ShipNODep –project (www.shipnodeff.org)
• ShipNODep is Interreg IIIA co-operation programme between Finland and Estonia
• ShipNODep links (1) the real-time emission inventory to (2) atmospheric dispersion and deposition models and further to (3) marine ecosystem models
• For the first time ship emissions are calculated with advanced technique based on the Automatic Identification System –data provided by HELCOM

no new emission limits fordiesel engines
Results:
– NOx emissions of Baltic shipping are more than 370 000 tons
– SOx emissions of Baltic shipping are more than 148 000 tons
– With IMO Tier 2 and Tier 3 regulations (represented by IMO/MEPC 57 in spring 2008) the NOx emissions of Baltic shipping can be turned to decrease in 2019Source: ShipNODep
