ALA Tigers are Terrific!

Luther King Jr. at a ceremony that took place at Fort Worth City Hall on Friday.
Dear Parents, Next week is a very busy week at ALA. Monday is our next Reading Checkpoint. All students should have read and documented 281,250 words and our Pre-AP students should have read and documented 562,500 words. We still have a group of students who have not met the December checkpoint. Please help us support your children's reading progress by encouraging them to read every night. Students must read outside of class in order to keep up with the required reading requirement for ALA.
On Tuesday and Wednesday our 8th grade students will be taking STAAR benchmarks, while our 6th and 7th graders will be taking the IOWA test. I have talked to the students about taking these tests very seriously as we use the data to make instructional decisions for the rest of the semester. After testing on both days, students will report to their Advisory class for an extended work time on their Portfolio.
