IntroductionDistinction Teacher’s Resource Book 1 contains twenty-seven Grammar worksheets at two levels of ability:

• Grammar revision (at the same level as the Student’s Book)

• Grammar extension (higher-level practice)

There are two Grammar revision pages and one Grammar extension page for each unit of the course.

According to the abilities of your class, you can decide whether the revision or extension worksheets would be more appropriate. You could use each worksheet with the whole class, or you could use different worksheets to support the particular needs of weak or strong students.

You may wish to use these worksheets as homework, classroom tests, or to support classroom learning.

Note: at the start of the year, you might wish to evaluate your students’ understanding of basic grammar points. For this reason, a Diagnostic test has also been provided on page 94 of this book.

Grammar revisionThere are two Grammar revision worksheets for each unit. Each of these worksheets provides practice of the same grammar points which were covered in the Student’s Book unit, so there is no need for you to pre-teach material. Each grammar point is exploited by a variety of exercises, at the same level of difficulty as Distinction Student’s Book 1.

Grammar extensionThere is a Grammar extension worksheet for each unit. Each of these worksheets provides more challenging practice of grammar points than the Grammar revision worksheets. Students are encouraged to complete more difficult, productive tasks, or extend their understanding of the language by learning an additional grammar point.
