[13] Fields of interest/expertise include: Concrete technology, high performance concretes (HPCs); mix design methodologies; ready mixed concrete; concrete structures/constructions; repair techniques/materials; corrosion of steel in concrete; durability of concrete; concrete chemicals; Polymer concrete composites : polymer impregnated concretes, latex/polymer modified concretes, epoxy concretes, polymer concretes; NDT techniques, building materials, building blocks, use of industrial wastes such as red mud, fly ash, condensed silica fume, blast furnace slag and its powder; different types of cements; Codal provisions; fly ash aggregates, lightweight aggregate concretes, geopolymer concretes, nanotechnology in materials of constructions, bacterial concretes, particle packing theories for concrete mix design, hydration of cement; chemical nature of pore solutions, reaction powder concrete, prefab/precast technology, paver/building blocks, geopolymeric binder, etc.

[14] Important test results : S Utilised industrial wastes such as fly ash, blast furnace slag powder, silica fume, etc. to achieve concrete strengths

of 25 to 125 MPa at various ages and any degree of durability/corrosion resistance to suit any particular practical application.

Without using Portland cement, produced a structural concrete with 24 hour strength of about 50 MPa using fly ash and blast furnace slag powder (GGBS) and this is a self-curing concrete

Showed that it is possibility of replacement more than 50% of Portland cement by mineral admixtures (such as fly ash) in concrete and achieve superior durability properties, besides self-levelling flowing/pumpable characteristics.

Developed lightweight aggregates from fly ash for structural grade lightweight concretes Worked on development of eco-friendly and less energy intensive geopolymeric binder as alternate to Portland

cement based concretes using industrial wastes such as fly ash and blast furnace slag, to produce structural grade durable concretes

Use of nano-Silica, migrating corrosion inhibitor, nano-fibres in cement matrix[15] Guided post-graduate students of RECs, NITs, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, Manipal Institute of
