undercut the fence. Contractor shall inspect site fences after every rainfall and properly maintain to minimize soil movement.
6. A drive to remove most of the dirt and debris from large
truck tires before they leave the construction site. The entrance must be 15m long and shall be located at each construction entrance/exit.
The drive shall be properly graded each to prevent runoff
from leaving the construction site. Runoff from stabilized entrances/exits shall be routed to a
sediment-trapping device before discharge. The stabilized entrance/exit shall be designed to support
heaviest vehicles and equipment that will use it and shall be made of asphaltic concrete. Each drive shall have two rumble strips to shake the dirt off the tires.
7. Establishing staging areas, travel routes, and parking
areas for construction vehicles as compaction and or contamination from construction activities may render the soil lifeless.
8. Ensuring that site clearing and excavation is scheduled to
minimize wind and water erosion. Only the smallest practical area of soil should be exposed at any one time during development, and exposure should be kept to the shortest practical period of time. Temporary plantings and mulching should be used to stabilize exposed soil areas during construction.
9. Ensuring that permanent vegetation is installed
immediately upon completion of improvements, such as streets, walkways or other features of development, to reduce erosion.
10. Ensuring that the contractor stockpiles topsoil on-site after
excavation, covers it, and reuses it for landscaping. 1.07 Control and Disposal of Chemical Waste A. Chemical waste shall be stored in corrosion-resistant containers, removed from
the project site, and disposed of as necessary, but not less frequently than monthly. Disposal of chemical waste shall be in accordance with standard established practices as approved by Saudi Aramco. Fueling and lubricating of equipment and motor vehicles onsite shall be conducted in a manner that affords the maximum protection against spills and evaporation. Lubricants to be discarded, including burned oil, shall be disposed of in accordance with approved procedures meeting local regulations. For oil and hazardous material spills that

may be large enough to violate local regulations, Saudi Aramco Environmental Engineering Division shall be notified immediately.
B. Contractor shall follow the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Instruction
CU 22.03 for Processing and Handling of Hazardous Material. 1.08 Disposal of Rubbish and Debris A. The Contractor shall transport all waste off the site and dispose of it in a manner
that complies with local requirements and Saudi Aramco General Instruction GI-0430.001 “Waste Management”. Garbage and construction waste will not be mixed. Garbage will be disposed in Class II landfill and construction waste will be disposed in a Class III landfill according to SAES-S-007. The Contractor shall secure a permit or license prior to transporting any material off the site. Waste materials shall not be burned on the site.
1. The Contractor shall place garbage in appropriate containers for disposal
and the Contractor shall transport debris and the garbage to a disposal area approved by Saudi Aramco.
2. Chemical toilets or comparably effective units shall be used with wastes
periodically emptied. Provisions shall be included for pest control and for masking or elimination of odors.
B. Excess excavated material that is approved by Saudi Aramco as clean fill may be
disposed of onsite if (1) a soil disposal area(s) has been identified on the drawings, or (2) an onsite soil disposal area is approved by Saudi Aramco. If no such site is approved, the material shall be disposed of in accordance with the provisions herein. Small amounts of material generated by excavation for fencing may be exempted from this provision. In all cases the provisions of paragraphs 1.3 and 1.4 shall apply to the onsite disposal of excavated material.
C. Trash shall be picked up and placed in containers that shall be emptied on a
regular schedule. Handling and disposal shall be so conducted as to prevent contamination of the site and other areas and shall not be disposed of in the wetlands. On completion, the area shall be left clean and natural looking.
1.09 Air Control A. Dust shall be kept down at all times. Soil at the site, haul roads, and other areas
disturbed by the Contractor's operations and materials stockpiled shall be treated with dust suppressor to control dust. Work areas shall be watered down as necessary to control dust. Excavated sand piles shall be covered.
B. The Contractor shall inspect all vehicles for dirt prior to their leaving the
construction site. Dirt, soil, and rubble likely to be dislodged during transit shall be removed from the trucks and other vehicles prior to leaving site.
