Fugitive Adhesive and Dry Peel

Requirements:

• Hot Melt

• Clean release

• Water-base

• Tackless or retack (if desired)

Recommendations:

• 57-482 to 57-486 Series

• All fugitives must be tested on specific stock.

• Water-base Repositionable to be diluted with water.

• 57-5071 (Lowest release value at 11 grams)

• 57-5074 (Higher release value at 20 grams for offset stocks and envelope flap)

• 41-24-1

• Hot Melt. Great anti-stain. Clean release.

3

Dry Peel

• Water-base with UV Topcoat (26-35-1 with L9091VT)

• Hot Melt with UV Topcoat (28-67-5 with L9042M)

Refer to www.inlinefinishingsolutions.com for process schematic.

UV Silicone Release Coating/Repositionable and

Permanent Hot Melt and Water-base Adhesives

For Hand Applied Labels:

• Apply L9091L free radical UV silicone via pattern gluer with photopolymeric plate, and then apply 37-625 repositionable, or ANY standard permanent pressure sensitive hot melt.

• Apply L9091L free radical UV silicone via pattern gluer with photopolymeric plate, and then apply 30-37-3 semi-permanent water-base pressure sensitive.

• Note: 300 fpm/400 watt lamp

For Premium Release/Auto Dispensed Labels:

• PC-605 cationic UV silicones applied via flexo with photopolymeric plate with permanent PSHM 16-66-2 or repositionable PSHM 37-625.

• Refer to www.inlinefinishingsolutions.com for process schematic.

Water-base Release Coating/Repositionable

or Permanent Hot Melt

Machine Requirements:

• Apply L9100 M (2 component system) via flexo applicator with photopolymeric plate. L9100 M exhibits clean release with both permanent and repositionable hot melt pressure sensitives, and with semi-permanent water-base PSA (30-37-3). Dry with standard convection air at 220-250ºF for 0.5 sec dwell.

Benefit Summary of ILFS’s Integrated Label Technology

Far More Cost Effective

• Offers a 33% cost savings over purchasing pre-converted release liner/pressure sensitive face stock and tipping it on to the web.

• Offers a 41% cost savings over purchasing and tipping on coated release liner alone.

• Offers further savings due to your ability to pattern-apply release coating and adhesive only in the areas that it is required.

Faster Production

• Eliminates the need for slow, tip-on label application of pressure sensitive labels to the web allowing you to increase web speeds up to 800+ fpm.

7

Reduced Inventory Carrying Costs

• Eliminates the need for large inventories of converted pressure sensitive roll stock and allows you to convert on a just-in-time production basis.

Additional Printing Surface

• You can print or image directly under the release coating to convey additional messages to customers after they have removed the label.

Elimination of Stacking Problems

• Because two panels unite to form one continuous surface, the 4 mil imbalance created by tipping on release liner and pressure sensitive stock is eliminated. The result is a smooth, integrated label product that stacks flat on skids.

Current New Business Development Opportunities

• Textured and High Profile (MBOSS) UV Topcoat (L9074V) for Screen over AGS films. L9074V for Screen over Low to 0% wax/silicone containing heat set varnishes. L9082T for flexo for over varnish application and over AGS films. L9066H for chemical texturing.

• UV Glitter and Pearlized Topcoat (press side add 26-35-3)

• UV and Water-base Glow-in-the-dark Coatings (For Screen and Flexo: UVS100V (green) and UVS102V (blue). Coat weights at 0.5-1 mil.

• UV Thermochromic (UVS101V [flexo] and UVS109V [Screen]). 31ºC activation temp. Flexo applied at 1-1.5 mil coat weight. Black to clear.

• UV Silver/Gold Scratch-off (L9093HS or HG). Run over 96U152H/L9091L (90:10% to 80:20%) primer. Use Gallium doped, V-Bulbs if enhanced cure is needed.

• Hot Melt Remoistenable (28-57-4).

9

• Magnetized UV Varnishes for Low-end Magnet Promotions (UVS107V Binder/A6256P Powder w/A6428P Primer).

• UV Laminating Adhesive (UVA 105 M for Standard Performance).

• UV Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (UVPS100E).

• For cold foil applications

• For “plastic card” laminations

• Magnetic UV Varnish for Information Strips on Credit Card (For E-beam only)

In-Line Magnets

Manufacturing

• Lay down high-profile magnetic UV at 3.5-4.5 mil via rotary screen coater (80/40 mesh).

• Cure UV with Gallium doped V-bulb.

• Magnetize UV with Multi-pole magnet roller.

• Charged piece can either be sheeted or finished in-line like kiss die cut labels.

11

• Allows magnets to be produced on paper (vs. vinyl).

• Allows for personalization.

• Allows for pattern application, reducing cost and waste.

• Allows for pattern coating with a 1/16 inch border, SIGNIFICANTLY increasing life of dies

• Postal savings due to 67% lower weight of piece.
