Fri/Sat/Sun December 8~10, 2017 08 i LIFE Art exhibition displays disabled children s world W ith the theme “We work together to build our dreams,” the first artwork exhibition for dis- abled children in Shenzhen is held at Shenzhen Children’s Palace from Dec. 3 to 13. Over 100 artworks created by disabled children are on display. They include oil paintings styled after Van Gogh’s post- impressionism, vivid paper-cut arts and painting reflecting environmental protec- tion thoughts, which won the praises of visitors. More than 200 people including dis- abled children and representatives from Shenzhen Disabled Persons’ Federation and Shenzhen Committee of Chinese Communist Youth League attended the opening ceremony. During the ceremony, Futian Cultural and Sports Center donated picture books to disabled children at the Shenzhen Early Intervention Center, encouraging them to keep working hard and improv- ing their painting skills. That same day, accompanied by volun- teers, more than 30 disabled children and their parents visited the Science Popu- larization Kingdom at Shenzhen Children’s Palace and other science exhibitions. Hou Yisha, Party chief of Shenzhen Disabled Persons’ Federation, expressed that every person has his own talent and that to work together to build a well-off society is the mission of the federa- tion. Hou added that carry- ing out early intervention for disabled children, exploring their potential and leveraging public resources to tap into their talents are the keys to helping them recover and fit into the community. Futian Cultural and Sports Center has always paid special attention to the public culture service for those with special needs. It has safeguarded their basic cul- tural rights by opening public benefit classes for special needs individuals, organizing artistic performances and trips for outdoor sketching. Art exhibition displays disabled children’s world

With the theme “We work together to build our dreams,” the fi rst artwork exhibition for dis-abled children in

Shenzhen is held at Shenzhen Children’s Palace from Dec. 3 to 13.

Over 100 artworks created by disabled children are on display. They include oil paintings styled after Van Gogh’s post-impressionism, vivid paper-cut arts and painting refl ecting environmental protec-tion thoughts, which won the praises of visitors.
