Get out a piece of paper and write down your New Year’s resolutions. Don’t have any? This is the time to create some!

Resolutions will be displayed to keep ourselves motivated throughout the school year!

Need something else to do? Get out your HR folder and write a January Goal!

Write it on a piece of construction paper and we will post it later with your old application!

After attendance, I will write down your new seating chart, get our bins organized, and we will continue our Shading Exercise!

What are the Principles of Design? Balance – When objects appear equal in

weight Contrast – When 2 or more objects are

completely different Emphasis – When special attention is

given to an object Movement – When an object appears to

be moving Unity – When objects appear similar in

Take a look at the Taj Mahal. Notice how it seems balanced? Why does it seem balanced?

What is contrast? What parts of this design do you see that are different?

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN: EMPHASIS

What is emphasis? What in this picture shows emphasis?

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN: MOVEMENT

Does a picture have to be moving to show movement? What does this picture have to make the figures seem like they’re moving?

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN: RHYTHM

What is rhythm? How do we see it in this picture? How do we see rhythm with color?

What is unity? How does this picture show unity?
