUNG TRAVELERS Traveler s who are less than 18 year s old on the departure date must be accompanied by an adult. Due to heightened security, many countries have adopted practices to prevent international

abductions of children. If a child will be traveling with adults other than the parents or with only one parent, it is recommended that a notarized letter be written by the parents or non-traveling parent granting authoriza-

tion to travel including the dates of travel. We also suggest you contact the appropriate consulate and airlines because they may have additional

requirements. For the purposes of 206 Tours trips an infant is defined as anyone who is under the age of 24 months for the entire duration of their trip. A child is defined as any one between the ages of 24 months-11

years for the entire duration of their trip. SAFETY Please be aware that dur ing your par ticipation on tour s

operated by 206 Tours, certain risks and dangers may arise beyond our

control including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in undevel-oped areas; travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft or other means of transportation; the forces of nature, political unrest and accident or illness

in remote regions without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities. 206 Tours does not have liability regarding provisions of medical care or

the adequacy of any care that may be rendered. 206 Tours is not responsi-ble for compensation for cities/sites omitted from the itinerary due to circumstances beyond it's control.

PHYSICALITY OF OUR TOURS Please note that almost all destina-tions serviced by 206 Tours require physical fitness and a lot of walking, sometimes up/or down the hills and at times very rough terrain. You may

certainly stay behind for certain parts of the journey, however, it is suggested that 3 to 4 weeks before your departure one should begin

preparing physically begin walking "briskly" 1-2 times a day; build up to 2-3 miles with no discomfort. SERVICE INQUIRIES AFTER THE TRIP If upon returning from

your trip, you wish to inquire about any services provided, please ensure that all correspondence is received by 206 Tours, 333 Marcus Blvd - Hauppauge, NY 11788, within 45 days of the tour completion date. This

will enable us to make a timely investigation. TOUR CANCELLATION BY OPERATOR Be clear ly advised that from time to time a tour departure may be cancelled due to lack of

participation. In such case, the operator's sole responsibility is to provide a full refund. 206 Tours in not responsible and does not assume responsi-

bility for any additional costs or any fees relating to the issuance and /or cancellation of air tickets or other arrangements not made through 206 Tours. Cancellations due to state travel advisories and/or state travel

warnings, Acts of War, War, Terrorism, Acts of God, Natural Disaster or any other circumstance outside the control of 206 Tours, are not the fault of 206 Tours. Great effort will be made to accommodate traveler to

another trip or to revise itinerary, however, cancellation for any of these reasons will not be eligible for refund.

EXTENDED CANCELLATION PROTECTION PLAN 206 Tours

offers an optional additional protection plan for $299 which permits travelers to cancel for any reason up until the day prior to departure

without penalty. You MUST file a claim with our travel insurance provider if you cancel your reservation, and if you are denied reimburse-ment from Travel for any reason 206 Tours will refund your losses in

cash in full (not including the insurance and cancel protection premiums). You MUST select this option at the time of booking and it must be paid with your deposit. You MUST purchase standard travel insurance in

order to purchase the cancel for any reason protection plan (unless you are a NY resident). Claims MUST be filed NO LATER than six (6) months after initial cancellation. After six months, no reimbursement can

be provided.
