Who are we?

We are a learning community with the capacity for736 Children

including 90 Nursery places for 3-4 year olds and 16 places for 2 year olds.

We have34 Teachers

45 classroom support staff5 administrative staff, 2 Learning Mentors, 1 Parent Support Adviser,

1 Network Manager, 1 Welfare Officer, 13 Lunchtime Playleaders,2 Site Staff, 7 Cleaners

About Edmonton.

Edmonton is located in the London Borough of Enfield, in North London. We are served by excellent transport links, the school being less than 500 meters from Edmonton Green railway station, and easily accessible from both the M25 and the North Circular Road via the A10.

Edmonton is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, and has been home to the poet John Keats and to the writers Charles and Mary Lamb.

The head teacher will have overall responsibility for the organisation, management and conduct of the school, providing professional leadership and strategic direction to ensure the achievement of the highest possible standards of the school’s work.

Key Priorities To raise the quality of teaching and learning To develop the capacity of the Leadership Team To improve the standards across the school, including progress made by all pupils

Duties The duties outlined in this job description are in addition to these covered by the latest School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, which should be read in conjunction with this document. This job description is based on the National Standards for head teachers.

Strategic Direction and Development of the School (Shaping the future)

To initiate a strategic vision and plan for the school and work with the Governing Body and the Leadership Team to implement, monitor and review the plan for further development of the school within the local, national and international context.

Lead by example and provide inspiration and motivation to the whole school community generating an over-arching ethos and associated policies for the school which promote high levels of progress and attainment within an inclusive, caring and safe environment.

Work in partnership with the whole staff and governors and the Local Authority and LDBS ensuring that the plan is regularly monitored, evaluated and reviewed to meet all statutory requirements.

Ensure that strategic planning and implementation takes account of the diversity, values and aspirations of the families who use the school and the wider local community.

To foster and develop the faith aspect of the school, recognising and welcoming other faiths whilst ensuring that the Christian vision and values of the school are clearly articulated, shared, understood and is tangible in the school’s day to day life.
