International Students worked many hours to prepare presentations, food, and displays representing their countries. "Out of this world" food was sampled from Mexico, Bulgaria, China, Japan, Dominican Republic, Bosnia, just to name a few. Peruvian tea, egg rolls, rendang, klepon and many other native dishes were tasted. Sounds of music filled the room - from Yemen, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan & Turkey. Chinese students sang Amazing Grace with a traditional instrument accompaniment and asked everyone to join in their language. A presentation of Tai Chi was given. South Korean students, dressed in beautiful gowns, sang their National Anthem. Local artist, Barbara Binford Davis, painted during the Festival and shared a sample of her art with us. Hispanic students in colorful costumes gave a heartfelt presentation. Students from India danced to traditional music, and a student from Pakistan performed a beautiful song. High school students from Macon East Spanish Classes also attended the Winter Festival. The world is HERE in Montgomery. More than 300 adult International students attend CE classes each week to practice and improve their English. The students represent 51 countries. More than 40 preschoolers attend our childcare classes. Many students require transportation which is provided by church vans and drivers from our participating churches.
