Remember, each week more activities will be sent out to complete. These will help you towards the final task which will be creating an information leaflet to advise people how

to help save the planet.

Task 11 – Design and make a plastic sculpture.Enquiry question – How can you spread the message?

TaskHelp spread the word in your community that we need to stop polluting our beautiful blue planet by designing and making a plastic sculpture. Collect any plastic from your home and create your own plastic sculpture! Make sure you are careful when cutting and don’t hurt yourself on the edges of the plastic. Remember you can use plastic bottles, bags, container, netting etc.

1. Collect your materials (so that you know what you’re working with.2. Draw your design on the sheet below.3. Make your sculpture out of your materials.

Artists have already been making sculptures out of plastic. Look below for some inspiration.

InformationReject, reduce, reuse and recycle plastics. Think about all the rubbish thrown away in your house. Can you stop buying some plastic items? Can you reuse single-use plastics as something else (a bird feeder or plant pot, for example)? Can you give old plastic toys to a charity shop or a friend?

InformationThere are many things we can do to reduce the amount of plastic that we use. By working together, our choices can help clean up the ocean and make it a safe place for our amazing marine life to live!

To help reduce the amount of plastic you use you can:1. Drink from reusable water bottles.2. Use multi-use shopping bags3. Buy loose fruit and veg4. Recycle all the plastic that you can!
