June 22, 2015 Press Release Robeson County Clean and Green Contact: Kristina Locklear Cummings at 910.865.3348 Robeson County Kicks Off Clean and Green Campaign “Team Up to Clean Up Robeson” The Robeson County Clean and Green Committee will kick off the 2015 Clean and Green campaign with a roadside cleanup on Wednesday, July 1 at the One Stop Building (Old D.S.S Building) on Highway 711. Volunteer registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the Roadside pickup will begin at 8 a.m. Volunteers will clean along Highway 711 and Highway 72. This event kicks off the countywide effort to clean up Robeson County roadways and communities. Refreshments will be provided for volunteers. The theme for this year is “Team Up to Clean Up Robeson”. The Clean and Green Committee is asking community members, church groups, community organizations, civic groups and anyone who wants a better Robeson County to join this effort. Robeson County Commissioner Raymond Cummings is a member of the committee and he hopes citizens will spread the word in their communities, churches and everywhere they go. “Litter is everyone’s concern and we hope everyone will take ownership as this is our county. The kick off on Wednesday is one of many efforts that we hope sparks interest and encourages citizens to clean their own communities,” said Cummings. Robeson County Kicks Off Clean and Green Campaign

“Team Up to Clean Up Robeson”The Robeson County Clean and Green Committee will kick off the 2015

Clean and Green campaign with a roadside cleanup on Wednesday, July 1 at the One Stop Building (Old D.S.S Building) on Highway 711. The Clean and Green Committee has been meeting for several months. The committee includes representatives from across the county including the Robeson County Commissioners, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department, Public Schools of Robeson County, The City of Lumberton, Lumber River Council of Governments, UNC Pembroke, Robeson County Solid Waste, Southeastern Health, N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, community volunteers, concerned citizens and representatives from several civic organizations and municipalities in the county.
