Aurora Tobogganing™

Experience the magic of polar night and toboggan

down the longest toboggan slope in Finland!

The activity starts with a chair lift ride to the top of fell Kaunispää, from where Saariselkä’s city lights open in front of your eyes as a sea of sparkling lights. The toboggan slope is now illuminated with light art, just follow the aurora lights that guide you back down to the valley.

WinterPark

Fun snow activities for the whole family

WinterPark is a great choice for you who want to try several snow activities in one day! You can easily get to Saariselkä Ski & Sport Resort with SkiBus or by foot – and once you get to the Service Centre, our staff will help you all the way. The price of WinterPark includes the use of several snow sports, and you can change the gear at Service Centre. We have proper toboggans suitable for our 1800m toboggan run, and by using the chairlift to go back up you can get several runs in. Afterwards, you can get your first touches to ice-skating, snow tubing, play hide and seek in our snow-maze or play the ice stock sport! In December and January, you can also feed our friendly reindeer.

Are you an experienced cross-country skier and want to go off the beaten path? Experience the calmness of untouched wilderness on our Easy Off-Track excursion. Our ski instructors help you with selecting and using the gear, and safely guide you through the fresh snow on fell Iisakkipää, where the moon-like arctic landscape takes your breath away. On a late evening tour, you might be lucky and experience skiing under the northern lights.

Saariselkä Ski & Sport Resortto maintaining high quality slopes makes for a great result. Our lifts operate daily from 10–17 – with small exceptions – throughout the winter season from the end of November to May. During peak seasons we are open from 10–19. Some of our ski slopes are preserved so the natural snowfall can create heaven for any powder lover.

Our resort lies just a 15-minute walk from the heart of Saariselkä and a ski bus operates daily.
