Textbooks and Resources
This textbook gives a summary of each topic and is a great study resource. I have an e-book version available to all students and parents interested.
Leave your email address on the sheet provided at the end of the session, and I will send you through a copy!
Students have a hard copy of this text, and are able to keep it until after their HSC exam.
Tips for success in Modern History
Daily and weekly revision:- Each day when you get home, read over
your notes from class – highlight or underline key terms, dates etc.
- At the end of each week, read over your class work from the week. If unsure of a concept or term, see me the following week!
- The more times you read or hear something, the more likely you are to remember it!!!!
- HSC exams are just as much about memory recall as they are about ability and knowledge. Forming consistent study habits will ensure improved results.
Tips for success in Modern History
Visual: As stated earlier, go back over notes and use a highlighter for key terms and concepts.
Auditory: Record yourself as you read over your notes. Play it back and listen to yourself.
Tactile: Make flashcards by putting key themes on one side and the entire paragraph explanation on the other side.
I will be providing the students with flashcards prior to the exams.
