KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA ETAH LIBRARY NEWSLETTER
Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated on 2nd October 2016, at Kendriya Vidya-laya Etah open ground. The pro-
gramme began with a prayer song. A devotional ambience prevailed as the pro-gramme started with a meaningful prayer service in the form of ‘Sarva Dharma Prarthana’. As Gandhiji said “The need of the moment is not one religion but mutual respect and tolerance of different religions.” The significance of the day was given by staff members followed by a song
“Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram” dedicated to Gandhiji. Under Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched on Gandhi Jayanti, the principal KV Etah including Staff memmbers swept them-selves the school premises. The teachers and students cleaned their class rooms, labs, library, playground and surrounding areas of the School. “Peace is the most powerful weapon of mankind. It takes more courage to take a blow than to give one.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi.

Day of Non-Violence for him being a person who taught us to
follow the path of peace and non-violence. In June 2007, the
United Nations General Assembly had voted to establish Octo-
ber 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence. The resolution
by the General Assembly asks all members of the UN to com-

and public awareness. Gandhi, who has inspired millions of
people all over the world with his teachings, is remembered
even seven decades after his death. He was assassinated on January 30, 1948.
He taught us to be the change we wish to see in the world.
