CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

We created this system for our client, Freddie and Andrei Hair

Salon, for them to have an online membership system which would

give their customers a discount on the services they are offering.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

In this modern generation, most people use new technologies in

their work to make things easier for them. Technology is important

nowadays because it helps us do anything thats possible. As a student

of Associate in Computer Technology, we are required to make a

dynamic website for our client to help them promote their business

and improve its popularity. This project focuses on the advertisement

through the use of internet, calling card, flyers, and catalogues in

developing and designing a dynamic website. Most businesses have

their own websites and others do not, due to the high cost of hiring a

web developer. This kind of advertisement will be a great help to

promote the offered services for their customers.

1.1.2. SYSTEMS CURRENTLY APPLIED IN THE COMPANY

In our modern technologys, most business does not have their

own advertising system because it is a waste of money to pay a

system developer and make a system for their chosen field. Thats the

reason the proponents client Andrei and Freddie Hair Salon accepted

our proposal project to make our client a system for their business.

OVERVIEW OF THE CASE PROBLEM

The study focuses on making a system for our client Andrei and

Freddie Hair Salon. The admin can control all the features of the

system. The admin can post, update, and delete announcements and it

can post, update, and delete services of the salon. The proponents

also use digital marketing tools such as calling card, flyers, and

catalogs. These digital marketing tools have a big role in this system

because it promotes the services of the salon and the new promos.

1.1.3 CAUSES OF THE PROBLEM

The cause of the problem is the company does not have an

existing system/website because they cant afford to pay a web

developer.

1.1.4 EFFECTS OF THE PROBLEM

The effect of the problem is they cannot advertise their business,

they cannot be popular in online world.

To develop an online membership system for Freddie and

Andrei Hair Salon to advertise and improve their business.

To promote their business

1.3 SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

The scope of this project website for Freddie and Andrei Hair

Salon are, is to serve as an online membership website for their

offered services for their customer, the admin is capable to add and

remove services, the customer can register and log-in, the admin and

customer can post or comment.

The limitations of this project are the customer cannot use online

payments and the admin cannot chat with the customer or vice versa

and the customer cannot make a reservation for their services.

1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of this project is to help our client improve their

business and be popular to other people. This project will exist in the

online community, promoting the company and the services they are

offering.
