WOMBAT is changing. We offer rides for everyone now! Welcome riders who stop to smell the roses continuing with the 50 mile route daily and those riders who are ready for more! Cyclists can ride up to 465 miles over the span of 5 days!

Day 1: Glen Arbor to Grand Traverse Lighthouse, Leelanau State Park, to Northport High School. 50, 75, or 100 miles options!!

Day 2: Northport through Traverse City to Elk Rapids High School. 50, 75, or 100 miles options!!

Day 3: Elk Rapids by Torch Lake to Petoskey State Park. 50, 75, or 100 miles options!!

Day 4: Petoskey to Mackinaw City, Tee Pee Campground. 50, 75, or 100 miles options!!

Day 5: Mackinaw City, out a few, back to the docks, to Mackinac Island. Finish on M-185. 45 or 65 miles.

Dinner at 2:00 PM. The rest of the day is yours! Last boat leaves at 10:00.

Wombat 2019 embarks on a plan to give WOMBAT longevity.

1. Consistent rides, this route will last at least 3 years. WOMBAT has seen over 2500 miles of our beautiful state of Michigan. With three options daily we believe we will challenge all riders to accomplish all they can, fundraise more efficiently than they already have, know what beauty they can expect, and yet see new roads should they desire yearly.

2. Riders, is how WOMBAT happens! What we thought was going to be a hobby is what God has made a wave for His purposes. Our prayer is that experienced riders and new riders alike will be drawn to the vision of WOMBAT.

3. Quarterly newsletters are how WOMBAT is committed to informing its members, donors, and prospects. It is assembled by a veteran volunteer. Why only excitement one week a year? Let’s keep the motivation up even when it’s snowing! Each rider will have the responsibility of spreading the word by forwarding the newsletter to the donors who give them motivation to ride.

4. Prayer is what we do daily. God’s word sends us to it, and it’s for free. Open His word often, pray unceasingly. Pray for WOMBAT leadership, rider safety, ministry integrity, recipient receptiveness

Other changes you will see in WOMBAT1. We are looking for donors who will

sponsor gifts within WOMBAT. These gifts and giveaway prizes will range from riding gloves to carbon fiber bikes. Thanks to the veteran volunteer who has agreed to head this up and lead us into our next chapter! Excitement is both desired and building. Look for more information in the newsletter!

2. Small change, but not insignificant, will be our devotional time. Instead of occurring following breakfast, we will have it in the evening. This will allow long rides to begin much earlier than 9:00. Some will be departing as early as 7:30, and for good reason!

3. Due to the expenses of both a boat ride and dinner for those families joining up on the island, WOMBAT is committing to dinner for family as well as riders on the night of Day 5. This can be done because of the generosity of our personal caterer!! Thanks Will Thoms!!! Also paid for is riders’ ride to and from the Island. We are committed to high quality experiences while maintaining expenses.
