the Data Tip: Consider interactive,

collaborative work sessions. Online collaboration – Google Docs Work Webinars Co-locate …anything to get together and

actually work through a problem/create data

Data Dash Initiative What: A collaborative work session

When: Nov. 2, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Metro State College - Geography Computer Lab

Topic: Common Spaces

Who should attend: Local experts and anyone who has knowledge or interest in Open Spaces in our region

Why: To fill in gaps, fix geometries, and complete attribution for a regional Open Spaces dataset Keep in mind:

The goal is to end the day with a regional dataset. If you can’t be there to contribute data, we’ll have to fill it in somehow.

This dataset informs our land use model and is used for many of the forecasts that DRCOG provides to our member governments. Help us help you by attending and helping us make more accurate data!

Planimetrics Chair: Ashley Summers News:

Dissolved this group due to inability to coordinate a purchase on a regional scale.

Successes: Created a regional data model for future use. Opened lines of communication with the vendor and started cost

negotiations so jurisdictions can continue to pursue a purchase on their own.

Lessons Learned: The cost of planimetric features is high -> need to budget a year or two

in advance. Planimetric needs are complicated and varied across the region so a

regional data purchase will be challenging.
