How to Email a Picture

Email a Picture from Facebook or a Website

If you want to email a picture that is already saved to your computer, skip ahead to step 7.

1. If you found a picture on Facebook or a website that you want to email to someone, go to the picture. If you’re on Facebook you’ll have to click on the picture to bring up the picture viewer.

In the image below, the picture we want to email is circled for your convenience.

2. Click on the Facebook picture, and it should look like this.

3. Right-click (click on the right side of the mouse), and a menu will appear. Select the option that says ‘Save image as...’

4. A window will appear. This is where you are saving the picture to. You should probably save it to the ‘Picture’ folder. If it doesn’t open up by default, click the word ‘Pictures’ on the menu on the left side of the window.

5. Rename your photo to something you will remember. Click on the box next to ‘File name’ and delete what is written. Type the new file name in. It should be descriptive. If it is a picture of your dog, name it something like ‘My dog’ or ‘Max.’ Click the save button.

6. The photo is now saved to your computer.

7. Now go to your email account. To learn how to log in to your email account, ask for another manual!

8. Open up a new email (by clicking a button that says something along the lines of ‘Compose’ or ‘New’).

9. Add a subject line that describes what you would like to tell them about, and type in the email address of the person you want to send the picture to. Make sure you type the subject line and email address in the correct locations. Normally it will tell you which box is which.

10. Now click the attachment button. It usually looks like a paper clip.

11. A window will open, probably the Pictures window. If not, click the word ‘Pictures’ in the menu on the left side.

12. Remember the name of your file? Either scroll to find it, or start typing the name of it in the File name box. Click on it, and then hit the ‘Open’ button.

13. Your picture should now load into the body of your email. It may take a few seconds or a few minutes, depending on the size of the picture. The bigger the picture, the longer it will take to upload.

14. Once it’s finished uploading (the loading bar will be full, and then the loading bar should disappear), click ‘Send.’
