一、形容词的比较级和最高级的用法 1. 两种人或事物进行比较时 , 用 “ 形容词比较级 + than” 。 The sun is bigger than the moon.

This cake is more delicious than that one.

注意：形容词比较级可用 much, still, a little,

even 等词来修饰。例如： This seat is much/a little more comfortable

than that one. 这个座位比那个更舒服一些。

2. 形容词最高级的用法 表示三者或三者以上 ( 人或事物 ) 的比较 , 用最高级。最高级前面一般加定冠词the, 后面可带短语来说明比 较的范围。例如 : Mary is the youngest of the three girls. 玛丽是三个女孩中最年轻的。 English is one of the most important subjects in middle school.英语是中学阶段最重要的学科之一。

二、形容词的比较级和最高级的构成方式 :1. 一般比较级多在原形上加 -er, 最高级加 -est. e.g. long → longer → longest2. 辅音字母加 y 结尾时去 y 变 i 再加 er, 最高级

加 est e.g. heavy → heavier → heaviest3. 以不发音的 e 结尾时加 r/st. eg. fine → finer → finest4. 重读闭音节结尾的词 , 如末尾是一个辅音字母 ,

双写这个辅音字母 , 再加 -er/est. 　　eg. big → bigger → biggest

5. 多音节词和部分双音节词在词前加 more 或most

Eg. popular→ more popular→ most popular

不规则形容词的比较级与最高级如下 :原级 比较级 最高级good better best

far farther/further farthest/furthest最高级，很容易，变化如同加 -er 。词尾若有哑音 e, 直接加上 -st;重读闭音节，字母要双写 ;辅音加 y, y 变 i 。 多音节，要牢记， the most 加在它前面。
