Members Meet April 2015: (April & May 2015)

After the New Board came into existence for the period 2015-17 First Members Meet was held on 21st April'2015 at AWAKE. Ms. Jyothi Balakrishna, President welcomed the gathering and introduced the new Office Bearers and Executive Committee members. The President informed the members the new board initiating to strengthen the AWAKE by forming Sub committees to give more and more participation of the members and supporting to strengthen the departmental activities of AWAKE. The present members were self introduced to understand each other and also to create networking among themselves. Ms. Alekhya, one of the Member enlighten the other members on time Management. During the meeting product display and sales was also arranged.

Members Meet September 2015: (Sep. Oct & Nov 2015)(No Image)Members meet was held on 22nd September’2015 at AWAKE. Around 15 members were present in this meet. Ms. Jyothi Balakrishna – President Awake welcomed the participants. The program started with self-introduction. Presentation on “Home Food Hub - an avenue to entrepreneur” was presented by Mr. Pankaj & Ms. Priya. Interaction meeting between Marketing team of Home Food Hub and members was arranged during the meet.

Members Meet: December 2015

Members Meet was held on 15th December’ 2015 at AWAKE. Around 60 members attended this meeting. Ms. Jagadheeshwari, Chairperson - Training Awake

welcomed the participants. The program started with self-introduction. Presentation on “MUDRA Scheme / MUDRA Loan” was presented by Ms. Latha and Mr. Chandrashekar from Syndicate Bank, Bangalore. They also explained how this scheme would be useful for the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. Members displayed their products and had one to one interaction meeting during this meet. Basic rationale behind this meeting was to generate awareness among women members about the significant importance about MUDRA scheme and its various benefits.

Members Meet: January 2016

For any business to survive or to flourish, a businessman has to hone his customer relation skills. If not in the long run he would perish. Keeping this crucial matter in mind AWAKE organized Members Meet on 19th January 2016 at AWAKE office. Around 30 members were present in this meet. Ms. Hamsa – Chairperson & Treasurer, AWAKE welcomed members and the Chief Guest Mr. Manoj Moses. The program started with self-introduction. Mr. Manoj Moses addressed the gathering on Customer Relationship Management. Members had one to one interaction meeting during this meet and they found the session very relevant and informative. Members thanked AWAKE for its social initiative.

Members Meet: February 2016

Contrary to the belief that negotiation skill is an inherited trait, people who negotiate a lot tend to be much more skilled than people who do not participate in it more often. In business, negotiation skills are important in both informal day-to-day interactions and formal business transactions. Mastering the skill contributes significantly to the success of a business. Intending to impart this very essential skill to its members. AWAKE organized a session related to the topic during the monthly Members’ meet held on 16th February, 2016. Around 30 members attended the meeting.

Resource Person Mr. Srinivas Y.R., Group Manager, Trade Vision India, addressed the gathering on 'Negotiation Skills'. Negotiation is about knowing what you want, going after it, and respecting the other person in the process. Remember that the whole point of negotiating is compromise. This means that you need to look out for yourself, but also be willing to budge in order to satisfy both parties.” Ms. Chandraprabha, Chairperson-Membership, delivered the vote of thanks. The program was successfully coordinated by Ms. Swathi T., Coordinator-Membership.

Members Meet: March 2016

For the month of March 2016, monthly members' meet was held on 15th March, 2016, at AWAKE. Around 38 members were present in the meeting. The Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Abraham, addressed the gathering on 'Effective Selling Skills'. Dr. B.V. Chandra Prabha, Chairperson-Membership, attended this meeting. Held on 19th April, 2016, the highlight of the monthly meet was the session on ‘Stress Management’.

A very interactive session conducted by Mr. Manoj, which included several activities and games, emphasized on identifying the root cause of one’s stress. Stressing on the negative impact stress has on the performance and health of a person, Mr. Manoj explained various techniques to manage stress and lead a healthy and productive life.

Members Meet: May 2016A session on ‘Working Capital Management’ was organized by AWAKE during the Monthly Meet of its members held on 17th May, 2016. Mr. Vadiraj, having vast experience as a banker with Canara Bank, highlighted the role of working capital and its management as an important aspect of business. He also explained to the audience how working capital served as an important diagnostic tool to measure the financial health of an organization through interactive and simple examples.

Members Meet: June 2016The monthly AWAKE Members’ Meet was held on 21st June 2016 and was attended by around 30 members. A session on ‘Marketing’ was organized for the members who attended the meeting. The Chief Guest Mr. Ramesh spoke about the importance of marketing, building and maintaining customer relationship, marketing strategies and their importance in growing a business. Many members discussed about the challenges they face in marketing their products/services with Mr. Ramesh and got his inputs and suggestions.

Members Meet: July 2016

When you first start off trying to solve a problem, the first solutions you come up with are very complex, and most people stop there. But if you keep going, and live with the problem and peel more layers of the onion off, you can often times arrive at some very elegant and simple solutions. Most people just don’t put in the time or energy to get there.

The monthly AWAKE Members Meet was held on 19th July 2016. Around 21 members were took part in this meeting. Ms. Uma Ashok – Joint Secretary, AWAKE welcomed the Chief Guest and members. The program started with self-introduction. Mr. M P Varsha - Chief Guest addressed the gathering on “Motivation” Members had one to one interaction meeting during this meet. Members Meet was held on 16th August 2016 at AWAKE. Around 17 members were present in this meeting. Ms. Uma Ashok– Joint Secretary Awake welcomed members and the Chief Guest. The program started with self-introduction. The Chief Guest Mr. Aveen Kumar addressed the gathering on “Important of networking in business” Members had one to one interaction meeting during this

Members Meet: September – 2016

AWAKE’s members meet was held on 27th September, 2016. We invited Dr. B.V. Murali Krishna – joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Admin) DVOI, Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Karnataka to provide awareness about “Goods and Service Tax” to our members. Ms. Jyothi Balakrishna – President, AWAKE introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest and all members.

The Chief Guest Dr. B.V. Murali Krishna – Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes addressed the gathering on “Goods and Service Tax”. The GST is an indirect tax which means that the tax is passed on till the last stage wherein it is the customer of the goods and services who bears the tax. This is the case even today for all indirect taxes but the difference under the GST is that with streamlining of the multiple taxes the final cost to the customer will come out to be lower on the elimination of double charging in the system.

Members Meet: October 2016

Around 30 members attended AWAKE’s members meet which is held on 20th

October, 2106. The topic was Kinder Garden. Ms. Bhuvaneshwari C., Hon. Secretary, AWAKE welcomed the resource person and members. Resource person Ms. Shirisha Naveen , Kidken Edu Solutions and also one of AWAKE Member who offers an end to end solution on setting up new preschool. She presented on how to start and run a preschool effectively. It was successfully coordinated by Ms. Swathi and awake staff.

Members Meet: November 2016

On 15th November, 2016 AWAKE conducted members meet to give awareness on Udyog Aadhaar and MSME Schemes. Ms. Suman S. Raj, Assistant Director, MSME addressed the gathering about Udyog Aadhaar, Importance of Udyog Aadhaar, how to get it etc. and also shared information about MSME Mudra Scheme. Around 35 members were attended the meeting. Dr. P. V. Chandraprabha, Chairperson – Membership was present in the meeting.
