PurposeThis course teaches the following skills and knowledge:• Practical applications of HP Universal CMDB and DDM in

the enterprise.– Ability to design, build, and use topology views and reports

abstracting actual business scenarios.– Ability to model business applications and infrastructure,

detect and assess the impact of failure, and analyze its root cause.

– The generation of actionable business service and infrastructure asset information through basic discovery and mapping techniques

• Efficient use of the UCMDB through discussions and scenario-based lab exercises.

DDM applications and the concepts of CIs and CITs in the context of Business Service Management

• Become familiar with the architecture, integrations, and system level components of the HP UCMDB.

• Understand various deployment scenarios and deploy and configure UCMDB with regards to the specific business requirements.

• Understand the main functional aspects of the UCMDB and their associated business cases and applications

• Plan for discovery and dependency mapping of applications and business services.

components and main interfaces.• Understand TQL, its applications, and define and create

various types of TQLs.• Understanding the new feature Modeling Studio by creating

Models and perspective based views• Design and build topology views and maps in order to

uncover and resolve business problems.• Understand the concept of correlation and model cause and

impact through the creation of correlation rules.• Understand the idea behind enriching the UCMDB data

model and enhance the UCMDB through the use of enrichment rules.
