Music is Magic PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Wow what an amazing weekend at convention! Thank you ALL so much; words cannot express how grateful I am to have all of you in my life. If you were not at convention I’m sorry you missed it. Alpha Rho did a wonderful job as always, thank you. Mary Jay being the wonderful person she is was ready for her pie … I love ya girl! To my amazing family, Eta Rho Sisters and Rho Chi Sisters what can I possibly say …. and don’t forget my escorts, were they not awesome! It was great to see some ladies we haven’t seen in a while; Alpha Gamma, as well as some of our new pledges from various chapters and some Delta Chi Collegiate Chapter members, WELCOME we are so glad you are with us!

I did make up some folders for every chapter and pass them out at convention. These contained the most updated roster information, board member information and important date calendar. If you did not receive one, please let me know, I can email it or I will be bringing new yearbooks to the August board meeting for all chapters who have paid their dues. Each of the board members received this information and I hope that they have reached out to the person within your chapter for their office. There are many email changes this year so please take some time to update your contact list. My ESA email is [email protected] .

This year in ESA my goal is for each individual to find the music that brings out the magic in their chapters and individual lives. Music is very powerful and can help provide attitude adjustments, enthusiasm and an overall feeling of well-being that we can all benefit from. We had 17 new pledges and one new chapter with 36 pledges join Florida ESA in 2011-2012 and that is something to be proud of and celebrate! We also lost some members and chapters and that is one of the things I would like us to focus on this year, retaining what we have. As I said in my speech, I was nothing like the person I am now prior to joining ESA. I want to share that opportunity of growth and self- worth to the world! I want all of us to take the time to feel the music of ESA. Really look and see how you are doing as chapters and individuals are you in tune with each other, are you stuck in a rut, have you lost your enthusiasm? If things don’t seem right CHANGE THE SONG! You will never know unless you try. I know we all have our own stories and reasons we love and stay with ESA, don’t keep them hidden, let yourself be heard and share the musical magic!

I am so excited to be going to IC in Oklahoma next month to represent Florida ESA! I will be the 4’8” girl standing 12” feet tall while carrying the Florida State Flag. I can bet there will be no one more proud to represent her state than I will be. We are FLORIDA ESA and our MUSIC is MAGIC!

I would like to begin by saying BRAVO to Alpha Rho, Tampa for such an OUTSTANDING convention! Despite my size and timing I really did have a great weekend! Congrats to Mary Jay on an outstanding year and I am SO excited to make music magic with Robin this year. Once again thank you all for your continued support and faith in me. I know that together we will keep ESA Florida growing! I hope that EVERYONE is working on their "1.2.3." for talking about ESA and if you don't have any idea what I am talking about contact me!!! Many times it is harder to talk to someone about why they should join ESA then it is to find someone to join, people are EVERYWHERE!!! PLEASE PLEASE contact me with any new pledges, transfers, reinstatements, or potential member names and contact information so I can welcome each and every person as well as congratulate you on a job well done!!! OCTOBER is membership month! I can't wait to hear all of your ideas for rush and if you need some ideas please let me know! Send some invites my way I would love to join your chapter as you introduce ESA to EVERYONE!!! Remember the most important thing is to HAVE FUN after all its Fun and Fellowship with a Purpose!!!! Talking to someone about why they should join ESA is as EASY as 1.2.3!!On a personal note, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the cards, gifts, and LOVE that you have shared with my family and I. We are so grateful to have a healthy baby girl! Elise Pauline Andux was born on 5/23/12 at 7:48am she weighed 7lbs and 4oz. We are both doing very well and Big Brother Dominick could not be happier !!!I am so THANKFUL to have such great support from so many!! xoxo

Lin KingSecond Vice President

Thank you for electing me as your 2nd Vice President for the ESA 2012-2013 year. I am honored.

As you know, it is my duty to get bids for Mid-Year 2013, Leadership 2014, and FSC Convention 2014. So…be expecting correspondence and phone calls from me! I am going to make it my goal to get at least two bids for each event. I believe it is healthy to be competitive with skits to win the bid. Let me hear from you early! Installation was awesome! And, Robin had the most handsome escorts of anyone. I am looking forward to a productive year where Music is Magic.

Jan HumphreyTreasurer

Greetings ESA friends and sisters. This is my first ever treasurer report. I have nothing to report because I am on vacation in Ohio! I will attend to banking duties when I return in mid July, so don't panic if your check sits until then. Keep sending in those checks and rosters for me and don't forget the new dues rate is twenty dollars. If you have any questions, email me at [email protected]

Barbara FryEducational DirectorPERSEVERANCE –When the world says, “Give up,” Hope whispers, “Try it one more time.” -Deena Wuest

What a wonderful convention, I was so glad I did not miss it. It is always so good to see everyone. Thank you Mary Jay for a good flight last year and now we can sing and dance with Robin. Listen as the music makes us move in a wonderful new way this year in ESA. I am looking forward to being your Educational Director and want you to know I am willing to help out anyway I can. Would love to visit with you in your chapter meeting(s) or at an event you are having. I feel it is important that we stay in touch and want to send out a note to all chapters thru out the year. Please don’t forget to read the Outstanding Educational Program Award in your yearbook and keep in mind the Distinguished Athenian Award Entry Form also. Anytime we can learn something new is a great day so education programs are a good tool to use. Think of something you would like to find out about and go for it. Remember I am here for you and again thank you for allowing me to be your Educational Director for the 2012-2013 year. Barbara J. Fry - P O Box 1094 - Titusville, FL 32781 - 321-264-0021

Tina Shafer Philanthropic Director Thank you ALPHA RHO for a fabulous trip to the Big Apple! It was a great weekend. A big congratulation goes to the FLORIDA ESA for raising over $100,000 in Philanthropic Funds this past year! That is amazing. Please let me know what your chapter did to raise funds. We would like to hear it all…the good…the better and even the not so good. I will be collecting all the ideas and putting them on the Website and on Facebook to get the word out and CELEABRATE ESA! Talking about celebrating…what does your Chapter have planned for the summer months to raise monies and awareness for ESA? What local charities will you be supporting this year? State projects? Let’s all set a goal to beat last’s year and let’s make some MAGIC and “PHIL” the hat with PHILANTHROPIC MONIES!!!! Just some examples from Rho Chi where all of our members contribute to the philanthropic funds. RoseMary Gibson hand makes afghans to use as drawings at State Meetings. We have a “Yard Sale Crew” that participates in huge local events raising money for local charities…selling our own “slightly used goodies.” Another group works events at Raymond James Stadiums and others work at local food banks and thrift stores. When each one does a little…it turns into a lot!!! It is like MAGIC! Please do not hesitate to let me know how I can assist your chapter. Thank you for allowing me to serve you and the Florida State Council.

Rhonda Coy Corresponding SecretaryHave you sent your minutes in – [email protected] will get them to me. I am curious by nature so I will be reading all those notes that are taken. Minutes are the history of your Chapter, be concise, thorough and complete. Minutes only need to contain business transacted, a motion is transcribed as written, however, who the motion was made by and seconded is not necessary or any lengthily discussion that follows. I look forward to your minutes – if you are not meeting in the summer or canceling a meeting please let me know in a timely manner. Looking forward to hearing from you. Rhonda

Kay WoodsRecording SecretaryHello everyone, I am looking forward to serving as your FSC Recording Secretary this year. Thank you, Barbara Fry, for your help and thoroughness in turning over the reins to me. If I can ever assist you with recording the minutes for your chapter, feel free to ask me. I had a great time at the convention, and we are looking forward to hosting the 2013 Convention in Jacksonville. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer.

Mary Jay SeibertJr. Past President/Disaster FundWOW! What a wonderful and memorable convention we had! I want to thank everyone for your support for me last year as FSC President. It was truly an honor to represent you and the State of Florida and a year I will always remember. Now on to Disaster Fund Chair! The purpose of the ESA International Disaster Fund is to assist an ESA member whose home and/or personal belongings are destroyed or damaged extensively by one of nature's causes - fire, flood, etc. There is also assistance available when a member incurs heavy financial responsibility due to a debilitating illness or accident, which involves the member or their immediate family who resides in their home and whom they are legally responsible. In order to keep this fund available for our members, we need to send as much as possible to this fund. Please consider having special events and fundraisers for the Disaster Fund. If you have any questions about the Disaster Fund, please let me know!

Lin KingWebmasterwww.esaflorida.net is the place to be! News about chapters, St. Jude, Easter Seals, Hope for Heroes, upcoming events, recipes and much more. A calendar of important dates has been added. If you have something you want me to add to the calendar, please let me know. The only section that has not been updated since Convention is the Members Only section. (I’ll get to it soon, I promise.) If you can’t find something, send me an e-mail or call me – [email protected] or 904-608-9525. I’ll help you find what you want. Music and animation have been added as enhancements. This is a communication tool that should be interesting, informative and fun. Please help me to make it so. Suggestions for changes or improvements are also welcome. Send your information for inclusion.

Angie WiszScrapbookHi everyone! I just wanted to say how excited I am to be doing the scrapbook for Robin this year I look forward to receiving pictures from everyone. Please email all pictures to me at [email protected]

Leslie BoydChaplainHello sisters! Hope all of you had a wonderful Memorial Day and already enjoying the summer weather. I sure had a lovely time meeting with all of you at convention. I look forward to that weekend each

year. I am always encouraged and challenged for the new year ahead in ESA. I am so honored that Robin has chosen me to serve as your state chaplain this year! I asked everyone at the last board meeting to seek out one

sister that needs a little extra love and support this year and share some love with them. I encourage you to do the same. Hoping all of you know by now if you are sending out praises or prayers for each other please contact me on my PERSONAL email [email protected] until further notice. If you would like to receive my reports, please let me know. Looking forward to spreading music and magic with all of you this year.

Jan BilliasSt. Jude CoordinatorYay! We now have a great Junior Coordinator in Roxanne Haynes. Maybe with her banking experience, the math will be more accurate. This is a good segue to my next announcement. BOY DID I GOOF! The bad news is I made an error in calculating the St. Jude monies/member. First place should have gone to Eta Rho with $2701.15/member. Second would have been Rho Chi, third, Alpha Rho, and Omega Omega in fourth. The good news is the members were very gracious and forgiving when receiving this news, it did not affect any other totals, and Eta Rho still got Chapter of the Year! This also does not mean that all chapters did not do an outstanding job in raising money, and SJCRH was the benefactor. Thank you for a wonderful year. Watch for a fun new project to be introduced to Florida ESA for St. Jude.

Mary SosaEaster Seals CoordinatorWow, what a wonderful convention! Thank you to the members of Alpha Rho for putting together such a fun weekend for us all. We have explored the wild blue yonder and entered into the magical year of music all in a matter of hours! Now that is magic! This year I have the privilege and the honor to serve as the “senior” Easter Seals Coordinator together with Robin Krawchuk as the “Junior” Easter Seals Coordinator. We are both very excited to be working together to benefit such a wonderful organization. Robin has set up a new email address for Easter Seals and you can send your concerns, questions, ideas, etc… to us at [email protected]. You can still always reach me at my personal email [email protected] . I am looking forward to the magic of the new ESA year and to having all of the Florida chapters supporting Easter Seals this year.

Sue CerialeESA Foundation CounselorThank you to everyone who contributed to the ESA Foundation basket/money tree for IC Convention. Your generous donations will give our money tree over $240.00. I will be making origami flowers with the

money and placing them in a bouquet. If anyone wants to donate additional money or gift cards, let me know by July 10th. I will attach the gift cards to stems and place in the bouquet also. You may send to Sue Ceriale, 6945 Caliph Ave. Cocoa, FL 32927. If you do not want to send cash in the mail, you may send a check made out to me. Changes are coming to the Scholarship Application process. It has been announced that the application process will be entirely online starting this year. I will be attending IC Convention to find out how the process will work and will inform the FSC membership when I return.

Tarsha AhmadCare ConnectionGreetings everyone! I am very excited to be the Care Connection contact this new exciting year, also about all of the Celebrate ESA upcoming events to share ESA with others. I hope you all are just as excited as well. I am sure everyone has rested after the fun time I heard that you all experienced at the State Convention. I wish that I could have been there instead of being probed and pricked by doctors all week. You were all in my thoughts. During the Memorial Day Holiday I worked the entire day, and later had the opportunity to participate with a local group collecting funds for kids of military to attend summer camps. During this event there were many families that came out and even shared their stories. I was blown away by just how many felt that their husbands or family members felt blessed beyond measure, by the support they received from many organizations like ESA and others. So on that note, as we celebrate and spend time with our families, let's not forget our troops and their families. They really do appreciate our endless efforts. With so many changes happening with our country let's remain focus on our goals and our passion for being a part of what ESA really means. I hope that all of you will visit the ESA website and embrace the new technology during this new and exciting year. It will be a great year for ESA members to try new ways to show we care. I also hope that we will draw closer together in both difficult and good times. With so many resources and so many needing help we are well equipped to get the job done! Our Executive Director said it best, "In ESA we do care, we do share, and we will use and develop all the means we have on hand to enhance the connections that create" amazing "stories, where ESA friends care enough to do what needs to be done." Please remember to support those businesses that help our troops through USA Cares, it's a great way to say "Thank you."

Sharon Robert Out Going PhilanthropicWhat an eye opening experience being your Philanthropic Director has been! I have learned what hardworking, dedicated and generous members we have in Florida. They are certainly involved in many good works! I would like to give you a few suggestions for the benefit of your new Philanthropic Director. Please use the Philanthropic form found on the Florida State Website and in your yearbook. If you need to attach a separate piece of paper please only give her the information requested in the form. Also, please double-check your math. While the chapters do have deadlines for their reports, it is important to remember that the Philanthropic Director also has deadlines. If the reports submitted are uniform, easy to read and accurate, her job will be much easier. Paula Kelly

Outgoing Care ConnectionPast Care Connection. We Care, Do You? That was the message given at convention. I pass the reins on to Tarsha Ahmad to continue the caring. It has been a great year and hopefully you can find even more ways to care for our troops and each other.

Barbara FloydAudit Committee Final Report The Audit Committee, comprised of Kay Patskoski, Mary Sosa, and myself, audit the Treasurer’s Books from 2010–2011, and the Lamp and the Philanthropic Books for 2011-2012 and found them all to be in order. The Committee made a few suggestions which should help in the audit process in the future.

Outgoing Parliamentarian Rhonda CoyWhat a great convention. Bylaws or not I spent a fabulous time in New York aka/Tampa and just loved every minute of it. Bylaws by definition are laws that an organization goes by, we refer to Robert Rules of Order for guidance in areas not addressed in our bylaws. Standing rules are rules created to help with the details and order of business. This past convention we had several very important proposed bylaw changes that dealt with increase of dues and candidate qualifications for office. I personally want to thank all those that took the time prior to the business meeting at convention to inquire about the proposed changes, review and being prepared and informed while they were each individually considered when presented. In brief the Delegates approved a dues increase to $20.00 per pledge or jewel pin member, approved a minimum of two years active membership prior to running for State office and allowed any member in good standing to be eligible for the Disaster Fund whether their chapter contributed or not. The bylaws in whole can be found on the Florida ESA website and will be printed in the forthcoming yearbook. If you have any questions – I am only a phone call or e-mail away. Thank you again for being informed, coming prepared and making my job this year much easier.

Janice and SharonOut Going Scrapbook

Well, as the year has wound down, so has the Scrapbook. Sadly, only 6 chapters submitted pictures to Sharon Roberts and I and we have informed Mary Jay that in lieu of a scrapbook that the fingerprint balloon submitted to her at convention will be her "scrapbook" this year. Thank you for all of our sisters who stopped by our room to add their thumbprint to Mary Jay's balloon! For those who did not make it to convention, the thumbprint balloon was compiled of the thumbprint and name of everyone who stopped by our hotel room to add their signature on a large sheet of paper. The thumbprints were in the shape of a hot air balloon. Below the balloon, was a pen and ink drawing of a hot air balloon basket with ESA inscribed on the side with Wild Blue Yonder, Mary Jay's theme for this year, and 2011-2012 written below. The balloon was then matted and framed and presented to Mary Jay at convention as a memento of her year as president. Maybe someone submitted a picture to the Lamp so you can see what it looked like. We will also be giving to Mary Jay copies of the pictures we took in our room of the ladies who came by as well as all of the pictures submitted to us for a potential scrapbook. If any chapters want to forward their chapter pictures to Mary Jay to add to her collection, please do so. Thank you for a great year in the Wild Blue Yonder and I know we are all looking forward to making music with Robin!

Thank you Sharon and Janice for making an amazing gift!

A Hot Air Balloon ride was given to Mary Jay as well

CHAPTER CHATTER

Alpha Nu- GO ALPHA NU!!! Eight members of Alpha Nu, the Merritt Island chapter of ESA, attended the 2011-2012 Florida State Convention held at the Tampa Hilton on May 18-20. All enjoyed the program and are very proud of our chapter's accomplishments over the past year.

Our newest member, Supatra Chmielewski, was awarded 2nd place for her essay, "What ESA Means To Me" in the less than one year category. She also won 3rd place for pledge of the year. We received our Gold Heart, Gold Quill, and Gold Link for getting all of our reports in on time. Alpha Nu won 3rd place for Outstanding Chapter. Three members received service pins: Joyce Andrade and Alice Schwindt received 15 year service pins and Kay Patskoski received her 50 year service pin. Alice Schwindt received 2nd place for her photo art entry. Alpha Nu received 1st place for Easter Seals, both in hours and money. We received 1st place for our Educational

Program and 3rd place for local

philanthropic hours.

SIGMA TAU Congratulations to Robin Allred and all her officers on their installation, and our gratitude to those who accepted committee appointments. And, what a wonderful convention it was and a great way to jump-start the summer. We enjoyed every minute of it and, especially, the camaraderie with our sisters from all over the state. Our chapter worked hard for the awards it received and, with all our members present, we were able to pat ourselves on the back. We also extend congratulations to three of our chapter members on their sorority anniversaries: Joyce Paul, 55 years; Selma Pringle, 45 years; and Paulette Meeks, 10 years. We also jumped right into our chapter’s new year with installation in April at Selma Pringle’s home, where she prepared and served our favorite Italian menu (including bakery-fresh canollis). Selma installed Janice Dietrich as president, Paulette Meeks as vice president, Ruthann Richwine as secretary, and Joyce Paul as treasurer. Other members accepted the various directorships. Our president’s theme and our educational theme is “With a Song in My Heart.” In July, we will be going to see a local production of “Carousel” and then hearing Joyce Sabella’s educational program on Broadway productions. But, not before we have our annual cookout at Janice Dietrich’s and Janet Whiston’s home in Brooksville in June – they are cooking and serving cheddar dogs and hamburgers and all the trimmings. As of this writing, all our members are on the healthy side; no one in the hospital, no one breaking bones (well, Rebecca Sutter is still

lugging her boot around but should get rid of it shortly), and family members in good shape. We’re looking forward to hosting Bay Area Council meeting in September in Clearwater, and then to attending Mid-Year Conference in Clearwater in October.

OMEGA OMEGA- Omega-Omega members want to thank Alpha Rho for their recent "trip" to New York. Friday night's costumes told it all. Our chapter had two costumes out of the past....one an immigrant from the now closed Ellis Island, the other was the fan dancer of her day, Gypsy Rose Lee. Accompanying "Gypsy" was her husband, Rodney Post, their grandchildren, Kasey and Kye Lineberger, and their mother, Mrs. Kelli Lineberger. Thanks to our hosts for the delightful table favors...especially our diamond rings from "Breakfast at Tiffanys".!!! April and May kept us all busy with a "rush" party at Margie Post's , the "pinning' of our newest member, Barb Basile (Sue Ferry's sister), and our Bay Area Council meeting at Mimi's in Tampa. We were proud to have Margaret introduce our five guests; Tarsha's sweet daughter, Jaya Nair, Barb Basile, Terrie Lake, Amy Holloway, and her mother, Donna Ryan. Both Terrie and Amy are mothers of sons in the new chapter, Delta Chi, in Gainesville at UF. Our members were lucky and happy with raffle prizes won at Bay Area and convention. Roberta Boyles and Margie received tee shirts for Celebrate ESA. June 19th will find us "pledging" Amy Holloway and our first educational will be a visit to the Morean Arts Center to see the Chihuly Collection. In August we will be helping with a giant yard sale...planning to raise money for our philanthropic projects. Our educational programs will continue in July at the home of Rolaine Little. The program will be "not one dry eye."

Epsilon Lambda What a great convention. Thank you Alpha Rho. The Epsilon Lambda dynamic trio, Sara Meadows, and Sue and Allan Ceriale, had a great time. Epsilon Lambda is especially pleased to congratulate Sue Ceriale as the Woman of the Year. Congratulations to the new Epsilon Lambda board. The annual Installation and Awards dinner was held at the home of Sue and Allan Ceriale. Installed during the evening were Laurel Lichtenberger, President, La Verne Woodard, Secretary, Sue Ceriale, Treasurer and Sara Meadows, Philanthropic Director. Sue Ceriale was chosen chapter Woman of the Year and Miss Enthusiasm. We are looking of new ways and means projects to fund chapter activities and philanthropic projects. Of course, we are always on the lookout of new members. We are continuing to sell the Mission Accomplished Shuttle Bears designed by Laurel Lichtenberger for $10 ea.(for ESA members only! Normally $12).  For your very own “Mission Accomplished” bear, contact Laurel Lichtenberger at [email protected] or by phone at 321-783-5408.

Jo was chosen Woman of the Year and Donna Miss Enthusiasm. We played Right, Left, Center and the winner was Myra. She split the pot 60-40 with the chapter.....we are going to be doing this instead of our old 50-50 drawing. On April 14th Donna and Betty met with Jan and Marti and helped them catch up their Pallas Athene points. Jan will be getting her 1st and 2nd degrees at convention and Marti is much closer to her 5th degree. Gladys hosted the May meeting. Barbara Fly was affiliated with Gamma Rho. Jan Waggoner received her 1st and 2nd degrees of Pallas Athene. Our Right, Left, Center game was won by Myra Walker....AGAIN!! Seven of us, Jo, Dee, Marti, Marilyn, Charlotte, Jan and Betty attended State Convention in Tampa. Thank you Alpha Rho for a great weekend. We placed 1st in the Foundation Award; 2nd in the Outstanding Chapter; 3rd in Ruth Roy Membership and Scrapbook. We received Gold Quill, Gold Link and Gold Heart certificates in reporting for minutes, educationals and philanthropic. Donna Dittmer was recognized as our Miss Enthusiasm and Jo Schweinfurth as our Woman of the Year. In the Association of the Arts Jan received a 1st place for her picture of the pelican and Charlotte a 1st place in hand needlework for her quilt. Charlotte also received Best of Show for her quilt. The June planning meeting was held at Betty's. We had a salad supper with rolls, dessert and beverages. Plans for the 2012-2013 year were made. We had a good evening with all but two members in attendance. Hope you all have a fabulous summer and travel safe.

Beta Beta

Congratulations to Eta Rho for Chapter of the Year. Next year is our turn again, though. Beta Beta (BB also stands for busy bees). After practicing our singing talents for the awesome convention we forged on with other projects. Five members went to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind Awards and Graduation on June 1 and stayed overnight. The combination of the awe-inspiring courage, conviction and

success of the students along with the ambiance of St. Augustine’s shopping and delicious food was mind boggling. On top of all that we were treated like VIP’s at the school. We even got a special parking place right up front! We were really made to feel welcome and special and we recommend that everyone take the opportunity to attend. Our choice for the Middle School Outstanding Youth award one so we presented our girl with her State Award and Chapter Award at the school in the classroom of her peers. We treated her and her classmates to cupcakes that they devoured voraciously. We held our last business meeting until September but we were warned that over the summer we will not be idle. We are going to socialize at Biloxi and Ybor City and Dunedin and prepare for Mid-Year for October 6 and the Awards meeting on June 30. Lots of planning to do to make both meetings efficient and maybe even fun. Hope to see you at Midyear.

Rho Chi What a fun and exciting year RHO CHI had with President Ida at the helm. Our attitudes are in check and we are off on a new adventure with newly installed President Orma. Our new year started

with our installation of officers, which was performed by our incoming State President Robin Allred. What an honor and an awesome job as we were presented with headbands to get our incoming President’s theme “Health and Fitness” launched.

State Convention was AWESOME!!!.. We were so proud and honored to accompany Eta Rho in the honor guard during the installation of our State President Robin Allred. Congratulations to Robin and our new State Board. Thank you Mary Jay and Alpha Rho for hosting a great convention, a great time was had by all and the fellowship was top notch as always. We have launched a new philanthropic campaign with “Pounds for Pounds”, as we watch the pounds melt away, or add on, we will be donating a pound of food to a local charity for every pound that is gained or lost, while still keeping our

beer booth at Buc’s stadium. The summer heat should help to melt away a few of the pounds .Should be interesting to see the “figures” at the end of the year… Rho Chi wishes you all a great summer and a successful sorority year. See you in the fall!!

Eta Rho - May was quite a busy month for Eta Rho, but that’s how we like it! We supported FARA by volunteering at the 4th Annual Anytime Fitness Golf Tournament on May 12th. The tournament raised $10,000 for FARA, Amazing!!! Rho Chi also volunteered for the event and provided the most delicious Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. I still have people asking me for the recipe! A special thanks to them for all their help! Then it was onto convention, wow, what a great few days! Too few … Thank you Alpha Rho! We had such a great time catching up with all the other chapters around the state. We got to watch our very own Robin Allred take on the role of President, which was wonderful. What an awesome ceremony, way to go Rho Chi!!! We will be rooting Robin on and know that she is going to do amazing things! We are so lucky to have her as one of our own. Oh, and did I mention we were awarded “Chapter of the YEAR”!!!! Wow, were we surprised! We all worked so hard the past year and we hope that we made a difference in many people’s lives. We plan to do even more this year! We have great things planned for membership as well as our philanthropic endeavors. We have taken on working the stadium again next to our Rho Chi sisters so if you are ever there look us up. On May 23rd the newest addition to Eta Rho joined the world, Miss Elise Pauline Andux. She was born at 7:48am, weighed 7lbs 4oz and was 20 ¼ inches long. She is absolutely beautiful and her big brother Dominick couldn’t be more proud. Mom and Dad are doing well and enjoying every moment of the crazy life with 2 kids! We now have 8 kids in the chapter and are anxiously awaiting number 9 - the arrival of our Chapter President Krystin’s daughter (at least they say it is a girl) Payton will be here very soon. It just goes to show …. No matter how busy you are … there is always time to help others. Oh My She Is Here 6/20/12! Congratulations Krystin & the whole Lee Family! And now we are 9
